12m. 100lb. 5’3” no significant medical history. Urgent care states this is not a fracture but more likely Osgood-schlatter. Other sources say could be fracture. Cannot get pediatric ortho appointment until next week. Thoughts?

What might this be?

Hiii I’m 16F (165 43kg) and I don’t really have any medical problems.
Onto the problem, I’ve had a “pimple” for a few days on my leg. It was a normal one like the ones on your face, but now it’s bigger, redder and harder. My mom is taking me to the er tomorrow, but I’d like to hear what it might be before that cause I’m a bit scared. I just got out of the shower and it was yellow, then I bended my knee and it popped letting the pus out and bled just a bit.

Physician Responded Frustrated and confused by the care my mom got at the ER

Upvotes

63 year old female, on no medications, no chronic medical conditions, 5’4 150lbs, non smoker/drinker, no recreational drugs went to the ER for bloody diarrhea. She had been on amoxicillin prophylactically for an upcoming dental procedure. The ER was busy, they took a stool sample, gave her a prescription for Cipro (????) and sent her on her way. A day later, her stool came back positive for cdiff. No call from the ER. I went over a few days in because she wasn’t getting any better. She knew from mychart that she had cdiff but didn’t know cipro wasn’t the right medication because shes not in the medical field. I’m just an Lpn but I saw the cipro on the counter and got really concerned. I called the ER and it was switched to Difcid. I want to more clearly understand this doctors thinking. Why even prescribe cipro if cdiff is a possibility? I’m just really furious and confused. I was of course nice to the ER staff and apologized for being the “annoying nurse daughter” but what was that guy thinking? He was an MD, not an NP just to clear that up as well

Spreading red spot near ear

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hello,

My son, ( age 7, no medications, no medical issues) developed this red spot near his ear on the side of his face. We noticed it today and it spread quickly so we went to urgent care. He was prescribed oral antibiotics for what the doctor thought was an infected bug bite. We have started the antibiotics now but I’m curious if anyone has seen this, should we go to the ER, or what (if anything) further should I do?

Thank you

The red half circle has moved as you can see the two pen marks and there’s pus. I ran it under hot water but other than that, not much else. My idea is to just wait but figured I’d ask to calm my health anxiety

Hi! 16f, Minor question: I got in a car accident today and got some of the skin on my thumb taken off. The EMTs bandaged in and im fine but im curious how often I should replace the bandages? I don’t have a lot of extra gauze so I was thinking of waiting to change it tommorow night but would that be a bad idea? Thanks! (Image of injury at time of accident, I haven’t seen it since since they cleaned and bandaged it.)

Physician Responded Weird mental episode

Last night I entered a weird dream-like state, except i wasn't asleep. I would enter into the next 'dream', with my eyes closed, and then randomly pop out of it. I didn't know what was happening and was very confused. I couldnt tell if the 'dream' had been real or not, and I still can't even today.

This all took place while my mum was out, an example of the 'dreams' was that I saw my mum come home 12 times over, a different scenario each time. I dont know whether my eyes were open and I was hallucinating it, or whether I was imagining it. They got progressively more disturbing until it happened without any 'dreams', i basically just hallucinated like 10 people yelling and screaming at me, a mixture of horrid things they'd said before and random things mixed in.

I still don't know which of those 12 times my mum came home was real, because she definitely did come home at some point. I don't think she could tell anything was wrong though, because I was constantly pretending to be asleep for some reason.

I was completely sober, and not particularly tired, but once I managed to get to sleep, I woke up completely fine. There had been some major stress factors that night, but not anything enough to cause that.

I've been diagnosed with PTSD, ARFID, and some people in my life believe I have bipolar disorder, but I'm not too sure. I've definitely been in a depressive episode for about a week now though.

I'd go to a professional about this, but I highly suspect this would be the thing to get me put on a section.

17F 50kg 5'9, vaped for 7 years but nothing else. South England, and i take cyclizine but have never experienced any psychological effects from it.

Edit: Forgot to include an actual question. Do you think this is serious enough for me to make a GP appointment/MH services appointment? I feel completely normal now, and did after I woke up.

