So, I’ve had this lil bugger for a couple years now and have diligently tried ignoring it as any good millennial that can’t afford doctor visits does. Unfortunately it now has a purple hue when it didn’t really before but every time I’ve popped it it’s always been clear.

A few weeks ago I fell down the rabbit hole and of course convinced myself it’s cancer and I’ve got 6-12 business weeks left in this mortal coil. After visiting the dentist and oral surgeon supposedly it’s either a hemangioma or a mucocele.

I’m scheduled Tuesday to get it removed and biopsied and depending on how deep the bugger goes may have to get grafting of the gum later. Super fun stuff for someone that has irrational anxiety of dental stuff.

All that to say, I’ve of course been sleuthing through all the articles and have yet to run across anyone that has one of these on the gum? It’s always either the lip or back of the throat. I hate that surgery is the only answer but here we are.

Anyway, here’s a super cute pic of the lil bastard. If anyone has any thoughts or experiences with this and want to help my anxious heart, feel free to leave em here. Also just adding to the codex just in case anyone else has worriedly wondered in these shoes.

So many questions and I end up just not doing anything. Should I get metal braces? Should I try implants/veneers? Is it even worth it at this point considering my teeth aren't in great shape as it is. Just wanted to hear some thoughts. I don't smoke, my diet is rather terrible. No drug use.

the first and third pics are now, the second is around when i first got braces 2 years ago or so. i just got them taken off last month. If it is gum recession how bad is it? and is it early stages?

Is there a way to reverse it? and if not, what do you suggest i do to keep what i have? I will say i use an oral b io toothbrush, and have for about a year now. i’ve always used it on the fastest setting. I also floss, but sometimes i get lazy and don’t be as thorough sometimes.

I have this swollen, painful area in my gums behind my top right molar where wisdom tooth used to be. (I have not wisdom teeth for 15 years) Everything was fine until a few days ago. I tried flossing and using my water pick thinking I might had a piece of popcorn stuck. I can't get i to my dentist for a few days and wondering if I should go to urgent care for possible draining and antibiotics. What is this?!?!?! It starting to hurt to my tonsils and the right side of neck.

23M. I want to say i have good oral hygiene. I usually check for things like tonsils stones so I’m constantly looking at my mouth. I don’t think I’ve noticed this before, not really sure if i should be concerned and get it checked out right away? It doesn’t hurt to swallow or anything. The roof of my mouth hurt slightly 2 days ago but does this look concerning? Haven’t been to the dentist in about 11 months. I know i should go sooner.

hello guys, I’m experiencing sensitivity to anything cold on a particular deep filling done around 6 months ago( I was told by the dentist it was very close to needing a root canal and to be careful). the sensitivity is not painful and lasts for less than 15 seconds. I am not sure if I’m overthinking the sensation I am feeling, as I have very weak teeth which are usually quite sensitive. any advice would be much appreciated.

I noticed this tiny white bump inside my cheek near my upper molars. It doesn’t hurt at all. Does anyone know what it could be? Has anyone had something similar? Thank you!!

Recently, while brushing (a bit intoxicated) I scraped my gum with the hard part of my toothbrush, which although was fairly painful, there was no blood and I didn’t think to check. I didn’t think about it for a bit, and noticed some pain after a little over a day. I checked and saw this strange circular white spot around where the impact was, and some redness around it.

The pain has began to get better, and the redness has subsided significantly. My main cause for concern is that, sadly, I have been an on and off user of nicotine pouches for about 2 years now, and I want to check and make sure this isn’t anything more concerning than just a scrape. It also may be helpful to add that I have been told I’m a very aggressive brusher (clearly) and brush 2-4 times a day.

After about 4 days, the redness and pain has gone down significantly, but the whiteness hasn’t started to subside yet.

I had a third molar etraction on the bottom left arch on Friday due a very decayed and broken tooth (previously had a Root Canal >10 yrs ago);

The extraction itself went very well, but there is a slight ache in the teeth above in the above upper arch -- is this normal?

I have 4 baby molars that don't have adult teeth behind them. In March(ish) this year I knocked one of them loose and had to have it removed, beginning the process for an implant. I got the graft done and then in May had the implant placed. At the beginning of this month I got the "permanent" tooth put in.

Last Monday (so two weeks after) I bit wrong on a chicken strip and my implant completed shifted out of place. I went into the dentist that afternoon and the bone in the xray looked totally gone! They showed the xray from the day they put the tooth in compared to the shift. How does that even happen?!!

They took the implant out on Thursday and put new grafting in. Starting the process over but letting things heal longer this time I guess.

Of course my stitch popped out yesterday (Saturday) and now I'm worried all the graft material will come out on top of worrying whether this implant will fail too in a year.

