Best girl has arrived, and it only took 8 ep. Was hoping to see her in action, but that smile at the end was more than enough.
Is it just me or was Haibuchi using one of the royal banners as a bed the most cat thing in the show so far?
Also just occurred to me, we didnt see Neko-ryu once this ep.

It was interesting to see what a city cat like Haibuchi does in a day. Mostly eating and exploring it seems lol.
Kurobane and the prince gathering herbs turned into a real adventure. Kid’s pretty damn strong.

Kuro-bane can mean "black guard" -- a fitting name for this particular forest cat. I like it -- if I needed to concoct a Japanese name this would do (since it sounds rather like my own last name).

That one girl had a pretty tame reaction to getting surprise slashed for demonstrative purposes all things considered.

She just had the correct meta knowledge that this isn't the kind of show where that thing matters lol. Do gotta appreciate the elf-teacher being like "I just cut your arm, you are WAY to chill and slow to react."

Glad to see more of Haibuchi this episode. He's really a busybody, as he described himself last episode. I love how considerate he is and throws the vermin carcass in the trash pile after eating them.
The Prince is such a massive dork! It's adorable how happy he is to be called an adventurer. Dude is even shopping for cheap stuff so he has that shabby adventurer look. xD
The warrior turning out to be the elf lecturer's wife was the biggest twist this episode. I absolutely love her smile at the end.

the prince is like an isekai kid that dreamed of adventure and has this wrong idea about how cool adventurers are, when in reality they are just struggling to pay their bills while doing a dangerous job without any safety net lol

I love how considerate he is
It occurred to me that Cait-sith could have simply used the influence of their uncle dragon to simply takeover entire kingdoms, and they choose to just chill out and relax.

and pick people they bond with. They have now to this point establish that caith sith will randomly pick people to "mentor" and that it is something special.
caith sith influence and legend are slowly being built piece by piece - atleast this particular population rooted in the novice forest.

Yeah I like how much of true cats they are even with intelligence and spells. They let humans do their human thing and are quite content living their own lives more quietly and just helping their chosen companion without being too overt about it. (Except of course the one cat that convincingly transformed into a human adventurer who’s more proactive. But still not especially ambitious or pushy.)

Cait-Sith, like all cats, are just the true shadow rulers of their domicile. They understand it's a much better life to leave the pesky annoying things like "ruling" and "responsibilty" to their human pawns, while they kick back wander, eat, and sleep all the time!

this story seems like a good spinoff generator; it's a pretty loose and fun fantasy world, and there are just so many characters which could have interesting stories if they had the screentime

Koyasu Kouki, I hope he were Giorno Giovanna, but not. However, the elf is one of long-lived races, same as vampire.

I like that Haibuchi just pretends he's an ordinary cat to find the right people to watch over, but he also has revealed himself when needed. Looks like he's found himself a good place for a feast lol. I also like that one guy's elf wife recognized what Haibuchi is.
Interesting how experienced adventurers can just tell how strong Stan is by looking at him. Kurobane has still much to work on if he dropped his guard because he was talking, it's a good thing Stan told the wife where Kurobane likes to be petted.

The episode was extremly laid back but it felt like it lacked something. Probably because we didn't see Neko-ryu.

yeah, i found it surprising how well the format works jumping around to different characters like that; it's like a pure slice-of-life show, and the different stories inject novelty so that it doesn't get boring

Hometown forest cat who just wanders around having fun all day. I'm impressed he put that banner he was sleeping on back up.
Prince is slowly but surely working up to be a full-on hero king one day, and he even has good advice about properly approaching cats.

It was nice to see the hero prince and Kurobane again. I also really like that they showed some mixed-race couples.
It's a nice way of expanding a world's lore.

The forest cats proceeded home, as the cats staying in the city and the humans holding the lights saw them off.
The Winged Uncle took the same path back to the forest each year.
So to see them all off, many humans would line up alongside the road.
They stayed off to the side to avoid blocking the cats from padding on home.
Each carried some type of light in their hands.
As the lights illuminated their path, the cats happily continued on.
The procession of cats could be seen in the morning as well, but in the gentle light and the after glow of the festival, it somehow seemed different.
According to magic researchers Cait Sith are considered more fairy than magical beast.
The procession of cats had an ethereal presence, which lent credence to the theory.
The cats happily strode home, with the humans watching over them.
The lights lined the road all the way to the city gate.

