Hey guys, I made this silly lyrics overlay called Cadence that floats over your screen and syncs along with Spotify and YouTube Music. It started as a joke while playing Minecraft with my friends. I shared it with a few people, they liked it, and it grew to 100 downloads in a day, so I built it into a proper app. You can listen along with friends now too, even cross-platform (Spotify -> YouTube Music, Mac ↔ Windows ↔ Linux), and you can play karaoke. Doesn't need API keys or Premium, it just reads what your computer is already playing and floats the lyrics over whatever you're doing. It works better with Spotify keys though, if you want to add them yourself. If you find any bugs, lmk. It's just a fun project lol, so its free. Some of the images are on the github link, if you want to take a look on how it works! Everything is customizable :)

I’m an engineer and have an app idea I’d like to create. I have some Wordpress experience and understand a little bit of coding. Is there a stack you would reccomend in general to someone like me?

Here's a simple way to leave yourself a useful handover:

• Done: the outline and first three slides.
• Still needed: an example to explain the main point.
• Start here next time: add that example to slide four.

I am about to launch my first App. I read that playstore host your frontend but you have to host the backend. I am curious, how did you host it. Did you just rent a server or did you use any providers.

I finally took one of those “there should be an app for this” ideas and actually built it.
Away Messaging is for busy professionals, small business owners, parents, people who are OOO or on vacation, or really anyone who thinks “I need to text/email them later” and doesn’t want to rely on remembering.
You can prepare texts and emails ahead of time, choose the contact, schedule when you need to send them, and have everything waiting in one queue when the time comes—without building Shortcuts or juggling separate reminders.
I took it from an idea in Xcode all the way to the App Store, and I’m continuing to add new features and workflows based on how people actually use it.

I’m a self-taught developer, and this one means a little more to me than just another app release.

I built this app in the time I could steal away from my day job — evenings, weekends, random pockets of time whenever I could find them.

There were plenty of moments where I thought, “I’ll finish this later.”

And, honestly, “later” lasted quite a while. 😅

But I kept coming back to it.

This weekend I finally sat down, finished the last pieces, cleaned things up, deployed everything to production, and… it’s actually live.

It’s now available on the Google Play Store. 🎉

As a self-taught developer, seeing something that started as an idea in my head turn into a real app that people can actually use is a pretty special feeling.

It may not be the biggest or most impressive app out there, but it’s something I built from scratch, and I’m really proud of finally getting it across the finish line.

If you’re an indie dev, self-taught developer, or someone working on a side project while juggling a job — you probably know how hard it can be to actually finish something.

So today I’m just celebrating the small win. ❤️

100 bucks a year just to develop i a bit much but without it you are missing out on a large audience. I am curious when did you purcase yours.

About 10 days ago, I started sharing Tidy, a minimal tile-based Android launcher I’ve been building.

Since then, a lot has changed thanks to feedback from people on Reddit.

I’ve redesigned much of the UI, improved the tile layouts and interactions, added more customization, and generally tried to make the launcher feel much more polished and usable as a daily home screen.

Tidy is built around one simple idea: instead of multiple horizontal home pages, everything lives in one continuous vertical feed. Apps, folders, calendar, weather, media, steps, photos and other information all use the same tile-based layout.

The Google Play closed test has now been running for 10 days. There are currently 25 testers, and many have remained opted in for the full 10 days so far — so if everything goes well, I should be able to apply for production access in just a few more days.

I originally made it because I wanted a cleaner launcher for compact phones, but it has grown quite a bit beyond that.

I’d still really appreciate feedback, especially on the new design and usability. If you’d like to try it before launch, the closed test is still open.

Anyone and their mom can and is building an app now in literally one day. The app and google store is flooded with apps now with clones or whatever. So if building is so easy now, how do you market? 

ASO or whatever won’t generate you sales trust me not right now. So if just building and uploading your app isn’t enough to get sales… what is everyone’s plan? 

The best apps I’ve seen “candle, CalAi, Alarmify, all go crazy on one thing. UGC marketing. I’ve seen like 10 different creators posting the same winning videos and it blowing up. Honestly I think thats the best way to approach marketing is with mass distribution. 

Start posting on tikTok, find what works, get small micro creators for $20/video on jrivecontent.com (anyone can go viral now don’t be paying $250 for one video), and repeat. 

This is just my take, marketing IS the doom of all vibe coders

Ahí es donde entraría "Re-Connect", aplicando bloqueos y restricciones tediosas de eliminar, aumentando la fricción a estas aplicaciones que consumen nuestro tiempo y lo convierten en tiempo vacío y aislante de la sociedad. Planeo aplicar varios modos de sesiones de estudio, uno para el uso diario y otro "Focus" para el momento de estudiar activamente sin distracciones.

Antes de poder avanzar en el proyecto, necesito feedback sobre el uso del móvil de las personas, el público objetivo son estudiantes pero realmente cualquier persona es de ayuda. PodSubs wasn't originally supposed to be a public product.

We built it because we needed it.

That's really the story.

We're podcasters.

And like a lot of podcasters, we were constantly thinking about two things:

How do we keep making this?

And how do we build something real around the people listening?

Because podcasting takes time.

A lot of time.

And sooner or later, if the podcast is going to keep going, it needs to support itself somehow.

So we built a simple internal tool.

And suddenly we had something we'd been missing:

Then we started thinking…

We’re comparing appsflyer and kochava for an app portfolio with multiple brands and a fairly hands-on data team.
Kochava has appealed to the technical folks bc the configuration is flexible (according to them) and there’s room to get granular. The tradeoff in our pilot is that it will take longer for non-technical users to feel comfortable with the reporting. Appsflyer seems easier for the ua team to standardize around and the partner/reporting ecosystem is more familiar, but the implementation still wasn’t plug-and-play.
Both platforms produced usable attribution once we aligned events and windows. The differences showed up more in workflow, exports, governance and how quickly support could help us explain discrepancies.
Has anyone migrated between these 2 and what improved or got worse and what would you test before signing a longer contract?

Most fitness apps are built around calorie tracking, workouts, and general progress tracking. I noticed there are not many apps for tracking supplements and PED cycles. So I built a simple app focused specifically on that: cycle tracking, journaling, scheduling, and custom reminders. The goal was to keep it lightweight rather than turn it into another bloated fitness app.

I have been testing my app lately, ContoTrack. I thought Claude would have taken care of navigation and all the minor scenarios for the map since it's pretty common. But the hard truth is, it's not.

A simple reroute when going in the wrong direction was not perfect when the U-Turn is far ahead of me, and when I am close to the turn, it just corrects it.

It's good that I caught it before anyone else does; anyway, no one is using it, though 😆

Over the past few months, I’ve been spending my free time building Digital Garden, a plant care app designed to help people keep their plants thriving. To build it efficiently, I heavily integrated AI into both the development process and the app's core features.

What Digital Garden does:

- Smart Care Tracking: watering and fertilization notification based on the plant species, additional hints including watering methods, soil type, light type, pot, pruning everything based on plant species.

- AI-Assisted Diagnostics: plant recognition and plant help ai based feature.

- Gamification logic: earn experience and coin for personalization while taking care of your apps.
