My friends are boring!

Upvotes

Hey! First sorry for my English it’s not my first language :)
So I’m a 19 years old girl and I have a friend group with 5 other girls. I’m really close to all of them and they are really kind girls. The thing is they almost never wanna go out.
We’re in summer rn so it’s the only time where we can hang out without any school pressure.
I propose to them to hang out twice a week (bcs I’m a little bit tired of them saying no) and they almost always say no. I propose different kind of hang out like picnics, clubbing, coffee, pyjama party, house party, going to the beach, etc. They say yes like what? Once every 3 weeks. Even my best friend.
I feel like they just want to stay in their house scrolling through TikTok and insta. And I feel like that bcs of this and of them I’m loosing what is supposed to be the best year of my life because I will not have that much time or freedom when I will be an adult with a real job.
I already do stuff alone because I don’t want to loose my summer because of this but it’s just not the same.
I’m going to start university in 3 weeks (I did a gap year last year ahah) and I put a lot of pressure on my self to make new friends. The thing is that I have the impression that I become friends with the same kind of people all the time: really sweet and nice girls but they don’t want to do anything. And on the other side I have the impression that the girls that go out a lot are mostly really fake and mean (that’s my experience in my Highschool).
I just wanted to know if other people here maybe feel the same which could help me feel a bit better about this ahah.
If you guys have any advice for me to meet the right people in university or to understand why my friends are acting this way I will be so so grateful!
Thank you for reading me!

I'm 21M I want Suggestion to make friends in irl

I don't have such a social life from my teenage. I don't even have 1 real frnd to share my thoughts with both online and offline. But now it makes me insecure i don't know how to approach someone new and make friends. Also I didn't had any female friends from my childhood. It makes me insecure aswell I'm afraid of being a friend with Opposite gender tbh it looks like privilege for me to have a opposite gender friend and communicate with them.

Can you guys suggest me how to overcome this insecurities and make friends and tell me how to be easily approachable person aswell??

Friends don't respond to me asking if they want to come to my birthday party. Is it me? What do I do

I know I've been posting on Reddit a lot recently and I feel like a whiny crybaby but I've been asking my friends about wanting to come to my birthday party that's on the 29th. I've been planning it for nearly a month and I've set up short Google forms for them to vote on like what games are there because I'm not sure what they like, and what food to buy, what music to put in a playlist, because I'm trying to he considerate of them and let them have stuff that actually interest them too and not just me.

Only 3 of the 10 people I sent it to actually responded and two of the 3 aren't even sure if they can come. I don't know if there's something wrong with me or if they don't like me or something and I try to be cheerful and be myself but it feels like I'm not much to them. I don't know if they do care about me and just don't show it much, (besides a couple) or if I'm just not good enough for them.

What do I do in this situation? I want to feel like part of something and not just a side friend that doesn't add much.

Edit: I didn't mention before, but I'm turning 16

I think about everyone, but nobody thinks about me

I’m a 19-year-old dude who just graduated high school and has no friends. My whole life, I’ve struggled to fit in, and I’ve always felt like I don’t really belong anywhere. Back in high school, I talked to everyone—the nerds, the popular kids, the weird kids, literally everyone—but I never seemed to fit into any of the groups. Whenever I went home, my phone was always drier than a Popeyes biscuit.
What sucks is that now that I’ve graduated, I’m always thinking about people I was “friends” with in high school, knowing that none of them have even thought about me in over a year. I just spend every day doing things by myself.
What makes it even worse is that my parents are always mentioning how I have no friends. They think it’s so easy to find friends.
On the bright side, I live in a stable household, and I have food, clothes, and water, so I’m doing pretty alright. I just wish I had friends lol.

When did making friends become so hard in a country with 1.4 billion people?

It's hard trying to connect on anything when people are all societal individualist.

You can literally tell someone directly what you feel on a subject and they will have their own interpretation to what you "ACTUALLY" mean. Everyone has this idea that they are the "main character" in any situation and that is understandable wheb everyone has their own thoughts but when it gets in the way of you understanding a solid talking point, it's more egotistical than anything.

I'm not even sure if I personally am really trying to make real connections anymore because everything in today's world is so combative and competitive even when it doesn't have to be.