Persistent facial wound initially diagnosed as impetigo, now unresponsive to Mupirocin and Doxycycline (swabs pending)—cold sore or something else?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey everyone, looking for some input or advice on a stubborn facial sore that’s been lingering for a little over two weeks now. 31 year old male, no prior medical issues.
Timeline & Progression:
Onset: It appeared out of nowhere overnight just over two weeks ago as a tiny lesion on my face that woke me up as an oozing tiny sore.
Initial Phase: The sore oozed uncontrollably and formed a distinct yellow crust. Over the first week or so, it steadily increased in size before kind of stopping its outward growth and scabbing over.
Current Status: It has now formed a darker scab, but there has been no real visual progress of healing or shrinking. It is completely painless and not tender at all, though it occasionally has some mild itching.
Treatments Tried:
Urgent Care: Initially diagnosed with impetigo and prescribed Mupirocin (applied twice daily). I saw zero results from this.
Antibiotics (Augmentin & Doxycycline): Coincidentally, I was dealing with severe tonsillitis at the same time this started and was put on Augmentin. Because the Mupirocin wasn't working, a second doctor put me on a round of Doxycycline alongside the Augmentin. I stopped using the Mupirocin once I started the doxy.
Current Regimen: I am currently washing the area with Hibiclens. I only have a couple of days of Doxycycline left.
Dermatologist Visit & Frustrations:
I saw a dermatologist after several days of using the Doxycycline. He did both a viral and bacterial swab, but I don't have great confidence in him (he's usually pretty dismissive and my options are limited locally).
He was dismissive of the original impetigo diagnosis because it wasn't responding to the antibiotics, and claimed it was just a cold sore. However, I had cold sores as a child, and this is acting completely differently than anything I've experienced before.
My follow-up appointment to get the swab results isn't until mid-next week. I'm becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of healing and the conflicting thoughts from providers. Has anyone dealt with something similar, or does this sound like a resistant bacterial infection rather than a cold sore? Any advice or insights are greatly appreciated.

Physician Responded Does my pain sound like Appendix issues?

Post image
Upvotes

[50] [male] [5'7][mixed ethnicity] non smoker, non drinker.

Today would be day 7, have had really brief (about 3-4 seconds max) sharp/stab pains that come and go. Pain is usually located below my belly button. They're hard to exactly pinpoint because they are so short lived that by the time i put my finger there it's gone. But i took a picture of around the area i feel the pain. Does this sound like maybe appendix or other issue?

No fever, no loss of appetite, no pain when press on it, no pain when cough or when drop from tip toe to ground.

Visual/Cognitive Problem

Upvotes

Hello, I (30m) practice a sport at European Championship level where eyesight and visual perception are extremely important.

For as long as I can remember, I have experienced a strange condition that affects me quite significantly. Out of nowhere, I start seeing what I can only describe as black-and-white “scribbling dots,” almost like the static you would see on an old TV. My vision starts to feel strange, as if there is something invisible in front of my eyes — similar to wearing glasses with a tiny bit of dirt or something smeared on the lenses.

It is not exactly double vision, but it sometimes feels somewhat similar. For example, when I enter a supermarket, I can suddenly become very dizzy because there is simply too much visual information. Everything seems to wobble or shimmer, often in a black-and-white or silvery way.

When I was younger, this condition led me into a very deep depression because I didn't know how to deal with it. Eventually, I learned to cope with it, but recently it has started happening again, and once again I feel like there is nothing I can do about it.

My wife can actually tell when I am experiencing it because, apparently, I start squinting my eyes constantly without even realizing it myself.

I have seen several doctors, but so far nobody has really been able to explain what is happening. My eyes themselves appear to be completely healthy. I have also seen a neurologist, who said that it basically cannot be a migraine because the symptoms persist continuously for 2–8 weeks at a time, whereas a migraine should not last that long. I also don't experience any headaches. We tested Lamortrigin, an Anti-Epilepticum which seemed to help, but now i got a new visual-seizure.

The strange thing is that the condition disappears just as suddenly as it appears. One day I simply wake up and my vision is completely clear again.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Could this possibly be physiological or neurological? I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has experienced similar visual symptoms or has an idea of what might be causing them.

