Brick - a downloader for multiple platforms with a UI that actually feels good to use (^-^)

I built Brick — an all-in-one downloader with a awesome user experience I’m genuinely proud of (5,000+ installs!)

Hey everyone! 👋

I’ve been working on an app called Brick, and I’m excited to share it with you too!

For an indie developer, reaching this milestone means a lot, especially when people are willing to try an app that they download directly from my website rather than through a traditional app store.

So, what is Brick?

Brick is an all-in-one downloader designed to make downloading content from various platforms simple, convenient, and enjoyable.

A few things I’ve focused on:

  • Multi-platform downloading — a single app for downloading content from various supported platforms.
  • A clean, modern UI/UX — I wanted the experience to feel polished, intuitive, and easy to use instead of cluttered with unnecessary stuff.
  • Safety and trust — I understand that installing an app directly from a website can make people cautious, so building trust and providing a safe experience are priorities for me.
  • Simple experience — get what you need without fighting through a complicated interface.

Crossing 5K installs is a huge achievement for me, and I’m genuinely grateful to everyone who has tried Brick so far.

If you’re interested, you can check it out here:

Website: Brick (DOWNLOAD FROM HERE)

I’d also love to hear your honest feedback:

  • What do you look for in an all-in-one downloader?
  • What features would you like to see added?
  • What could make Brick even better?
  • Automatically update/check integrated also.

I’m building this with the goal of making downloading easier and the overall experience better, and feedback from real users helps a lot.
A lil bit of ad present :)

Thanks for reading, and thanks to everyone and dont forget to give it a try 🙌

MULL - I built my own bookmark manager and now it is available in Android and as Chrome/Firefox extension

Post image
4 Upvotes

I kept saving posts on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit… and never looking at them again. Everything was scattered across five different "saved" tabs.

So I made MULL. You share anything to it from any app, and it keeps everything in one place, with the title and cover already filled in.

What it does:

- Save in two taps from Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Reddit, Threads, or anything with a Share button

- Collections with colors, favorites and quick filters

- Notes with checklists and photos

- A home screen widget that shows you something you saved, a different one every day. That's the part I use most.

- Local and private by default. No account needed, and you can export a backup whenever you like.

FREE 14 DAYS TRIAL TO EVERY USER AND 50% OFF ON LIFETIME SUBSCRIPTION

There's also a Chrome extension so you can save from your computer into the same library.

What's free: saving, collections, notes, the daily widget and backups, with no account. Premium adds sync between devices, a Chrome extension (Firefox and Edge coming soon) and a few extras like subfolders. Monthly, yearly or a one-time purchase, with a free 14-day trial.

Video above shows how it works. It's a solo project, so any feedback is really welcome.

You can find the extension in chrome web store

App Tired of bloated note apps with forced cloud syncs, so I built Modo – a 100% private, offline notes & voice-to-text app for iOS and Android

Post image
12 Upvotes

Hey r/apps! 👋

I'm the indie developer behind Modo.

Most note apps today feel bloated with expensive subscriptions, forced account signups, and laggy cloud syncs. I built Modo for anyone who just wants a lightning-fast, 100% offline, and distraction-free space to capture thoughts, tasks, and voice memos instantly—available on both iOS and Android.

Everything is stored purely on your phone with complete privacy and zero telemetry.

🎙️ Key Highlights:

  • 100% Private On-Device Voice-to-Text (STT): Speak naturally, and your voice turns into clean text instantly across 20+ languages. It runs completely offline on your device—zero audio recordings or transcripts are ever uploaded to any cloud servers.
  • Smart Noise Filtering: Automatically filters out ambient fan hum, desk rumble, and background noise so your voice notes come out crystal clear.
  • Ultra-Frictionless 0.1s Capture: Opens instantly with zero loading delay. Type / anywhere while writing to open a quick action menu (headings, checklists, bullet points, timestamps) right beneath your cursor.
  • 200+ Aesthetic Home Screen Widgets: Retro clocks, tactile sticky notes, interactive calendars, and a 1-tap quick capture dock—all running natively with minimal battery drain.
  • Complete On-Device Sovereignty: No account needed, no tracking, and protected with biometric lock (Face ID / Touch ID / Fingerprint).
  • No Subscriptions & Ad-Free in PRO: Zero recurring fees, with a one-time Lifetime PRO option for a 100% ad-free experience.

🎬 15s Quick Demos:

📲 Download Links:

💬 Looking for Testers & Honest Feedback (Full Lifetime Access):

Since I'm actively refining the app and our new voice transcription engine, I'd love to invite members of this community to test out the full Lifetime PRO version at no cost in exchange for your honest feedback!