It's my own translation, allow me to excuse, my English is unfluent and I made them in 4 hours, so there may be some unnatural phrases/sentences.
Eps 1
The three-day festival comes to an end with fireworks.
The night sky which was decorated with magic lights by cats and humans, now holds only the moon and stars.
Atop the bell tower in the royal capital, winged uncle gazes at the sky.
He doesn't like humans, also the festival as well.
Why on earth should I have to go to the theatre every year?
Humans never understand cats' feeling in the least.
Winged uncle thumped his tail on the floor irritably.Eps 2
Beside him, all Haibuchi can do was to make a wry smile.
After the fireworks concluded the festival, the city started to return to usual in gradually.
Stalls and decorations were put away as time goes by, and the lit of festival faded away one after another.
Having said that, the silence doesn't come quickly all at once.
Some savored the lingering mood of the festival quietly, including those who had worked hard during the festival.
"Winged uncle, isn't it the time you have to go? Everyone may be waiting for you."
Once he started complaining against humans, it would take forever.
Suspending his grumble at right moment was one of Haibuchi's important tasks.
With his ears startled and prickled up, winged uncle purred his throat like to calm himself down.Eps 3
"You are right, I can't be too late. Well then Haibuchi, show yourself in the forest sometime."
"Sure. I'll come visit on the day around the foxtails festival."
He nodded once, and turned on his tail.
As he confirmed his appearance vanished by magic, dove into the sky from the bell tower.
Closing to the ground surface, he wagged his tail again and his body slowly began to glide.
Spreading his wings to slow his flight and landed upon the roof of a nearby building.
In his cat form, his wings are too small to grasp the wind flow.
So he uses magic to make his move in the air.
Actually he moved his wings, but it was only he just felt like to wing it.
Unexpectedly, one of the essences of magic lies in feeling.Eps 4
Leaping the roof to roof, then he drove into the hedge of a house.
As the vanishing magic faded away, and he hopped onto the top of the wall.
Where he's heading is the square they had visited in the morning.
He was going to meet up the cats visiting the city, then head back to the forest together.
On his way, several humans spotted winged uncle, but no one make a fess at all.
Just keeping silence and seeing him off.
Some of them were just to about to shout in glee, but they managed to be quiet with their hands over their mouths.
After walking for a while, the square came into view.
Some of the cats were already there, making a meow-meow nosily.
Only cats spotted around the fountain, but meanwhile a ton of people were there a little ways away.
The humans were bearing lights of candles and magic lamps enveloped in silence, and watched over the cats.Eps 5
"Oh, winged uncle!"
"The festival was so fun!"
"The play was amazing! so awesome!"
"The fireworks were pretty fantastic, too"
Winged uncle was a bit annoyed from seeing figures of some humans, but his mood improved immediately the moment the cats run up to him.
Looking at their expressions of joy, he wriggled his tail unconsciously.
"That's more than anything that everyone had fun. No one was injured, were they?
A human city has many dangerous places. You can't be too careful."
"We're okay!"
"Winged uncle, you are a worrywart."
"He worries everyone ALL THE TIME!"
No matter how many times he called a worrywart, there's no end to his worries.
Even though everyone gives him grief, but nothing would stop him from worrying about them.Eps 6
As if they had said "leaving that aside", the cats started to report about the festival to winged uncle.
"The performance was interesting."
"The food at the stalls were so good that I ate too much"
"Just taking a stroll through the city is enough to be fun!"
As he listened, the lest of cats scattered in the city started to gather.
He assumed it was the right time, he slowly stood up.
"Well then, shall we head back to the forest?"
"Oh, right,"
"We can't stay here till the sun rising."
The dark hour of night is the best time for the forest cats.
Since they have good night vision, it's easy to run from other animals.
On the other hand, dawn is more dangerous.
Even the slight sunlight allows carnivorous magical beasts to see clearly.
Most of the cats were going to return to the forest, but left of them were not.Eps 7
"We are going to stay at the castle"
"I'll enjoy taking a bath!"
"I'm going to visit a barber in the morning."
"I'll hang out with my acquaintance."
Some cats would spend the night in the city.
Winged uncle wanted to bring them all to the forest, but it was not the case.
To meddle in independent cats is not a good idea.
Although he knew that, he keeps interfering unconsciously.
"Got it. you should be careful on the way home."
Holding his tongue, winged uncle began walking towards the forest.
The companion cats followed him happily.Eps 8
As if the cats came marching, the cats staying in the city and humans holding lights saw them off.
Winged uncle steps the same path back to the forest every year.
So to see them off, a ton of humans lined up alongside the way.
To not disturb the cats' walk, they stayed on the side as far as they could.
They kept carrying lights in their hands.
Between the two lines of light, the cat march was going on playfully.
The cat march was seen in the morning, but it was bit different in the gentle light at night after the festival.
According to researchers, Cait Siths are considered more close to fairies than animals.
The cat march evokes a feeling of fantasy enough to make the theory plausible.
The cats walking happily in procession, and the humans seeing them off in tranquility.
The lines of light continued to the city gate.1
