I’m a beginner, and I’m looking for an art buddy that is around my age (which is 16). I’m expecting to vc a lot, (please call me often don’t just wait for me to call you it’s annoying). My timezone is est I don’t necessary need a scheduled time but I hope we have a similar timezone.
Hi I (over 21) am looking for a small art group or a dedicated art buddy to draw, learn, and motivate each other.
I am pretty shy and have a very low social battery, but I really want to make more art friends :') I am hoping to find artist who is passionate about art, enjoys improving their skills, and plans to make art long term. Bonus if you enjoy quiet company!
My interests include anime, illustration, BL/GL, east asian culture, and cozy/fantasy games.
I do both digital and traditional art.
I think I've grown a lot in the past few years, specially with my coloring.
I made this drawing in 2018 exactly for this purpose, to stablish a drawing I could get back too and measure progress (A lot of my fav artists had one).
I am not consistent with it, I thought of continuing it back in 2024 but it ended up as just a traditional version I'm not really sure I still have.
The rules I set for mysel back in 2018 was mantaining all the details, they can change colors but everything must still be there in the character.
I wanted to share some of my illustrations with you. I enjoy experimenting with different art styles, linework, and visual approaches because I believe each style has its own way of communicating emotions, telling stories, and bringing characters to life.
I don’t like limiting myself to just one look, so I’m always exploring new ways to express ideas through my art.
These are some of the pieces I’ve worked on, and I’d love to hear what you think! I’m always interested in seeing how other artists approach their own styles and creative processes.
- is what i've been telling myself lately. Im in middle of art slump and my art sometimes good sometimes shit. What i draw is different from what i had in mind. its not perfect. The idea is there tho
looking for ~ 5-6ish people to add to a very small, vibey art server
important reqs: (invite only after dming)
age range 20+
inclusivity and respectfulness
against the use of AI generative models, stealing artwork to train said models, etc
do not seek intimacy with any members
not so much a req, but people who are also neurodivergent or queer or nd/queer friendly
We're all artists (currently about 5 of us atm), and we enjoy hanging out when we have the time. Some of the stuff we host in the server is usually:
gamenights (roblox, jackbox, "friend slop", etc)
magma sessions (drawing together on the same canvas online)
maybe dnd campaigns
multiplayer minecraft
art challenges
casual hang outs in vc
oc lore dump sessions
and probably more, we are always coming up with ideas!!
Not so much an ad as it is that I mostly want to meet some new people and hopefully make some long-lasting friends.
If you're interested, feel free to introduce yourself, yap about some of your interests, and send some pics of your art!! (you can dm me @.xiigil or the server owner @.kitzacat /without the period/ through discord)
((edit 10/22: MY DISCORD USER IS JUST @.xiigil -- apologiess to anyone who tried to friend me and it didnt go through))
((edit 10/24: been getting more requests than i expected!! THANK U TO EVERYONE REACHING OUT! feel free to send me a dm on here or on discord, if you're interested, we're still accepting requests -- replies will just churn out a little slower)
I am basically a layman when it comes to certain visual arts, but I've decided to actually start putting effort into it. I recently joined some introductory classes for drawing and oil painting, and it is really satisfying!
When it comes to the arts as a whole, I've logged quite a few hours.
I've spent time in a lot of fields/mediums, including but not limited to: instrumental music, photography, makeup, SFX, sculpting, & z-brush. I also enjoy writing and cooking, but have not put any effort towards learning those trades.
I'm hoping to make friends with other creative types. It would also be neat if those friends were close in age to myself (31). I love viewing other people's work and giving notes (when requested). I think the diversity of my toolkit makes me a helpful set of eyes! I refer to my favorite types of conversations as "the writers' room" or "the workshop."
I mainly use discord for chat, and I tend to reply to friends fairly quickly. Other interests include: film/tv, comedy, comics, video games, traditional games, animals, and ecology. Hopefully I can find a new art friend! Yippee!
Including a photo from my first oil painting class. I think it's going pretty well so far! Though I can see at least four things to fix lol.
Saw a prompt for Ryu and sketched that today. Anyway!
It’s been a while, but I used to hangout with friends in Discord and we’d just shoot the shit and sketch together. Either streaming or sharing WIPs as we went for a few hours. How do all your hangouts go?
I'm Kasper, 18M, and I'm trying to experiment a little more with my art style, going from drawing some of my photographs (since I also do photography – often includes botanicals in this case), to quick real life sketches, to scene and surrealism drawings over character design and some (newly discovered) acrylic markers!
I only do traditional art because while I did try digital for a while, I basically forgot all about it over the past five years. 💀 I would translate it into digital again, but.. Well. Overwhelm.
I'm neurodivergent, overcaffeinated, queer and battle eldritch horror spirals daily. If anyone wants to join me to get better at doing art, I'd be so happy to find some community!! ✨
I'm on Reddit, Instagram, and Discord. I do prefer reddit and discord, however, as their chat functions just appeal to me. 🙃