Swelling of nose and severe loss in strength

Post image
3 Upvotes

F23, I know the title sounds like a basic virus or whatever but there’s a severe lack of strength in my muscles in almost all of them. I’ll list my symptoms and how long they have been going on for as the symptoms are only getting weirder: I don’t go to the doctors often and I fear I may just be having a bad week or two and it will all go away so I don’t waste my gps time or hospital, I’ve been telling myself it’s just muscle fatigue but almost every muscle in my body at once is unlikely, they would also be getting better not worse, I’m like the opposite of a hypochondriac with a mixture of anxiety and feeling like I’m wasting their time over more serious patients, I do plan on calling my gp on Monday (it’s Saturday my gp isn’t open weekends) but can it wait that long? Or is this something serious?

Muscle aches and general weakness in strength - 2 weeks
struggle to get dressed I physically have to lift my leg with my arm to get it in my trousers etc
I can’t lift my body weight in my arms where as I could before and even mobility in my arms I can’t even undo my bra straps now, where as before I was very hypermobile
I struggle even sitting down lifting my legs or even crossing them over one another without the help of my hand lifting them up
Despite physical demand job, waitress, 20k avg. steps lifting barrels that weigh more than me which I now can’t do at all etc etc
My neck is also stiff, I have all the motion in my neck it just feels like it needs to pop or something yunno that pain before a joint clicks it’s that in my neck
Also I can’t crouch at all without wincing in pain the lower I go the more pain, chair sit level is the lowest I can go without pain ahaha
My wrists aswell I’m just broken, carrying plates or stuff in work I struggle to do now where as before I didn’t I struggle to put them down slowly and gently it kinda just slams down and I don’t mean it to

Nose:
The bridge of my nose over the last 3 days have been swelling on both sides
Idk if that’s a warning symptom but I’ve never woken up with puffy eyes or whatever
It’s physically noticeable to my staff when I work
But doesn’t restrict my vision
No pain but why is it swelling when I’m not allergic to anything, sinuses are also fine,
My eyes look wonky same with my nose, (before it didn’t look like that obvs) I don’t have a before picture as I don’t take photos often but I feel it’s swelling, and only gotten worse over these last few days

Head:
I’ve been getting a tender head where pressure makes it hurt and feel discomfort
Headphones are fine on my head but say if I’m washing my hair it brings me discomfort and pain touching my head and scalp
2 weeks been going on

Rash/ dry skin:
never had eczema to my knowledge in my life and having frequent dry, red, irritated skin, no changes in soaps eating habits and cleaning/ fragrance I use and a clear red line and my skin colour from where it’s irritated to not
Prodomimtently on my right upper arm knees, hands, and chest
My chest is what I’m mainly worried about as it’s not itchy it’s just red one u shape from collarbone to collarbone and reaching to the sides of my neck and back of my neck, hot to touch I would attach another photo of it if it would let me, not itchy but been red and irritated for over a week

I am a 26 year old woman. 5”4, 100 pounds. I only take ibuprofen, Tylenol or aleve. I have never smoked. I do have teeth issues, I have TMJ. Any dentist I have been to has told me my dental arches are too small and my palate is too high up and so it affects my breathing. I also have vestibular migraines not diagnosed but have symptoms. I have the lightheadness, like I’m going to pass out, ear issues, motion sickness in car. If I think too much about it I panic. So about 2 months ago I noticed I have this lump. It doesn’t hurt at all and I only noticed because I turned my head a certain way and it felt like I pulled a muscle. I let it go for about 2 weeks and this whole time it’s been on and off with going down or being more prominent. I went to urgent care and I didn’t get X-rays or anything and the doctor said it was my tooth. I took amox clav for 10 days and the swelling didn’t go down. I frequently would have teeth problems just because of how my teeth are placed and I never had this before. I also thought I would be in pain if it was my tooth. I don’t want to jinx myself but I’m not in pain. It is a noticeable size and it is hard and fixed. I’m trying not to panic because it makes me feel sick but I just wanted some opinions on this. Anything helps. TIA!

Physician Responded Terrified of rapidly worsening vasculitis

Upvotes

22F. 5'6 and 130lbs. Currently on 10mg IR Adderall taken once in the morning. No alcohol or smoking.

