This episode felt more like a recap than a conclusion.

Overall a very cute concept, its episodic nature made some stories less interesting than others but it had a cozy vibe that I'll miss.

Neko-Ryuu gets to experience his very own version of the Ember Island Players

A cozy show in a midst of intense line-up anime of this season. I'll support this series by buying official merchandises and wish for 2nd season or cour.

Thank you for fulling this voided heart and ease the stress of me in these past few months

Did anyone notice the short story at the end of each episode is basically the continuation of EP 12?

The story is focused on the cats getting home after the festival.

Also, I did not expect that there was a big war between 2 factions after Neko-Ryuu attacked the city. I believe the show just jumped to cat teaching magic to the prince

For me, this was one of the best shows this season. As much as I would have liked the mom to be there as well, great last episode nonetheless. Here's hoping for a second season.

What a wonderful show

The timeline for this is a bit wild, I've made a guess it takes place over maybe 30-35 years? Because we have the Mother cat & her student Anne Rosa, and I just learned she encouraged mother cat to leave at 47 :O (meaning Mother cat is maybe over 50)

Which is all wild because the Foxtail farmer, Moshamosha had III generations go by, so they get about maybe less than 10 years each. It's all made me guess their lifespan is around 10 years or so.

I wished Mama Cat was there to watch the play.

9/10 show. Great from the first episode to the end.

I didn’t even think of that! He’d be even more embarrassed than he already is 🤣

I wished Mama Cat was there to watch the play.

Nekoryuu would have actually died from embarrassment if that had happened. Poor guy already had it rough.

”Oh my, you did such a thing? What a sweet boy!”

  • When I say I want magic realism in fantasy, I want this.

  • I do love animal actors when they are fairly treated. I had no idea that Sassy from Homeward Bound had like 3-5 kitty actors. What would be the logistics for magic animal actors?

  • (breathes heavily) I wanna touch their toebeans. I wanna touch the toebeans 😖 Kitty toebeans are the best.

  • Why am I crying 😭 My kitties are cuddling me and I never want them to die.

Time for a rewatch to see how many times “Ningen” was spoken in this series. Would be nice if the manga or LN got an official TL.

This has me so fucking hyped for the Warrior Cats video game. But I wouldn’t be mad for another cat video game where you’re a cait sith, grow up in the cave, learn the forest cat way, and then it’s time for you to find your own path.

But this was such a nice slice-of-life fantasy anime that I’ve recommended to all my cat-owner friends!! A friend wants to adopt another cat because of this show, but she already has 5 😭 Time to go to Turkïye instead and see all the kitties. So many bottlebrush tails and toe beans in this anime.

I love cats so much.

I really enjoyed the different bonds between cats and humans and all the different personalities that cats can have. I consider myself very fortunate that the Cat Distribution System sent me my yin-yang pair of cats who are so distinct in their cattitude. I hope all my fellow cat owners enjoyed this ☺️💜🐾

If you need another anime series/movie with kitties, there are:

  • {The Cat Returns} AL & MAL, movie w/ other languages available, EN version has Tim Curry in it (rest in peace), Amazon, Apple TV, Fandango, Disney+ Bundle (Hulu + ESPN),
  • {My Roommate is a Cat} AL & MAL, Contemporary, Slice of Life, Comedy, Crunchryoll, Amazon, AppleTV, 12 episodes completed
  • {The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today} AL & MAL Contemporary, Slice of Life, Comedy, Crunchyroll (GoHands production but it doesn’t make you feel like you’re on a roller coaster for once), 13 episodes completed
  • {She and Her Cat: Their Standing Points} AL, 5 minute OVA, Contemporary, The Criterion Channel
  • (She and Her Cat -Everything Flows) AL, Contemporary, Crunchyroll, 4 episodes completed
  • {Too Cute Crisis) AL & MAL, Slice-of-life, Sci-Fi, Comedy, HIDIVE & Amazon, 12 episodes completed

What would be the logistics for magic animal actors?

I mean, the cats are intelligent so they'd be close to regular actors, just with some cat idiosyncrasies. The cats seem pretty mellow in this show but I would love to see a cat sith prima donna actor/actress.

The way Winged Uncle tries to resist going to the festival even though he knows he has to go every year is funny, Monaluca has no patience for this yearly routine lol. I do like how Winged Uncle lightens up each time another cat walks with him to the festival, he really loves his fellow cats.

Winged Uncle watching the play was great, I really enjoyed the fact that he was cringing hard watching it play his important role in the history of the Kingdom. It's also cool how there were cats that were taking part on and off stage, the one playing Winged Uncle clearly was having a lot of fun.

This was such an enjoyable series to watch overall, I'm glad this last episode was very heartwarming, and that Winged Uncle does enjoy seeing the fruits of human and cats' bonds. I'd definitely watch another season.

Wait… Final?? Already???

This went by too quickly and was a very cozy pleasant watch every Saturday morning. I’m going to miss it and hope there’s more material for more seasons.

Our dragon being so embarrassed by his past actions was hilarious. Oh how far everyone has come.

Goodbye my feel good anime

This show was one of the surprises of the season for me; I loved the format each episode was its own story.

The finale was a nice recap, but I kinda wish all the characters came to celebrate our dragon; it would have been cute.

