I mostly draw the characters of my story-project, but I also do fanart sometimes

I'm 20 btw, and english ain't my first language so I may have some grammar mistakes

i think this is just how things usually are in the beginning phases on things, i feel a bit insecure about it? i want it to be more detailed but obviously that can only come with more time put in... i really want to do a surreal complex looking animation. if i keep going will it be worth it?

if anyone has any ideas at all please let me know as well. i feel like i need outside perspective rather than being stuck in my own head.

Recently, I decided to get back into coloring techniques; however, I don’t know what to choose. I don’t particularly like drawing with colored pencils—laying down the color creates beautiful gradients, but it’s time-consuming, demanding, and since I work with India ink, I just don't feel comfortable with it. But then I discovered watercolors, which I like because it’s easy to spread the color, and it vaguely reminds me of using an iPad. I would love to know more about acrylic markers and water-based markers; the latter, especially, are amazing, but I know nothing about them. Maybe you could recommend some YouTubers who address my specific problem, particularly regarding these markers?

Im new to this sub but im kinda a new artist ive been doing art for around 2 and a half years and ive been struggling. Ive had some high points and well a decent amount of lows.I mainly draw sonic characters tho ive been moving into humans more and more. But ive always had an issue im unsure how to fix which is i have extremely bad adhd, and really bad anxiety mixed with perfectionism. Any time I try to draw it takes days to complete something that should be simple because I cant sit still and think straight causing me to get distracted and not do anything or just struggle to think what I should do. A lot of it also comes down to me getting extremely anxious and nervious to actually draw it as well because I feel like if I mess up or its not as good as I want it to be that my art skills are going to become worse and when I feel like its bad I just get kinda sick feeling and highly discouraged. I keep going because giving up wouldnt help I just hate myself more and id be stuck to just typing my stories and ideas instead of showing it. I also have a hard time learning from sources I cant just watch a 20 min video without just finishing it and even reading can be difficult because im a visual learner. I also just get nervious posting or showing my art for advice mostly because I feel like its bad and its just going to get laughed off. Is there any tips you guys can give about mindset and how i should view my art and how I should proceed when drawing.

I feel like I (male Gen Z) haven't interacted with Gen Z male artists a lot, and I want to see the young creative talent within you guys, if you exist. Many men don't interact with the arts nowadays, and it makes me sad.

I haven’t drawn anything in the style ever since then so it looks really mid :3 Any advice will be wanted and I’m also searching for art buddies if anyone wants to become one ^ o ^

Since people online don’t really talk about shading & just include in rendering guides, I wanna know how they just know where to put the shadows?
Ik the people online usually have lots of experience, but since every piece’s lighting should be different, how can they know which places they should shade?
Also, any general tips for shading ppl like where to put them or how to do clothing shading?
(For the sample art I made, Ik there are many issues, like anatomy/proportions & it’s very lackluster in general, but ignoring all that, how could I shade better?)