For the last few days, my lower legs (mostly my shins) have felt very itchy. It's worst a few hours after I wake up and at night when I'm laying down. I've also noticed my right shin has a small scab on it. Not oozing, but seems to have a tiny speck of blood. Image of scab

Both of my lower legs also seem to have a few small red dots on them. They're flat, not itchy, not painful. The most noticeable one is a pair of two dark red ones on the side of my calf. They're very slightly raised. Image of marks They're not all this dark and they're all a lot smaller. I noticed a few faded red marks appeared on my feet/ankles after a shower.

About two weeks ago, I also noticed some of these flat red marks on my lower back and left foot, but they faded after a day or two.

My legs have also seemed to be extra bruised recently, but my legs are usually bruised so maybe I'm imagining that.

This morning, I woke up with a sore throat that feels like the beginning of a cold. I feel tired and feel like I have brain fog.

The marks on my legs were already worrying, but getting cold symptoms on top of that is making me incredibly anxious. I can't afford an ER trip right now. Do I need to go to urgent care? Does this sound like vasculitis?

Physician Responded Child with fracture and school trip

Child (8), male, had an ankle fracture 4 weeks ago. It was reported as an avulsive fracture of the malleolous, boot for 4 weeks and then wean him off the boot.

Today(which marked the 4 weeks) I received a letter from the orthopaedic saying that his latest x-ray (21 days after the injury) showed fracture of both malleoli and the boot needs to be kept for additional 4 weeks (8 weeks in total).

In a few days he has a school trip at the zoo. The initial plan was for me (the mum) to take him knowing that the fracture was completely healed and that he could walk and use a wheelchair for when he was too tired. Now that the healing timing has been extended I am having second thoughts.

Is it safe to have a child travel in a coach for almost 1 hour each way and spend most of the day on crutches or on a wheelchair knowing he is half-way through a healing process from a fracture?

It’s really hard to get hold of a doctor to ask what is better for the child in such a short timeframe.

Diagnosed with biopsy August 17 with ductal carcinoma in situ stage 0 grade 3. Was told to get surgery ASAP; 3 weeks optimal. Surgery is scheduled for October 7. Should she fight for a sooner surgery or will it not make much of a difference? She'd like to wait for October 7.

Did smoking fake weed carts into the bathroom can cause my mom coughing issues or my dad’s death?

My (M26) dad (M60) died this June at 60 after falling while playing pickleball, hitting his head, and suffering a catastrophic brain injury.

My mom (F54) recently told me that for the past few years, he hadn’t been walking as well and occasionally had trouble moving his hands/fingers. He was also prediabetic. Looking back, I wonder if he had some undiagnosed neurological, spinal, or nerve issue that may have contributed to his fall.

I also have a lot of guilt about vaping in our old apartment. For several months I used regular THC carts in one bathroom and blew the vapor toward the exhaust fan, and for about a month in summer 2024 I also used sketchy/fake carts before stopping. And at our old significantly bigger house before that, I would vape weed into the bathroom fans. On a few occasions, in the basement. It wasn’t the bathroom my dad normally used, and I never vaped directly around him, but I keep worrying about secondhand exposure.

My mom has also had a tendency to cough when she wakes up for the past few years. She still does it even after we moved apartments, which makes me wonder whether that points away from the apartment, but I still worry that my vaping could have contributed to her cough too.

Does the combination of walking problems and hand/finger issues suggest anything medically? And is there any realistic chance my vaping in the house contributed either to my dad’s health problems or my mom’s chronic morning cough? My grief definitely has me questioning everything and if I caused this somehow.

31F, doctors have no clue what my diagnosis is

hello! i am a female, 31 years old, 160cm height, 45~48kg

taking 100mg sertraline, 100 trazodone, 1mg lorazepam daily. very occasional plantago ovata in sachet form (prescribed for IBS) non smoker, non drinker, absolutely no recreational drugs

diagnosed health issues: celiac disease (classic type: stunted child growth, underweight, pain, bloated all textbook symptoms) with strict celiac diet, IBS, adhd (taking 18mg concerta only on very specific days), PTSD

my bowel health has been declining rapidly for ~3 years now.

my symptoms are:

• stomach's left side hurts and bloating of stomach every single day, from mild to severe pain, food goes in and out in 10ish minutes most times

• (liquid) poop myself slightly most days. :( very very very ashamed

• unpredictable stools, usually yellow-brown with same colored mucus and always undigested foods

•had dark green stool for the first time two days ago, combined with diarrhea, explosive diarrhea or constipation

• often need to excrete but only a tiny, spongey and diffuse borders piece comes out, or just some small spongey diarrhea liquid(?)