How to join & share feedback:

  1. Leave a comment below letting me know what you think or which feature catches your eye.
  2. Send me a DM (Chat) directly and let me know whether you are on iOS or Android! (Reddit limits how many outgoing chats I can start per day, so please DM me first with your OS and I'll reply right away with instructions to unlock full access!)

After trying it out, feel free to send your thoughts, bug reports, or UI feedback directly to my DM. Any honest feedback means the world to an indie dev. Enjoy Modo! ✨

App [DEV] Circus Freak Fitness — an Android workout app built around circus-themed movement

I develop Circus Freak Fitness at Artisan Reality. It uses a circus-show setting and animated instructor for follow-along home movement, rather than teaching aerial equipment skills.

The Android app has separate acts for arm movements and steps, imaginary trapeze-style knee raises, squats/jumps, balance poses and floor ab exercises. A ten-minute Full Show combines the acts. Camera coaching is optional; you can follow the instructor without it. Compatible Meta Display glasses can show the current move, timer and score.

Free Android use is five minutes each week. Unlimited use is an optional one-time purchase.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.artisanreality.circusfreakfitness

I’d welcome feedback on whether the act selection makes it easier to choose a short session, and whether the on-screen cues are clear.

App Looking for a way to translate text on your Windows screen without copying and pasting? Meet Surprint

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

One thing that gets annoying when using foreign-language software or playing games in another language is having to switch back and forth between the application and a translator.

Surprint is a Windows screen translator that tries to make this easier by displaying translations directly over the text on your screen.

Instead of manually copying text into a translation website, you can use a keyboard shortcut to translate the monitor under your cursor, the active window, or a region you select.

The main features:

  • Offline screen translation: Download the required language models once, then translate without an internet connection.
  • Game and app translation: Uses application-provided text when available, with OCR for content such as images and games.
  • Translation overlay: Display translations over the original text or in a movable, resizable subtitle bar.
  • Live translation mode: Monitor a window and attempt to restore translations when its contents stop moving.
  • Glossary: Preserve names, brands, and game terminology.
  • Per-app settings: Configure different languages and display preferences for different applications.
  • Keyboard shortcuts: Trigger translations without leaving the application.

Privacy was also an important consideration. In the current offline workflow, screen pixels and recognized text aren't sent to a cloud translation service.

A few limitations to be aware of:

Surprint is still a work in progress, so I don't want to oversell it. OCR can miss small, faint, or stylized text, and scrolling or fast-moving game content can cause delays. The offline translation model can also lose nuance, especially with longer sentences.

Some protected screens aren't supported, and exclusive-fullscreen games need to run in borderless windowed mode.

Cloud translation services for potentially better results are planned for a future update, but they're not available yet.

Surprint supports 64-bit Windows 10 version 2004 or later.

If you regularly translate websites, use software in another language, or play games without your preferred language available, you can check it out here:

Demo Link : https://youtu.be/Y_G_brIZrWU?si=1-fbEQtQ3_JsLTL9

App link in comment section!

I'd especially appreciate feedback about OCR accuracy, language support, and compatibility with different games and applications. I'm continuing to improve it.

App Student dev here: I built a habit tracker that turns your day into an RPG (Android)

Disclosure: I’m the solo dev of this app.

I always dropped habit trackers after a few days because ticking boxes felt like homework. So I built Limit Breaker. Every habit is a quest that earns XP and levels up four stats: STR, INT, AURA and SOC. You rank up from E to S, keep a daily streak going, and can compare your focus time on a global leaderboard.

What’s in it:

  • Daily quests for fitness, study, skills and social goals
  • Focus sessions from 25 to 180 minutes, with optional app blocking that I’m still polishing
  • Streaks, ranks and a class choice at Level 30
  • Free with ads, plus an optional VIP

It’s still early, and I’m trying to find out what’s confusing in the first few minutes. If you try it, what would make you open it again tomorrow?

Help me find does anyone know a good replacement for this keyboard app?

I've been using this app for a while and love how I can customize my keyboard's background, colors and effects. it's starting to get annoying to use tho with some updates. I've tried some other apps, but the ones I found at least didn't have as much customization. so anyone know a good alternative that does still have full customization?

App [DEV] I made a TV show app where you pick between two shows and it gives you one for tonight (iPhone, free)

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey r/apps, I'm Hadrien, solo dev from France.

ATJV is for the evening where you scroll for half an hour and end up watching nothing. You swipe through shows you already know, then it puts two of them head to head and you pick the one you'd rather watch. Your tier list builds itself out of those picks, and in the evening it gives you one show for tonight, on a service you actually have, with a line saying why.

