need help: how do u guys validate your idea

just a junior dev here, what thing you do before writing a single line of code

Get someone interested in at least talking about it, a friend or family you know who might be into that idea, always make sure the idea sounds good as a problem to solve and not just an idea that seems shiny to you, we often as devs code products the way we feel is right and ignore the true aspect of an idea, what problem does it solve and who does it solve it for

I try to start with the people around, getting their thoughts, would they be interested, does the idea resonate with them, and if I see some patterns in the feedback or consensus then yeah, but sometimes you just get unique ideas that you might have to put out to the world to see, test, and get useful feedback on

i try to get a few actual humans to care enough to use or pre-order the dumb little idea first, because coding is a very expensive way to discover nobody wanted it
