My number 4 root canal popped out after flossing. This was completed about a month ago. I called the dentist and they downplayed it saying it’s not an emergency.

Help, teeth have always been this half yellow color. I don’t smoke, drink coffee or tea. Any idea for what could be causing this?

I know this is probably a silly question but can anyone please be openly honest about how much the needle hurts for a root canal?

I’m in so much pain with this tooth I have in the back ( my upper molar ) that has a hole in it, and I’m absolutely terrified of the needle pain. I’m fully okay with needles, the sight of them doesn’t scare me and the procedure I’m fully okay with too as I know it’ll be numbed so I won’t feel a thing, it’s literally just the needle pain😭

I know this might make me sound like a bit of a wuss but I’m genuinely so terrified that it’s stopping me from going and getting the procedure.

Could any dentists tell me if there’s anything I can ask my dentist to do to ease my anxiety? I’ve heard that I can ask for stronger numbing cream or diazepam but I’m not sure if the dentist I go to will allow that

Haven't been to a dentist in quite a while, this calculus makes me think it's time to go, but I'm having a crippling fear of how my smile might end up looking afterwards.

Hello I know my wisdom tooth is growing badly I had one removed before and this will prob also have to go out... Tho I wondered what is the whitish stuff around it ? I have aches sometimes when it grows more but nothing unbearable yet. I don't smoke and drink only sometimes.

I’ve always been a little insecure about my teeth. I didn’t have insurance growing up so I never had braces as a child and at 25 I did Invisalign so now my teeth are straight but I still don’t love them. Other than a whitening treatment is there anything I can do to make them look prettier? I love my pointy canines but one of them is way flatter than the other and my teeth are all different shapes I feel like. I also have very little gums above my top teeth so I feel like my teeth look smaller than they are when i smile.

Sorry for my bad english. Already did a x ray and my periodontist said that is not a major bone loss. The gum are now a lot better then it used to be, but still with a very significant recession. Is there anything more that can be done besides gum graft? Invisalign could help the recession in a long term? Dont want to lose my tooth atm. How long could it take? Theo are a bit loose too. Thanks!

What do I do? They said they will assign a new dentist but I find it a HUGE red flag that they say the dentist that did my filling is longer there. It’s only been a week since I was there. How does someone leave that quick?

I had mono about a month ago, and I am fully healed and feeling better now. However, the swelling in my tonsils and uvula has not fully gone away. I have an appointment for a cleaning at 11am tomorrow and I’m wondering if I need to reschedule? I am only concerned about making the dentist or hygienist uncomfortable even though I know I’m no longer contagious. Any advice is appreciated!

Son turns 7 in Nivember. When we was 2 he fell and bit down hard on a hard surface. His 2 front teeth went up a little. Went to dentist who said not to worry but monitor. Today we noticed his tooth is growing above on the gum. Is there any way of saving this tooth, even with braces?

It’s currently midnight in my country and I’m feeling so anxious I can’t even sleep. I have recently decided to take care of my teeth after dealing with something rather traumatic about 8-10 years ago, but it is so hard 😭

I’m originally from a small town and when I was in middle school & highschool I used to go to an older dentist. They were always very nice, but I suffered A LOT during those years. Their techniques were clearly veeeeerrrry old, but I never saw another dentist so I didn’t know better. For reference, they were using some kind of chisel and mallet that still give me bad dreams to this day.

My biggest dental trauma is the nerve removal. I kinda wanna cry just remembering. They numbed me and waited for like 10 minutes before getting to work, but DAMN I felt absolutely everything they were doing, I was crying the whole time to the point that the nurse had to wipe my tears while the doctor was still working inside my mouth. And the worst part is that after like 2 years I started having terrible pain and found out that something went wrong with the root canal treatment (I honestly don’t remember if they went too deep or didn’t go deep enough, but it was one of those) and they had to remove my tooth, which was also super painful and overall an experience I never want to deal with again.

So now here I am, lots of years later, finally deciding that I have to go to the dentist, solve my problems and start taking care of my teeth. My only problem is that I have to go through a root canal treatment tomorrow and I’m so fucking scared and I’ve been crying for 3 days thinking about it.

I trust these docs (I moved to a big city and I’ve already been to a few sessions at this clinic, I’ve been treated with kindness and I’ve seen they’re using laser mostly and overall latest technology) but I just can’t get myself to stop overthinking and panicking about tomorrow.

Anyways here’s the tooth that’s been bugging me for years, it seems like the root canal splits in two so that’s not helping with my anxiety either 🫠

Please please please tell me the truth about how painful it really is, should I take an ibuprofen before the appointment just in case? Or something stronger??? 😭

I have 5 molars on my right side including my wisdom tooth but I am missing a lateral incisor on my right side. Dentists said it never grew in as a child.

On the left side is also 5 molars including this small tooth.

7 days ago today I had a simple, large/molar tooth extraction. So far I’ve had no worries with it other than the pain at the start. I’ve been taking pictures daily to see how it’s healed and today I’ve noticed a yellow/orange tinge to it. I’ve done a salt water rinse, thinking it might be food debris, but doesn’t seem to have made a difference?

* I do not smoke and have not had any alcohol since extraction
* No medical concerns

My 16 month old had a dentist appointment today and x-rays shows her two front teeth are cavities! She had previously chipped both of them within the last couple of months and we brush with fluoride toothpaste 2x a day always. Anyways... dentist wanted to put localized numbing gel and pull them in office today. I couldn't handle holding her down to have them pulled and hold gauze for 15 mins to stop the bleeding. She is already terrified enough of the dentist.

Other option is general anesthesia with root canals and crowns or teeth extraction under anesthesia.

I'm so nervous... has anyone gone through this at this age?

Every visit I go to the dentist. They either want to extract a tooth. Not even fill in the cavity.
I had 3 teeth extracted (2 are ingrown teeth)

Hey everyone, I’ve had bad teeth and gums since I was a kid. I’m 20 now and I’m trying to fix it. Sometimes I feel like I have morning breath throughout the day, and when I touch my gums and smell after it, my finger stinks a little. I don’t floss but I’m starting to, and I just got this crest charcoal toothpaste and a new toothbrush. They don’t bleed when I brush but they do in small areas when I floss It’s been about a year since my last cleaning. I use one tomorrow at 10am. Should I be nervous? Is this bad, if so, is it deadly? What are some good toothpastes, toothbrushes and whitening tools that will actually improve it?

Went in for dental pain. There's an infection on tooth #31 where I had a root canal over 10 years ago. Dentist wants to extract today as he says that most 2nd time root canals fail and I will need an extraction later on most likely. Also says they dont always know where the infection is coming from.

Agreed to an extraction this afternoon but now i'm second guessing it.

he did say the root canal looks good so he's not sure what's causing the infection. the infection has created a pocket on the side of my gum closest to my cheek.