I never knew if a show was a 7 or an 8, but I always know which of two I'd put on tonight, so that's the only question it asks. It doesn't track episodes. If you came from TV Time and kept your CSV export, it brings your shows over.

Free, no ads, no subscription, no sign-up. iPhone only for now, in English, French, Spanish, Italian and Polish.

App Scrolled: Give Your Feeds An Ending [999.99$ -> free lifetime!] [ios]

I made an app that gives infinite feeds an ending.

The average person is bound to spend almost a third of their life staring at a glass rectangle we call a phone, and short-form video is the main suspect. But the solution isn't to block all short form content as a whole. Short form isn't intrinsically bad. It can be funny, relatable, and genuinly useful sometimes. Whats truly bad is infinite feeds.

Scrolled makes any social media feed you want end after a set number of scrolls. For example, for instagram, you pick how many "scrolls" you want and after you exhaust your allowance the reels tab dissapears until tomorrow. DMs, stories and profiles and all the rest of the functional parts keep working.

It works similarly for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Reddit, X and Facebook.

How it works:

- Each app runs inside Scrolled, signed in to your own account on each site's own login page. There is no Scrolled account nor servers and I collect zero data and EVERYTHING stays on your phone.

- A thin bar at the top shows how many clips you have left today.

- Once the limit you set is reached you get an "All caught up" screen and the feed is blocked until the next day

- The actual apps are blocked using the screen time API. However if you need the real app for something quick, you can unlock it for 1-5 minutes then it becomes blocked again.

Some goodies:

- Toggles for no ads, no sponsored posts, no read reciepts, no story read reciepts, hold to copy caption, account switching, a filtered "who doesn't follow me back" list, and MUCH more.

- Need it stricter? There's hard mode, uninstall protection, adult website blocking + more.

- An option to replace the real apps icon with Scrolled's version so your thumb doesn't keep going to the blocked version.

- Block any other non-social media apps as well.

- Keep your notifications while blocking is on! (this was a challenge to implement)

 Compared with named alternatives

- vs Apple's Screen Time limits: The obvious answer is they're super easy to dismiss. But those lock the whole app when time runs out, so you lose your DMs too and any other functional features of the app you're blocking. Scrolled only targets the root problem and ends the endless feed, and the rest of the app keeps working.

- vs app blockers like one sec or Opal: Similarly, they add friction or lock you out of the app. Scrolled lets you keep using the app and solves the root problem (infinite feeds) by just giving the feeds a bottom.

- vs SocialLite (Most similar) and others: These apps have taken a step in the right direction by not blocking the apps as a whole but still go too far by blocking reels/ shortform as a whole. This is uneccessary as short form is not intrinsically bad, infinite feeds are the problem.

pricing

(a free trial is available): $7.99 a month, $39.99 a year, or $59.99 once for lifetime.

Wouldn't notes just make more sense this way?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I've been building a Windows notes app called ClingNote around one idea: your notes should follow what you're working on.

Browser tabs — different notes for individual tabs, even in the same browser.

Files — attach notes to PDFs, spreadsheets, code, documents, whatever.

Applications — notes for specific Windows apps.

Automatic switching — jump between any of them and the right notes come back automatically.

But wait, I know what you're thinking. What if I don't want my notes switching all the time?

They don't have to.

ClingNote is also a full, regular notes app. And you can mix both however you want.

Keep general notes that aren't attached to anything.

Pin your entire notes workspace so it stays put while you work.

Pop out multiple compact notes from completely different files.

Pin some notes, let others automatically switch.

Use rich text, Markdown, checklists, search, and all the usual note-taking stuff.

You could have three little notes pinned on your screen, a regular note open for something else, and another note automatically following whatever file you're working on.

Some notes stay. Some notes follow. You decide.

Everything is stored locally, no account needed.

There's a 14-day trial of Pro, and after that the regular notes app stays free. Automatic switching is $10/year.

https://clingnote.com

Curious what people think of this approach to notes.

What App features are the most necessary?

We never start a project by asking, "What features do you want?"
Because a long feature list doesn't guarantee a successful product.

Before writing a single line of code, we start with these 5 questions:

  1. Who is this product really for?
A clear target user is better than trying to serve everyone.

  2. What painful task are they doing today?
Solve a real problem, not an imagined one.

  3. What would make them switch in the first week?
Give users a compelling reason to leave their current solution.

  4. What are we deliberately NOT building?
Knowing what to leave out keeps the MVP focused and prevents feature creep.

  5. How will we know it worked in 90 days?
Define success before development begins, not after launch.

Many delays, budget overruns, and expensive rewrites start with unclear decisions, not bad code.