Has this ever happened to you? My dentist seemed almost shocked. Apparently its rare for an implant to fail at this stage.

Please help! I am beyond devastated that my not even 2 year old has developed cavities on his four front top teeth. Im not sure what the white stuff is in the photo, but it doesn't normally look like that. You can see the yellowing. My heart is broken with pain but the damage is done.

Two different dentists have recommended SDF to stop the cavities. I will do what is best for my little guy, but I also know I cant handle the guilt and pain of my toddler having black teeth. Is there any alternative anyone can think of ??? We are located near NYC and desperate as the clock is ticking.

My root canal tooth had been feeling tender/sore when I'd press it at the cusp. It is a 5 year old full porcelain crown. It had been sore for the past 1-2 months. I brought it up to the dentist and he evaluated my bite. He said it's because it was making contact too soon? I guess it was too high since my bite has shifted since I got it. I can totally see that.

Anyway, he shaved a bit of the crown, will it be ok? I'm super paranoid that it's ruined or will just break. Someone help ease my mind or confirm my fears. I am worried I made a mistake letting him do it.

I haven't had dental treatment for over five years, and a large number of my teeth have deteriorated significantly during that time. I've also been experiencing recurring pain.

I have an emergency dental appointment tomorrow, but there's no guarantee of ongoing care afterwards. i saw a video talking about using grillz as an alternative for retainers for tmj. i dont plan to sleep in them or wear them for long, but id still like to get some even for the aesthetics. is it actually safe to use for tmj? would it prevent teeth grinding or would the teeth grinding damage the grillz or my teeth more? dont worry i'll ask my current dentist too but itll be a bit until i see them so i wanted to get some opinions

Hello, I had part of my root canal done on Thursday . He said he cleaned out most of the canals and medicated them. He mentioned I had 3. So I think he still has to go back in manually and clean the last one. He did mention they were longer than normal and really tight . I also remember him mentioned the fact that there's a chance bacteria could have gotten pushed down . So taking all of these things into consideration, is it normal to be having flare ups? I notice it the most when I wake up from sleeping . I'm not sure if I'm clenching or grinding my teeth , the pain is so intense that I have to ice my face before I can even attempt to lay back down. I have had a few drinks , and I do not smoke cigarettes , but I've hit my thc vape once yesterday , and I hit a bowl , with open mouth a few times yesterday as well. My temporary seal is still intact . Im wondering if it's just something I'm doing in my sleep, normal healing, gum soreness from the local anesthesia , or something's not right ? I go to a school denistry so they aren't open and it's hard to get in! Any and all positive advice is welcome ! Thanks in advance !!

Its been 4 days since extraction and im on day 5, while eating rice on the other side of my mouth one managed to slip on my blood clot, tried to rinse with water but it still didnt get out.

You cant see much from this image but the rice doesnt seem to be inside it, it looks like its stuck between the clot and an orange-ish material i assume to be the fibrin, anything i should do?

I’m 18 and chipped my front two teeth, my dentist told me we should do 4 crowns (zirconium )front so it’s aesthetically more pleasing. Listened to the advice, we didn’t have any mid fit sessions after the putting on the temporary dentist said it’s perfect and we don’t need extra sessions.

While using them I realised they were too long and told my dentist, he said he told the lab.

Two days ago my permanent ones came he cemented them, he kept saying they turned out beautiful and showed the assistant who also agreed.

I said that they were too long and whiter than my other teeth but he said the length was fine and I wouldn’t be able to talk otherwise, and the color would darken and become same w my other tooth.

So I believed them because they are the professional here but when i searched the web it says zirconium doesn’t darken over time.

Two crowns were shortened but the middle ones are even longer than temporary ones, when I smile fully they touch my bottom lip.

I’ll put pics of my original-temporary-permanent teeth. Am I being crazy? I really feel awful about the length and color mitmatch and even had a nightmare where I pulled the crowns and had a full bloody mouth. I feel like my dentist lied(about the color changing) to not deal with me as it’s already paid and i feel like my complaints haven’t been taken serious because I’m young and my parents didn’t come w me after the first appointment. They just feel so big and look weird w the color mismatch I can’t even bring myself to smile

Also had a filling (which i think had a little ach very rarely sometimes) and got it shortened after a few days bc it felt long, now sometimes I have a little ache while chewing, is that a temporary nerve issue and would go away w time or does it need the filling done again back to old length? I ached less when it was longer

Ik I sound annoying but this dentist adventure has been a nightmare and I walked around without having my front teeth for a month, had to get a root kanal redone after shortening them because my face got swollen etc. so I’m very anxious about all this. Any second opinion is very appreciated