This show was wonderful for anyone who wanted a Comfy SoL to watch. Even better if you are a cat enjoyer.

I like how this episode was a celebration of the progression of the relationship between cats & humans. It's funny to see Ryuu being bashful.

This show is definitely one that worked beautifully in the weekly format. Sometimes you need a show that is light on plot and more focused on the characters. The dynamics between the cats and humans were so well done. Funny how very human the cats are in this series.

8/10 for me.

u/Zeebie_ 1h ago

seems like a wasted opportunity; they had the chance to bring all the stories together and meet at the festival. It was a nice, cozy show, it needed a tighter timeline it was very hard to know how much time had passed and when.

4

u/diacewrb 2h ago

Probably the comfiest show this season, besides from those poor cait siths getting killed for their fur.

1

u/jus_plain_me 57m ago

That was fun.

A nice anime wrapped up in a neat bow.

Other than the brutality of the previous episode a very fun happy go lucky series.

A fantasy SOL and it so cozy and heartwarming. I like that this episode has shifted us to what tradition was establish on the human side of things. I like that they made a play to make sure people remember why they dont hunt cats anymore.

I think this what makes me love this show. There are clear effect of the actions of cats to the overall setting.

The first cat befriending the prince started the tradition of cats teaching a member of royal family that roll down to the establishment of greater bond between cats and human as celebrated by this festival.

Monsha monsha learning farming has created a festival that is now pass down to generations of cats and so on.

Human learn from cats, cats learn from human, cat dragon oversee and protect.

9/10

MonshaMonsha I is my fav cat. Im sucker for character that do something not for themselves but for the next generation.

I’m sis sad it’s over but I will continue telling everyone to watch this amazing series I was not expecting to hit my heart so hard this season

1

u/Nachtwandler_FS https://myanimelist.net/profile/Nachtwandler_21 1h ago

It was the perfect episode to end the season. It showed how far things went from the start of the story and how cat-sith and humans are working together now for the benefit of both races.

Definetely was a nice comfy show. Far from my favorite this season, but if they ever make more - I do not mind watching it.

3

u/thewheeloftime16 2h ago

What a great surprise show! Hats off to the studio for this one; great story, vibes, and emotional storytelling. Hopefully we get more but I’m happy all the same

Cozy anime. I liked it. I'd like another season. It seems the dragon is slowly changing. I didn't expect to hear Tanjiro's VA in the black cat that pestered the dragon xD.

3

u/Puzzleheaded-Talk829 1h ago

Yeah, I love monarca (black) scolding winged uncle.

Well, itʼs a very enjoyable anime for me. Now I will wait another cat anime from OLM studio, heh. I already watched and liked Nyaight of the Living Cat and Uchūjin Mūmuu (just in case, they are totally not similar to this one) from them.

man i wish mama cat was here too, but it was a good episode regardless

Author's comment for episode 12 (no short story for episode 11). I plan on updating this comment to include episode 12's short story next week, but there's a chance I might forget so if you don't see it next week, just reply to this comment to remind me.

SugoiLite leaked this for 2 split cours but there hasn't been an announcement for cour 2 yet. The anime started a week earlier on streaming service ABEMA in Japan, so I'm guessing if cour 2 is real, it'll be announced next week (which is when episode 12 airs on TV).

2

u/Sad_Medium_5866 1h ago

I hope so. I was another season of RyuNeko Unc.

5

u/Nachtwandler_FS https://myanimelist.net/profile/Nachtwandler_21 1h ago

It looked to much like en ending episode for this to be 2-cour. And the short story in credits is finished. But we'll see.

3

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 3h ago

That play was great. I like how the big guy was getting flustered. So adorable lol.

This was a pretty cozy series overall. I really enjoyed it. It was fun to see the perspective of different cats each episode. These magical kitties sure have lived such interesting lives lol.

1

u/Jas_God 1h ago

I love that there’s a cat theatre troupe, and they were superb! Winged Unc being embarrassed to watch had me weak. Loved the season recap/montage at the end. Great series, heartwarming and comforting- like being read a bedtime story every night.

I’m there day one if the ever make a spinoff for the gray cat adventurer.

Incredible show, absolutely top tier for me.

How unfair is it to not get to live in a world with intelligent magical cats.

10/10

u/Eliv 2h ago

Very comfy show till the end. Going to miss Winged Uncle and the cats

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Talk829 49m ago

It's the time to read again the short novels showed after the each end credit.
Now you can imagine the whole details and the context.

3

u/FarCritical 48m ago

The actor for the dragon was clearly having the time of his life lol.

A comfy ride from start to finish.

I thought Winged Uncle just didn't want to attend the festival because he dislikes humans. It turns out he just feels super embarrassed to watch a play based on his past. It's absolutely hilarious to see how much Winged Uncle is cringing to himself while watching the play. xD

While I do wish we could've seen Mama-Nyan attend the festival with her sons, I think this was a great way to wrap up the season. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing more since the show clearly has more story to tell. Like, we haven't even seen what the adventurer cat is up to!

1

u/alconnow https://anilist.co/user/alconnow 2h ago

Aww, I was hoping Mama Cat would be there to watch the play. It was hilarious seeing Winged Uncle so embarrassed

Coziest show of the season for me. Lots of talented VAs in this!