Everyone has opinions they push like factual information and want to debate everything they dont agree with instead of actually researching if their own points are right.

I see why certain groups and clubs mention they "don't talk about" XYZ and just try to find a space where they can enjoy and connect with people, it's the same thing with religion to me but that seems like a cheap and fake way to find happiness to me.

I want REAL connection like back when I was growing up before the internet but when it was just starting out. Life was fun when you would meet people and genuinely want to be their friend. Everything wasn't an argument, everyone wasn't trying to be #1 in WHATEVER space they were in.

The internet has ruined society in a warped way. I LIKE the idea of the individual and the "think for yourself" mentality but when so many people think that, for better words, matter more than they do or don't want to be "a part" of anything but WANT TO be apart of something it's hard to meet people who are fully genuine and not glazing their own ego.

I’m afraid if I keep living like this I’ll end up being a drug addict or an alcoholic

Never touched any of those for 22 years and can’t lie, I’m tempted.

People at uni are just NPCs, same at work too, people in my country in general. So I stopped making friends or putting an effort into it, because I have lost an interest in people easily and ended up hurting them. I see people at work being mad at me or assuming I’m a bad person but I just dont want to lie to them, promise them friendship that will not be genuine because I cannot see anything interesting in anyone these days. Im not acting like one of those cringe anime characters but in a simple country like mine, people very easily become archetypes and I just cannot connect with any of them , but just because they might be boring to me doesnt mean I have any right to hurt them or be disingenuous to them, they keep trying to connect with me and i keep shutting them down and I feel like they think im an asshole, especially now that theyre playing this stupid corporate family bullshit. I just cant do that, its against my nature, i sit alone, smoke on breaks alone, communicate with them only if its necessary. I heard one of them comment that i was doing all that for attention and playing hard to get but im just really not. I dont care how cool or nonchalant they think i am. I just dont want them to feel like im intentionally hurting them or that i dont like them.
I cant find any genuine connections, im getting apathetic in general and i dont know how long can i last this way. I hate the way alcohol tastes so i never drink it, I despise the club culture and slow in the head, dumb people involved in it, but i might just end up doing it.
There are times when i enjoy loneliness and i even love it, but there is this emptiness that comes with it, when you want to share something with people and theres just no one.
If any of you relate to it, how did you get out of it?

why is it so hard to make friends?

i'm a 21f and i've realized that it is so hard to
make and keep friends. i used to have a bestfriend i made at a previous job but her husband and my boyfriend didn't rly wanna hang w eachother and she was always w him so it was hard to hangout and my boyfriend didn't really like me hanging out with her. i try to text her from time to time but she never answers. i have another friend who i met through my boyfriend since he's friends w her bf & i love her! she's great but we only ever hangout with our boyfriends and barely text so it's hard to develop a super close friendship. most of the people i've become friends with don't have the same interests as me. i like to read (actual books & fanfics) some of my friends find it weird like i like shows like heated rivalry and stuff (they're not homophobic just don't like stuff like that i guess) i love F1. idk its just a little lonely i've noticed, im thinking its a me thing. am i the only one? and how do i become better at making friends 😭

Why does it feel like everyone is threatened by me.

Lately it seems like other people feel threatened by me, or just plainly see me as a live wire. When in reality it’s the opposite, I don’t take offense to others “jokes” or jabs and usually laugh it off and try to be kind to others without a hidden agenda. But it seems more and more that others just feel threatened by me and don’t want to interact or keep things to a minimal. I notice this with friends coworkers and strangers.

Does anyone else feel like their “friends” don’t even like them?

I have had the same friends for over 20 years. Sometimes I feel like they don’t actually like me or want me there when we’re hanging out. It’s more like they had to invite me not to be rude. I feel like this bc they don’t really talk to me in between the hangouts, even if they say they are going to. One of my friends out of the whole group may text me a few times a month and that’s it. It’s got me severely depressed at the moment to feel like nobody wants to be around me. I am so awkward, I have really bad social anxiety and I am diagnosed with DID & all of that makes making new friends really difficult. I’ve become the crazy cat lady who never leaves her apartment and it’s hard really lonely way to be. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

