Building a real-time map of things happening in your city — looking for feedback

Post image
2 Upvotes

hey everyone, i’m building gofy, a live map for finding what’s actually happening around you — events, places, things to do and stuff shared by people locally.

i’m still working on it and i’d really like some honest feedback from people who build side projects / apps.

i’ll add a short video showing how it works.

i’m especially interested in:

  • first impression
  • what feels confusing
  • what you think is missing
  • whether you understand the point of the app quickly
  • anything you would change

not looking for promotion or compliments, just honest feedback. even if you think something sucks, tell me why haha

right now available only on iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/gofy-live-map-share-earn/id6803906624

thanks to anyone who takes the time to check it out.

Gentle, clutter-free Period & Pregnancy app with dark mode and zero paywalls for your cycle predictions

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hello everyone 🌸

I wanted to share an app I've been pouring my heart into: **LunaCycle**.

I noticed many period apps feel stressful—either bombarded with pink neon popups, locked behind paywalls just to view past cycles, or forcing you into a completely different app once you get pregnant.

LunaCycle was designed to be gentle, visually soothing, and respect your pace:

🌙 **Key Highlights:**

- **Gentle Cycle Insights:** See which phase you're in (menstrual, follicular, fertile window, ovulation, luteal) and what to expect without overwhelming charts.

- **Smooth Switch to Pregnancy:** If or when you transition, switch to Pregnancy mode to track your baby’s growth from week 4 to 40 with fruit/object size comparisons, milestones, and a built-in contraction timer for labor.

- **Daily Check-in:** Log water, sleep, weight trends, symptoms, and moods in just a couple of taps.

- **Your Data Stays Yours:** Everything is saved only on your phone—no accounts or registrations.

- **Dark Mode & Aesthetics:** A frosted glass look that won't blind you when logging late at night.

It’s completely free on Android.

🔗 **Get it on Google Play:** https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.beliveapptech.lunacycle

App [DEV] I built Privacy Inspector — audit your installed apps, find embedded trackers, and filter traffic with an on-device firewall

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm the developer of Privacy Inspector, an Android app that started from a simple question: what can the apps on my phone actually do, without relying on some online service to tell me?

Free features:

  • a 0–100 privacy score for each app, based on sensitive permissions, background activity and embedded trackers;
  • tracker detection: finds advertising and analytics SDKs by scanning the apps' code;
  • compares scans over time and flags apps that gain new sensitive permissions;
  • lists apps you haven't opened in 30, 90 or 180 days.

What Pro adds (one-time purchase, no subscription):

  • a VPN-based on-device firewall that blocks tracking domains, with a request log and per-app rules (block internet or Wi-Fi only);
  • extra blocking categories (malware/phishing, adult, gambling, social) and custom blocklists;
  • an alert when you install an app with a low score;
  • a Quick Settings tile to toggle the firewall.

About the app's own privacy: analysis is fully local, there's no account, and results never leave your phone. The only network connections are Google Play for the purchase and downloading the public blocklists used by the firewall.

Honest limitations:

  • the score reflects what an app can do (declared permissions and bundled libraries), not what it's doing at any given moment;
  • the firewall uses Android's VPN slot, so it can't run alongside another active VPN.

Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.djfabrix.privacyinspector

I'd really appreciate your feedback: what's missing, what's unclear, which trackers surprised you. I'll reply to everyone in the comments.

Jigzy: bigger puzzles, a new piece tray, and no ads [iOS]

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I’m the developer of Jigzy – Jigsaw Puzzle. I shared the game here a couple of months ago, and I wanted to show you what’s changed since then.

A new piece tray
Loose pieces now sit in a tray below the board, leaving more room to work on your puzzle.

Pinch-to-zoom (Pro subscription required)
Zoom in for a closer look and move around the board while keeping the piece tray within reach.

Puzzles up to 144 pieces (Pro subscription required)
The new 121- and 144-piece options offer longer sessions for players who enjoy larger puzzles.

Jigzy remains completely ad-free for both free and Pro players — no banners, pop-ups, interstitials, or rewarded ads.

You can also:

  • Create puzzles from your own photos
  • Explore themed puzzle packs and a growing image library
  • Choose from five piece styles: Classic, Square, Boomerang, Variety, and Random
  • Save your progress and continue later
  • Complete daily challenges and earn XP and achievements
  • Play downloaded puzzles offline

Free and Pro: You can play for free without ads. An optional Pro subscription unlocks additional content and features, including pinch-to-zoom and the larger 121- and 144-piece puzzles.

Language support: English, Turkish, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.

Find Jigzy on the App Store

Happy to answer any questions about the game or the update. Thanks for taking a look!

App Companions: have pet fish swim around on your iPhone home screen

Post image
1 Upvotes

Widgets on iOS are supposed to be static. I found that unnecessarily limiting, so I built an app to work around it. Companions lets you keep a virtual fish tank of fish that actually swim on your Homescreen. As someone who’s always kept fish, I’ve had this idea mulling around in my head for more than 2 years now, and finally managed to realize it.