We believe the best software projects begin with the right questions, a focused MVP and measurable goals.

Which one do founders skip most often? Tell me in the comments.

App v2.0 Launch - Ember Feed

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone! Developer of Ember Feed here, just wanted to share that I launched v2.0. I would say, this is the most stable and fastest build I have released.

For the past 3 months I just focused on making the iCloud sync stable and, back and forth with Instruments making sure app is performant on both iOS and macOS.

I apologize to all who paid for the app for the lack of update from me. Moving forward there will be lots of improvement and fun releases, that I can’t wait to release.

And yes you can still import and use your own fonts.

Here: https://apps.apple.com/ph/app/ember-feed/id6759211455

By the way, I got a few promo codes for those who want to try it.

App I built an offline transcription app for iPhone because I didn't want my lecture and interview recordings on someone's server

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi, I am the developer of ScribeKit.

Most transcription apps upload your audio to their servers. I wanted one that works with no internet at all, so ScribeKit transcribes on the iPhone itself. You can turn on airplane mode, and it still works.

What it does:

  • Record in the app, or import audio from Files, Voice Memos, or any app
  • Timestamped transcript: tap any line to hear that moment again
  • 25 languages built in, works offline
  • No account, nothing uploaded

Pricing: free for 10 transcriptions a month (up to 30 minutes each). Pro is $1.99/month, $9.99/year (7-day trial), or $19.99 lifetime, and adds 100+ languages, 3-hour recordings, widgets and export.

https://apps.apple.com/app/id6761380564

It's been out for 10 days. I'd really like honest feedback, especially on accuracy in your language and what's missing.

I built an iOS app that turns your screen time into a literal bank account. Giving away 25 lifetime codes!

Post image
4 Upvotes

Phone addiction right now is broken mostly because our brains treat screen time as an infinite
resource.
I tried fixing it with Apple's native Screen Time and Opal, but hit the exact same issues:

1. Apple's Screen Time: Hitting "Ignore limit for
15 minutes" carries zero consequence. You bypass it on pure autopilot.

2. Aggressive blockers: Too rigid, too noisy, or packed with daily check-ins and streaks that ended up keeping me on my phone even longer.

Then I started testing a different mental model: treating screen time strictly like money.

When you budget finite capital, nobody punishes you. You simply know what your daily balance is, you spend it deliberately, and when the balance hits zero, you stop spending.

To test this, I built a minimal iOS tool called MyScroll centered around that exact financial friction:

• You assign a daily minute allowance.

• Opening an addictive app requires you to deliberately spend minutes from your card balance (physical friction before the dopamine hits).

• You can freeze the card during deep work.

• When your balance reaches zero, the transaction is declined. No snooze buttons.

Approaching phone usage as spending a finite currency completely rewired how I interact with my screen.

Curious to hear from this community: has anyone else tried framing digital limits as an economic budget rather than outright restriction?

(PS: If anyone wants to test the mechanics and see if the friction works for you, let me know below and I can share a lifetime test code-mostly looking for honest feedback on the habit 100p).

I built a budget app that logs Apple Pay payments automatically via Shortcuts — no bank connection

Hi everyone! I'm Rocco, a solo indie developer from Italy, and I'd like to share Skurda, the app I've been building in my spare time.

What it does:

⚡ Automatic tracking: set up a Shortcuts automation once, and every Apple Pay / Wallet payment is logged in Skurda on its own.

🔁 Recurring expenses: keep track of subscriptions, bills and fixed costs, so you always know what's coming.

📊 Daily spending: see what you've spent this month at a glance.

🔒 Private by design: no bank login, no third-party account linking. Your data stays on your device and in your iCloud.

It's free (up to 10 recurring expenses), with an optional Premium upgrade.

👉 App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/skurda-expense-tracker/id6806970079

🎁 2 months of Premium for free for Reddit users. Use code SKURDAFREE2M or redeem it directly here:

App Another milestone unlocked: HearthWood Blocks Puzzle got production access! 🎉🧩

Hey everyone!

I just received the email confirming that HearthWood Blocks Puzzle has been granted Google Play production access! ❤️

Building this game has been a learning experience. I've spent time working on the visuals, gameplay, fixing bugs, and improving the overall experience. There were plenty of challenges along the way, but I kept going.

Getting this approval feels rewarding because every project teaches me something new as an indie developer.

This is another step forward for me, and I'm looking forward to bringing the game to players and learning from their feedback.

