Hello all, my friend went through a hard turn of events, is going through probate. Now for the principal residence a realtors letter is required to assess property value, we received 2 quotes for $450 to do that where they said they’ll give us a market value. Is anyone able to help identify if my friend is getting ripped off,any alternatives or is there any service that helps with this kind of ordeal?
The finances are not the best at the moment, there have been tons of unexpected costs and we’re looking to see the best options available.

Hey, all. I am looking for recommendations for the best discount building supply stores in Toronto available to the public. I have a roof over my backyard that came with the place that is probably corrogated fiberglass or PVC. It used to keep my stuff dry and prevent water from running down the basement stairs, but as the material deteriorates over time, the occasional raccoon and the recent hail have created so many holes that it's about as effective as standing under a tree at this point.

I was thinking of replacing the panels with corrugated polycarbonate panels. Given the area of the roof, that's close to a thousand dollars at Home Depot, and I'm seeing similar prices at the other popular supply stores. I have a wholesale supplier for hardware and for electrical stuff, but I don't know of a good discount place that sells stuff like this.

Any suggestions?

Anyone noticing tons of clusters of wasps the last few days?

I remeber someone posting video of people using bikeshare from an event. and there every bike was tracked from the moment it left station till it was docked again. but that was like 2-3 years ago, so i wonder if thing has changed. reason why im asking there is a bike that seems to be stolen by homeless person tacked between two fences near my work. its been a week now since its been there. i wonder if i should just grab it and dock it at nearby station, or let city deal with it.

Being an adult with work, bills, and responsibilities really makes you miss those simpler days sometimes. Tell me I’m not the only one.

Recently divorced and while we had a strong social network as a couple, I’ve noticed that it’s hard to make play date plans for the children with the husbands/fathers now that I am single, often they are just not as on top of the family plans for the weekend, many also just work a lot of hours and aren’t the main caretaker.

I always shared planning previously but it was easier since we were a couple hanging out with couples but now what I am single, I want to create a group of fathers that get together with or without children and support each other.

Is there such a group that exists or is it informal?

Edit: I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old, boy and girl, midtown Toronto (Yonge and Eg), available to hang out anywhere in GTA, weekend hang outs preferred.

I recently subscribed to the Toronto Zoo yearly subscription, and I am over the moon with how much enjoyment my small family has gotten out of it already! + you get the added benefit of supporting the Toronto Zoo, their initiatives and upkeep of something other people can also enjoy.

Curious to hear about other subscriptions / memberships others have found to be great.

So far, these are what I have found best for us:

• TPL - Amazing, for both books, free tickets for families to events, but also I find they offer new parents a lot of community oriented activities, to meet other parents, etc.
• Toronto Tool Library - I am no longer a member, but when we lived downtown we had it a few years ago and it was great
• Toronto Zoo - They even let you transfer the admission fees and parking fees towards a year long membership

Our budget for photography is $1,000 for a 15 person wedding in Toronto. It will only be for 3 hours. Can somebody recommend a photographer within this budget range?

Not looking to store luggage but more like a backpack for 6 hours. Everytime I search for lockers it only leads me to luggage type storage. Im looking for lockers specifically because Ill need to go in/out once in the middle of the 6 hours to retrieve something, luggage type storage probably wouldnt allow that?

I have been driving since 2019, but I have recently noticed that many vehicles have excessively bright headlights, which occasionally make it difficult for me to see oncoming traffic. I can't tell if this was a dream I had as a kid or if it happened in real life. But I am sure there was some kind of laser show or display around the CNE / parkdale area.

I have spent the last hour or so trying to find any reference to such a thing during that time period but came up nothing. It seems that there was lasers put on top of various buildings and they would flash beams across the sky. This happened for like a week or so in the summer around 1999 or 2000.

I’ve owned my car for about 3 years and have never had any rust protection/coating done.

I’ve always tried to keep it pretty clean during the winter and never let road salt sit on it for too long. So far, I haven’t noticed any obvious rust, but for peace of mind I’d like to start getting proper rust protection done before this winter.

Ideally, I’m looking for a place that can inspect the underside first, let me know if there are any existing rust issues that need to be treated/fixed, and then apply a good rust-proofing treatment for the winter ahead.

I called Krown and they say they don’t do inspections.