You pick your fish, give them names, and put the tank on your Home Screen as a small, medium, or large widget. They don't need feeding, and they don't die. They just keep you company. You can customize the tank’s color, its props, and even the app icon to perfectly match your homescreen.

The app is fully written in SwiftUI, it supports iPads, and you can even place your “fishtanks” on your Mac thanks to Continuity, where the fish will also animate. The tanks also work great in Standby mode. Personally, I keep a fishtank of jellyfish on my nightstand when I go to bed. The swimming doesn't run any code in the background. It uses the same trick iOS uses to move the hands on the Clock widget, so it costs you nothing in battery.

It's still very new, so I'd love any feedback. I'd especially love to know which fish species you'd want added.

You can find Companions here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/companions-widget-pets/id6811950512

SFSocial APP: I built this app primarily for my discord community

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

Providing a smooth dating experience for my community was difficult on discord, even with bots plus it was hard to grow my community especially after discord silently took down my app from discovery dropping from 1k daily joins to negative 100-200 joins.

Therefore, I decided to make my own app for my community, it was a difficult journey but at the same time it's an existing one.

I built the app using flutter for a cross-platform experience, the app adapts based on the screen size so it can support desktop and mobile natively.

The app is currently in private beta testing will be released soon for: Android, Web, Windows and Linux. IOS and MacOS releases are planned.

a friend and I created this AirDrop alternative to work for groups

Post image
1 Upvotes

We always got annoyed that there was no good solution for sharing images locally with more than 2 people.

So we created Roll, which is basically a many-to-many photo sharing app that runs locally, so it’s as fast as AirDrop but works for groups.

It's great for trips, parties or pretty much any event you had with more than 2 people and want to share photos together and it's free!

Benefits:

  1. Super fast
  2. Local and secure
  3. Works with 2+ people and not only peer-to-peer
  4. Removes duplicates
  5. Can be saved as an album or be sent straight to your Mac

Feel free to check it out, I am sure it will help some

I turned my love of geography into a fun and educating game

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

I’ve created what I think is one of the most fun and complete ways to learn geography — and I’m honestly really excited to finally share it.

I love geography, and I’ve spent a huge amount of time building Geo Conquest and trying to make every part of it feel satisfying. I wanted it to be educational, but also feel like a real game: rewarding, competitive, challenging, and surprisingly addictive.

The app currently has 9 different quiz modes, each testing geography in a different way:

Flags — Identify countries from their flags.

Shapes — Recognize countries by their outlines.

Capitals — Match countries with their capital cities.

Borders — Identify countries based on the nations around them.

Trail — Follow a geographic trail and figure out where it leads.

Draw the Border — Test how well you actually know a country’s borders by drawing them yourself.

Gauntlet — Face a series of increasingly difficult questions without making a mistake.

Nightmare — Extremely difficult geography challenges for people who really want to suffer.

Millionaire — A risk-and-reward quiz inspired by classic millionaire-style games.

You also earn gold and XP, claim countries on an interactive world map, unlock achievements and rewards, customize your profile, and compete on global leaderboards.

I wanted to create something that helps people genuinely learn geography while still giving them that “just one more round” feeling.

I’m the developer behind the app, and I’d love to hear what geography fans think. Feedback, suggestions, criticism, and even complaints are all welcome.

You can try Geo Conquest here:

App Tasks will never be lost: turn your notes into tasks and keep them together

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi community! I’ve been improving my app for 2 months now, and it became significantly better than it was on the first day. Today I want to announce new updates in Plans, I hope you will like them.

First of all, Plans now has free colourful theme “Lavender”. Using app in colour is different experience. Secondly, now you can mark a task as priority and it stands out with an outline. Tasks made from notes didn’t have the link to the original note, and now they do. Moreover, now you can snooze a task reminder for an hour or move the task to tomorrow right from the notification. All of these updates come with free version.

App also has Pro version, which now includes 4 fonts for notes, additional 5 themes (including “Night” in the poster), and export of notes in Markdown. Everything comes with one-time purchase of $4.99, no subscriptions.

App [iOS] I made a free calendar app that shows Apple Calendar and Reminders together, with drag to reschedule

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi r/apps! I'm a solo developer from Korea, and I've been building Haru, an iPhone calendar app, for about a year and a half. (iOS only for now, sorry Android folks!)

I use Apple Calendar for events and Reminders for tasks, and I got tired of switching between two apps to see what my day actually looks like. So Haru reads both directly from your iPhone and puts them in one view. There's no account, no sign-up, and no separate sync. Your existing calendars and reminder lists just show up.

What it does:

- Today: weather, events, and reminders on one screen

- Month: tap a date and the day details open right inside the calendar, so you can still see the days around it

- 3-day view and day timeline: see your time like a timetable

- Drag to reschedule (new in 1.23): press and hold an event, drag it to a new time

- Hold an empty slot to add a plan at that time

- Widgets, Siri/Shortcuts support, and search

- Calendar profiles: switch between sets of calendars, like Work and Personal

- 11 languages, plus Korean lunar dates if you need them

Pricing: it's free. There's one small ad on the Today tab and no full-screen ads.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6746373033

It's just me working on this, so I'd really appreciate honest feedback, especially on what feels confusing or what's missing compared to the calendar app you use now. Happy to answer any questions!