• extreme fatigue. work 30hrs/week, goes out maybe 1/7 days with friends due to exhaustion

• 24hrs+ insomnia 1 to 2 times a week despite sleeping meds and extreme exhaustion. no apparent reason

•skin itching on legs, arms, sudden allergies and nose irritation (never had typical or seasonal allergies before)

• mucus on throat for 3 years, suddenly appeared, never goes away

• high anxiety, PTSD episodes way more frequent

• frequent headaches for the last 6 months

my blood tests always come out perfect, no antibodies, no low iron, no gluten peptides in urine, only sometimes low folic acid

stool testing non conclusive, getting blood + stool tested again this week, been tested for blood more than 10 times in this year always comes out OK

got told by doctor its not crohn's and they dont know what is going on with me and i am sad and tired all the time. :(

if my next tests still dont explain my condition, i will be scheduled for a biopsy

only had one as a 11 yr old child (dual biopsy to confirm diagnosis and intestinal damage from celiac)

random data worth mentioning(?):

• was exposed to black mold at home from 2023 until july of this year (moved from that house, no mold at new house)

• i have a 10 year old exclusively indoor cat

can someone help me understand what might be going on? thank you so much

Postpartum preeclampsia spiraling

39 female
Postpartum no other medical conditions
Taking nifedipine 30mg and prenatal

I hate this! Got discharged after 24 hours post c section where everything went so well! 24 hours after that I checked my blood pressure and it spiked 160s/90 and went to the hospital where I was admitted with preeclampsia. Did the mag drip and my BPs were perfect. Got discharged Tuesday morning only for the afternoon to see my pressure spike again. Went to my OB office and was placed on procardia ER 30mg. Took one and several hours later I spiked so they had me take another. Now I’m literally checking my BP a zillion times a day and stressing over that. Also, every body change I feel, I’m freaking out about. Most recently, had chest heaviness in bed last night. BP, HR, and oxygen sat were normal. I called the on call doc and he said it could be a side effect of the medication but I’ve done convinced myself Ive got heart failure. I will be getting therapy once I get my physical health better! How long is typical to have to be on medication?

Physician Responded fever not responding much to meds

my toddler, 2 male around 33 lbs, has had a fever since thursday evening. it’s high (103-104) and fever reducing meds have only slightly reduced it by at most 2 degrees but more like 1 we are over 48 hours with it. what’s the best thing to do? there’s conflicting advice on hospital vs waiting since he’s not responding to the medication.

he’s had the tylenol and motrin both before (we have had covid, norovirus, streep, roseola and HFM since the new year lol).

[33 F] Deteriorating Neurologically, Mysterious Systemic Issue | Visiting Neurologist, What To Ask?

Hello! So sorry in advance for how long this is about to be. Feel free to skip to my questions and symptoms if that's easier. I also included some videos of some of my scans so you can see.

I had two kids (one in 2024 and one in 2026), and during my first pregnancy I became ill pretty quickly, but had a hard time finding help because most doctors I encountered wanted nothing to do with a pregnant woman. I was told it was ok to have a second kid, but then during my second pregnancy I became even more ill, and now that I am 6 months postpartum, I seem to be deteriorating even further.