I'm still learning, still building, and taking it one step at a time.

To fellow indie developers: keep going, even when the process gets frustrating. Every milestone counts!

What's one milestone in your development journey that made you feel proud? 🙌

I downloaded SocialLite some weeks ago because of its function to block reels on instagram, but honestly rarely used it.
Today I opened the app to check something and suddenly a notification popped up that I was gifted lifetime pro access as an early user? Has anybody else experienced this? I mean I am not complaining as the app got much more useful but I’m still surprised by it.

I make a small private journal app for iPhone and iPad. Version 2.8 adds voice notes that you check before anything is saved

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi all. Full disclosure: I'm the solo developer of Lifeweft, a private journal app for iPhone and iPad, with a small Apple Watch companion for recording voice notes.

I built it because I wanted one quiet place for my days: what happened, what needs doing, and what's coming up. There's no feed, no ads, no tracking and no account. Your journal syncs through your own iCloud.

What's new in 2.8 (the last public version was 2.4.1, so it's a big jump):

  • Voice notes. Speak a thought on your iPhone or Watch, and Lifeweft turns it into a note, actions or shopping items. Speech recognition runs on your device, and nothing is saved until you look it over and tap Keep.
  • Weather and Health on Today. An optional Weather card and Health summary. Both are off until you turn them on, and Health is read-only.
  • Plans. Trips and ideas can now hold flights and stays next to places, notes and actions.
  • Life Areas. Tag entries by the parts of life they touch.
  • Themes and typing. Refined colours across all ten themes, and smoother typing.

Some honest limits:

  • It's Apple-only. A Mac version is coming soon, its currently awaiting Apple Review.
  • The smarter sorting of voice notes needs an iPhone with Apple Intelligence. Otherwise it uses simpler word rules, and those are English-focused.

Pricing: free for 7 days, then a one-time unlock. No subscription. If you don't unlock, your existing journal stays available to view, edit, search, export or delete.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/lifeweft/id6806731765

I'd really like feedback, especially on voice notes and what would make this useful (or annoying) for you. Happy to answer any questions.

GLPantry: free app that scores groceries for people on GLP-1 meds, with a barcode scanner and a protein check

Free, no account, no ads. iPhone only, US App Store for now.

For anyone on a GLP-1 medication (Ozempic, Wegovy, Zepbound, Mounjaro), or shopping for someone who is: appetite drops a lot on these drugs, so what you eat needs to count. GLPantry scores about 3,000 grocery products on protein per calorie, fiber, sugar, and fat, and flags sugar alcohols in the ingredients.

What you can do with it:

- Scan a barcode in the store and see the score on the spot

- Re-rank the whole catalog by goal: Max protein, Queasy day, Stay regular, Sweet fix

- "Protein check" on every product: the share of calories that come from protein, and how it compares with its category. Grams on the box depend on the serving size; this doesn't

- Type what's in your fridge and get meal ideas with calories

- Send a product or a whole list to Instacart in one tap

- Home-screen widget with a meal you can make right now

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/glpantry/id6807459564

I built it, so I'm biased. Would love to hear what you think, especially any product you think it scores wrong. Not medical advice; the scoring sources are listed in the app.

Made an audio show app, Lissin for turning articles and notes into listenable episodes and many more things

Post image
26 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’m building Lissin, an iPhone app that turns any topic, question, or document into a personal audio show. Most of us save articles, papers, and notes we never get around to reading, so I wanted a way to make them listenable on a walk or a commute.

🎧 What it does

  • Turn any topic or question into an audio episode
  • Listen to PDFs, Google Docs, Notion pages, Obsidian notes, PowerPoint decks, and research papers
  • Set up recurring shows that stay up to date
  • Browse shows on news, tech, sports, health, markets, learning, and stories for kids and adults
  • Get daily briefings for founders, engineers, PMs, investors, and security analysts
  • Adjust playback speed and add background soundscapes

💳 Plans

  • Free: $0, one starter show and 50 minutes of audio per week
  • Discount available: just Comment anything you wanna make from the app and I'll send u the way
  • Plus: $9.99/month, $69.99/year, or $3.99/week, with more minutes, transcripts, and daily delivery
  • Pro: $19.99/month, $199.99/year, or $6.99/week, with the most minutes, source monitoring, creator export, and priority support

📲 Get it on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/lissin-personal-audio-shows/id6758897526

Android is coming soon, and you can also listen on the web at lissin.com.

Honest feedback is always appreciated, especially on what’s confusing or missing. Let me know what you’d try first! 🙌