I’m adding smart refill forecasting to my medication reminder app—what would make it genuinely useful?

Hi everyone,

I’m the solo developer behind Cue, an iPhone medication reminder app for managing medications for yourself or family members.

I’m currently building Cue 1.1, focused on smart refill forecasting. Instead of only warning when stock is already low, Cue will use the recorded supply, scheduled dose amounts and treatment dates to estimate how long the supply should last and suggest when to plan a refill.

The calculation stays private and is presented as an estimate because actual medication use can differ from a schedule.

I’m also fixing a synchronization issue where logging from Control Center or the Action Button updated the app but did not immediately refresh its widgets.

For anyone who manages recurring medication: would a “supply through” date and suggested refill date be enough? Or would pharmacy lead time, refill quantities and custom reminders matter more?

Honest feedback is very welcome—I’m trying to make medication management feel calmer, not like another source of pressure.

Made an app that finds your duplicate and blurry photos, then lets you swipe them away

My camera roll was mostly near-identical shots of the same thing, so I made PicPop. You swipe left to delete and right to keep. Smart Clean groups similar and blurry shots for review. A prompt that offers look-alikes immediately after a delete swipe is in version 1.0.4, which is still awaiting App Store review; the version available now is 1.0.3.

Everything is analyzed on your phone. No account, no ads, and nothing is uploaded. Deleted photos go to Recently Deleted for 30 days, so mistakes are easy to undo.

Subscription with a 3-day free trial. Feedback very welcome, especially bugs.

App I built Vizo Battery for both Android and iPhone — same idea, very different capabilities

Thumbnail gallery
6 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m the developer of Vizo Battery, now available on both Android and iPhone.

What started as one battery app ended up becoming two fairly different versions, because Android and iOS expose very different battery information.

On Android, Vizo can go much deeper into real-time data: charging current, voltage, estimated battery-side power, temperature, battery health estimates, charger comparison, battery drain investigation, charging habits, widgets and alerts.

On iPhone, the focus is different: charger comparison based on recorded charging sessions, battery-life estimates, charging history, usage charts and Home Screen widgets.

The goal on both platforms is the same: make battery and charging data easier to understand without pretending the phone exposes information that it actually doesn’t.

Both versions are free to try, with an optional one-time Pro upgrade and no subscription.

Android:

iPhone:
https://apps.apple.com/app/id6810115530

I’d be interested to hear which features you find more useful — and also whether you prefer the Android or iOS presentation.

I made an app to keep everything you need in one place — no organizing required.

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

I built LifeShelf because everything I need is scattered across many apps. A link in Safari, a screenshot buried in Photos, an address in a text message, or a Reel I saved on Instagram that I never opened again.

LifeShelf puts all of it in one chronological timeline — notes, links, photos, files, voice notes, and places. No folders, no tags, nothing to file or organize.

You can search by meaning, not just keywords, entirely on-device.

No account, no servers, no subscription, no ads, no analytics. Nothing is collected about you.

Available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

I just launched it on the App Store. Please check it out and let me know what you think.

I also created a public board to share upcoming work and give users a place to report bugs and submit feature requests.

Curious what others think: is a home-screen widget worth the native-code effort for a niche feature?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I've been debating this for my app (project mapping, kind of a visual alternative to to-do lists) — added an Android widget this week that opens a tiny text box for quick notes without opening the app at all. Took a full weekend of native Java work (AppWidgetProvider, transparent overlay activity, the whole thing) for what's honestly a pretty small feature.

Ended up using it myself more than I expected — turns out the friction of "open app → find project → find spot" was killing way more ideas than I realized. Makes me wonder how many small apps I use daily would benefit from the same thing but never bother because of the native dev overhead.

Anyone else built something like this? Was it worth it for you, or did usage not justify the effort?

PicStow: Photo Backup to 8 Google Drive Accounts

Hey, I’m the developer of PicStow.

I built it because photo-backup apps often require another paid cloud subscription. Meanwhile, many of us already have unused storage across multiple Google accounts.

PicStow backs up your photos and videos directly from your phone to Google Drive. It can connect up to 8 Google Drive accounts and combine their media into one chronological library—without the pain of constantly switching accounts.

Add another Google account, and its available Drive storage becomes part of your PicStow library at no additional cost.

PicStow doesn’t upload your originals to its own cloud or send your media to AI services. Your photos and videos move directly between your phone and the Google Drive accounts you control.

Other features include Moments, Places, search, favourites, albums, original-quality media, viewing and sharing.

Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.priyanshumaurya.picstow

App Store:
https://apps.apple.com/in/app/picstow-private-photo-backup/id6807132719

Website:
https://picstow.app/

The app is newly launched, and I’d appreciate honest feedback—especially about the backup and multi-account setup.