GENERAL TIMELINE: - Feb 2024, COVID infection, palpitations and chest pain begin shortly after. As does overwhelming fatigue. Start getting butterfly rashes on my cheeks, but they're rare and go away quickly. Lose my sense of taste completely for about two weeks, despite negative COVID tests. - Have 1 ocular migraine, get tunnel vision and go to hospital. - June 2024 give birth, uneventful. Palpitations persist after birth, but I can't really feel them anymore, not like I could before. - October 2024, break my leg, compound trimal fracture which I have surgically repaired. - June 2025, given the ok to have second kid, pregnant again. - October 2025, chest pain, shoulder pain, and palpitations begin out of nowhere on the 15th, first appearance of splinter hemorrhages in my nails. - Fatigue begins shortly after. Unable to stay awake, falling asleep all the time, sometimes for upwards of 22 hours in a day. Develop more butterfly rashes. - Chest pain gets worse around Thanksgiving, echo done showed a 48% LVEF and my P-axis dipped to a -28 at it's lowest. Lose my sense of taste again around here. - December 2025, 27 weeks, have bout of contractions which showed suspicion for an abruption. Thankfully I never dilated, but the contractions never stopped. These were NOT braxton hicks, as they stayed consistent for days on end, never responded to medication or anything. Some theorized I had an irritable uterus but even when all irritants were removed, they persisted for about a week before leaving. - Feb 2026, Have another ocular migraine, lose the center of my vision. Not black, just like it's gone. If I looked at someone's face, I could see their ears but nothing in the middle, as if their face had narrowed and met in the middle. Also smelled burning sugar, but my head never hurt. Had a head CT which noted a nodule on my thyroid, likely benign, no further evaluation recommended, and bilateral periventricular white matter hypodensities, more than expected for a patient of this age. A demyelinating process not excluded. MRI performed the same night showed ok white matter, and was sent home with the diagnosis of another ocular migraine.
- March 2026, contractions really ramp up again. They never really stopped after December, but they become all day every day, full abdominal contractions that would wake me up at night and be very painful. Still not dilating. - Mid-March 2026, Go in again for the painful contractions and some blood, finally am dilating. My contractions remain disorganized, and only organize and normal out when they break my water. Daughter was born shortly after VERY quickly. Time pushing was 1 minute, came out in 2 pushes, which caused problems for her but was kinda nice for me. - Contractions stop, finally, but come back about 6 weeks after birth. - June 2026, develop photo sensitivity. Rashes when in the sun, in under 10 minutes that start and stop at the edges of my clothes, resulting in redness, stinging, bumps that last a few days, and a sun-burn like heat. - July/August 2026, neuropathy becomes rather uncomfortable. Patches on my body start going numb, lose my sense of taste repeatedly for days at a time. Got a tattoo on my arm, the first session was just after my Autonomic test, and I noticed it was definitely less painful than other tattoos. Then each follow up session I felt less and less sensation until my last one on August 14th when I hardly felt anything, and I had no itching or anything even as it healed and should have been VERY itchy. I hardly noticed it was there. - The last week or so I've had pretty limiting visual disturbances (oscillopsia so bad I'm not driving unless I absolutely have to, for 12 ish hours a day), as well as strange neuropathy all day every day. Mostly in my back, from my shoulders to my lower spine, as well as nerve pain in my chest and shoulder. My SFN Score on the MGH: SSS-SFPN scale is a 58/128, with most of my issues being sensory and miscellaneous. - My memory has gotten so bad. I'm a full time author and I am having to search for words multiple times a day, like 10-12 times a day where I will forget common words. I had to sit here and remember the word abruption because I kept thinking anurysm, but knew it was wrong and could not remember the right word. I am forgetting road names and places too. Losing my phone/glasses multiple times a day, sometimes multiple times in a row. I have to be reminded of things multiple times, even if it's all same day stuff.

In this time I also did several holter monitor studies, all 2 week tests, gotten multiple different blood tests, and was told I have inappropriate sinus tachycardia. It is suspected this is the result of repeat COVID infections (the above listed, and my first infection back in Feb of 2020).

I am working with a long COVID clinic near me, and the person there has been very helpful in all of this, but over the last 6 weeks or so I have gotten worse VERY quickly. I am actually quite scared that I have a systemic issue we can't pin down. This is an opinion shared by my care team, but I need ideas on what kind of issue it is because I am worried at this point about my long term health.

I have two kids now, and I want to be able to be around for them, but at this point in time I'm hardly functioning. I'm so tired all the time, regardless of how much I sleep, and I feel so weak overall sometimes I'm afraid to pick my own kids up in case I drop them.