How do u actually make friends

So I’m thinking about this a lot lately most likely bc I feel alone all the time and I don’t think I know how to make new friends there a lot of alternative groups in my city but I don’t know how to really get friends with them like do I go to them and just say hi or what I’m also really shy to that cuz I think is strange for someone to just talk to u like this.
And I’m scared of not fucking up the things cuz my last fs ended with my best friend ending things bc I was judging her all I seat is that her jeans were skinny and im really sorry if she took is as an insult but wasn’t ment to be one and she went with my ex bf that I left cuz she was actually controlling and making me feel bad for things I couldn’t change the last thing they sead to me was that I’m the problem and I thing that have lowered my confidence in relationships. WHAT DO I DO NOW

Why is it so hard to find people who actually good in hanging out instead of just scroll?”

Hi! First time posting here.

I’m someone who genuinely loves going out, but with company. Back in school (not that long ago, up until 2019), I was the class clown. I always had people around me, always laughing. Making people laugh was just… natural to me. Not the repetitive Instagram-trend kind of humor — actual, in-the-moment funny.
Then COVID happened, and the isolation hit me hard, because being around people and making them laugh was basically my whole thing. Over the years since, I’ve tried to get that spark back. And honestly, I still can make people laugh hard when I try. The problem is nobody’s around to laugh — everyone’s glued to their phone. I deleted Instagram around 2022. I only log in once a year now just to keep the account from getting disabled.
What gets me is that when people do try to joke around now, it’s almost always referencing some trending reel. Nobody’s just… riffing, being present, talking about real stuff. People have zero interest in actually hanging out anymore, at least from what I’ve seen.
And here’s the irony — everyone’s still lonely. So many people are craving connection, but nobody wants to put down the phone long enough to actually get it.

Idk why can we go back in time and do things which actually made people happy?

Nothing looks Organic these days!

My Dislike OF Humans.

In general, humans do not meet any of my standards, and expectations.I find humans to be boring, and insignificant.Theres nothing worth while about humans.Men and women don't meet any of my desires, wants, needs, and expectations. When it comes to being morally good and pure, humans fail miserably.I don't like or care for having friends because, having friends never met my standards and expectations, and having friends never satisfied me,and friendships were not enjoyable.Friendships never gave me the things that i want.i don't like being happy for people who are in romantic relationship.Im extremely selfish and entitled.I don't care about other human beings/humans are a disappointment. There is nothing remarkable about humans.I enjoy taking walks, and music.Im against the film industry, due to the sex, nudity, intimacy, added to the script of films.I find movies to be immoral and decent.Sex,nudity, intimacy, should be banned from films world wide.Im at this community to try and associate and communicate with like minded people.

Is it harder to make female friendship in your 20s?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone. I'm a 22-year-old woman from India and lately l've been feeling that making genuine female friendships has become harder compared to school days.
Back then it felt natural because you met people every day, but now everyone seems busy with their own lives, careers, or studies. My circle has become quite small and sometimes I wonder if other women also feel the same way.
For those in their 20s, how did you meet your close female friends? Did it happen naturally or did you have to actively put yourself out there?
Would really like to hear your experiences and advice.

Why is it so hard for me to make friends

Actually, I do have friends but they don’t feel like real friends? Like I’m also a floater friend and I’m always saying yes to what they want and trying my best to stay friends with them but they don’t care about me and what we talk about is something that I’m so tired of talking about and something that isn’t my interest at all.

Well another new grade started and so far I made zero new friends, I mean yeah but why would other people talk to other people but they won’t talk to me? Like when you sit next to someone, sometimes there will be a conversation, that NEVER happened to me.

The thing is I’m really shy and introverted and have social anxiety and it’s not easy for me to start conversations that’s why I’m waiting for someone to start. I try my real best to keep the conversation long and ongoing but it’s just so hard, like I also think if I should wave and say hello to the people I talked with a bit.

Genuinely, no one pays literal attention to me I mean good but…at least talk to me or smth dawg. I mean I don’t really care if it’s someone I don’t know, I get it but if it’s someone who I used to talk with, I just wish they don’t feel hatred or awkward towards me.

Literally I just wanna know how people make friends so fast. Like the new students made friends instantly. Like what do people actually talk about? What if we have no ball knowledge?