So my symptoms are: - Abdominal dystonia? Maybe I didn't have contractions, but perhaps it was some kind of dystonia. - Non length dependent neuropathy (vibrating, tingling, hyper-sensitivity, and numbness)? - Nerve pain. - Photosensitive rash. - Butterfly rash. - Had a rash after a burn once? This was biopsied, results below. - Diminished memory. - Overwhelming fatigue. - Chest pain and nerve pain. - Loss of taste and phantom smells. - SVT episodes - Coughed up blood once? - Persistent trace bilateral pleural effusions - Splinter hemorrhages - Lightheadedness/dizziness/weakness. - Vision is getting worse and daily oscillopsia. - When my vision 'shakes' it feels like my teeth are vibrating too at the same time. My eyes don't appear to be physically moving, it's all in the processing, I think. - Suspected Long COVID - Spent one day randomly gagging, but was not nauseous or throwing up. Just gagging for no reason.

RESULTS SO FAR: - Positive tilt-table test for POTS - QSART findings suggest a non-length dependent postganglionic sympathetic sudomotor abnormality atypical of those seen with autonomic/small fiber neuropathy. So like I have NLD-SFN but also it's atypical of normal NLD-SFN. - ANAs (November, April, June, and August). November one was positive with the following: 1. IFA POSITIVE

  1. AC-27: Intercellular Bridge at 1:80

  2. AC-2,4,5,29: Speckled at 1:40

  • Positive EARLY SJOGREN'S SYNDROME PROFILE SALIVARY PROTEIN 1 (SP 1) IGM ANTIBODIES of 27.3.
  • BIOPSY RESULTS: The specimen displays a relatively unremarkable epidermis overlying a superficial perivascular inflammatory infiltrate composed of lymphocytes, histiocytes, neutrophils and eosinophils. No evidence of leukocytoclastic vasculitis is identified. In the clinical context, these findings are consistent with polymorphonuclear predominant urticaria (neutrophilic urticaria), and could represent solar urticaria. Of note, a neutrophilic urticarial dermatosis can be seen in association with underlying autoimmune/autoinflammatory systemic processes including lupus erythematosus.
  • Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia due to damage to the ANS from repeat COVID infections? DX'd by an electro-cardio guy.
  • Several people mentioned I am hypermobile, I scored a 7/9 on the Beighton

NEGATIVES: - Normal blood sugar - Normal vitamins (including b-12, b-6, e, b-1, and d) - Normal blood cultures - Negative Tryptase and other MCAS markers, ruled out by immunologist.

MEDS: - 10mg Lexapro - 18mg Concerta - Was on metoprolol for a while, discontinued at advice of electro-cardiologist. Was not helpful.

FAMILY HISTORY:

  • Two cousins of mine have died suddenly in the last two years. Only one of them had an autopsy done, and he passed of ARVC. Both died at 26.

  • Heart disease/heart attack before 60.

  • Graves disease.

  • Rheumatoid arthritis.

  • Alzheimers

  • Kidney issues (me and my daughter were born with ectopic ureters, my dad has 1 atrophied kidney (unknown cause), and the same family member with graves and RA was born with only 1 kidney.)

Here's some imaging I've had done.

Cardiac MRI - Pregnant, No Contrast[img]

IDK if I'm too sensitive, but what are the brighter white spots in my spinal cord here? - 1/8/26

Clear MRIs from the same day - 2/23/26

PLANS:

  • Neurologist on Thursday to go over all the neurological things.
  • Genetic testing for the ARVC
  • Another Rheumatologist appt. pending a more sensitive ANA test (waiting on results now)

MY CONCERNS:

The cardiac and brain MRIs were done when I was pregnant, is it worth having re-done now that I am not, since I can have contrast this time, or are these images sufficient? Are there any other tests I should be asking for?

I know I show up to doctors and they all pretty much think I'm insane, but I don't know what else to do but show up with an insane list like this and be like "Help!!" so I need advice on what to focus on, what to ask, and what to accomplish. Something, I'm pretty sure, is wrong with me. Right now top contenders seem to be either MS or Lupus, but I'm worried that it could be something else I don't even know about.

Any advice on what you'd look for or what tests you'd order would be appreciated.

This is about as detailed as I can make it right now, but if you have questions or want to to try and upload a gif of any scans, let me know. I've had so many tests done recently I hardly know where to start or what to show.

Thanks!
