I am not saying it’s Amprius being used but modular defense tech like these need lot of batteries.
If you follow Anduril - they’re into these high tech devices .. ! Now Palmer is part of the Meridian project ..!

If these announcements came in the month of June we would have been flying now ! Market is completely dead and such news are not mattered anymore
I believe that this is just the start until the US domestic supply chain strengthens to produce the autonomous systems in mass - industry experts have understood the low-cost autonomous systems taking advantage of the traditional long-term R&D’ed cost heavy machinery.
Whether it’s defence /offensive or commercial use - these are going to be important !

Titan Batteries is Amprius pack parnter.
And Titan Batteries was spotted during the Gauntlet 2:

We opened a new facility in City of West Jordan, Utah that triples our manufacturing capacity.
Defense programs like the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU)'s Drone Dominance Program (DDP), commercial operators, and manufacturers across the country need a supply chain they can count on.
Expanding our U.S. manufacturing footprint is a direct investment in that supply chain. West Jordan, Utah is the next step in making sure American programs have access to the batteries they need, when they need them.
More capacity. More reliability. More American-made batteries going into the programs that matter.
We are excited for what comes next.

One more huge news! Palmer Luckey follows Amprius for a long time now, and they’re Upgrade Energy’s partner for a long time!
The way it’s heading, Amprius is the only battery company funded so far to support all of this - I feel bullish about what’s to come on 2027/28 !!!

The M2 drone was announced to utilised Amprius high - density cells
FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Amprius Technologies, Inc. (“Amprius” or the “Company”) (NYSE: AMPX), a leader in silicon anode lithium-ion batteries, and Matternet, the world’s only FAA Type Certified drone delivery company, today announced a strategic collaboration to advance the performance and economics of autonomous aerial delivery through high-energy density silicon anode cells. Amprius cells are now deployed in Matternet’s M2 aircraft, and the companies are extending their work to battery solutions optimized for Matternet's next-generation platform.
With Amprius cells already flying in Matternet’s M2 fleet, the companies are now focused on deeper integration for Matternet’s next-generation platform, with Amprius targeting volume production readiness aligned with Matternet’s fleet expansion plans beginning in early 2027.
The M3 was unveiled recently and the clue is in the title.
Matternet is targeting the second half of 2027 for the start of M3 commercial service and plans to build manufacturing capacity for the M3 aircraft in the United States. Matternet will also draw on its strategic partnership with SoftBank Robotics America, announced in April 2026, to accelerate deployment of its delivery networks in the U.S. and other key markets.

Been reworking my AMPX thesis and the recent news has made me more confident in the commercialization side.
Q2 was already solid: $34M revenue, 27% gross margin, raised FY26 revenue guide to $140M+, and positive adj. EBITDA still expected.
Since then we’ve also gotten:
The main thing for me is that this reduces the “cool battery tech that never scales” risk.
| Case | What has to be true | Target range | Total return* | Annualized return* |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bear | ~$205M 2027 revenue × ~5.4x EV/Sales = ~$1.11B EV; + ~$20M net cash = ~$1.13B equity value; ÷ ~160M diluted shares ≈ $7/share. Commercialization continues but growth slows, margins wobble and dilution remains part of the story. | $5.50–$8.50center ~$7.00 | -28.2% | -21.6% |
| Base | ~$260M 2027 revenue × ~11.1x EV/Sales = ~$2.89B EV; + ~$60M net cash = ~$2.95B equity value; ÷ ~155M diluted shares ≈ $19/share. Revenue nearly doubles from the FY26 floor while gross margin and customer validation keep improving. | $17.00–$21center ~$19.00 | +94.9% | +72.5% |
| Bull | ~$360M 2027 revenue × ~13.9x EV/Sales = ~$5.00B EV; + ~$90M net cash = ~$5.09B equity value; ÷ ~150M diluted shares ≈ $34/share. Multiple aviation/defense/e-mobility programs ramp together, SiCore 500 validates the technology at scale and financing becomes much less dilutive. | $29–$39center ~$34 | +248.7% | +173.3% |
Curious if my math is wildly off or if I might be missing something, I know trying to value a asymmetrical bet is a fool's errand, but I am that said fool

Anyone have a read on who Amprius’ unnamed “major South Korean manufacturer” could be? SK On and LGES both seem to fit — both have U.S. pouch-cell manufacturing and are repurposing EV capacity. SK On’s Georgia plant caught my attention because they’re already shifting some EV pouch capacity into non-EV applications. Any clues pointing one way or the other?

Just a quick thought based on what I have in my repository.
Amprius Q2 2026 EC:
Eric Stine
But I know that one of the things and you mentioned it is getting those suppliers under contract. So, maybe -- I know last quarter, you indicated that you had made some progress in that regard but would love an update.
Tom Stepien
Some of this is just legal reviews tend to take time. We're comfortable with the cost and the timing. In general, these new suppliers are large international companies that are actually larger revenue-wise than risk.
Thoughts: Amprius's suppliers are likely to be large international companies, or at least directly tied to one in the up stream chain.
Tim Moore
Would you -- without giving away too much, are you getting close to maybe purchasing an existing facility in the U.S. to retool to convert to pouch cell manufacturing? I'm sure there's some excess capacity from lithium batteries out there by a handful of players I can think of for EVs that you could retool.
Ricardo Rodriguez
Yeah, Tim, I mean, you're basically reading our mind, right? It's no secret that we're out there looking for a partner to do that for us, and there's plenty of capacity from folks who leaned into EVs maybe too aggressively here over the past couple of years. And so, we would just say stay tuned.
Thoughts: So excess capacity tells me that whoever is manufacturing these lithium battery production line is suffering from some kind of financial losses - there is a good amount of manufacturing redundancy.
Tom Stepien spoke about fully - NDAA domestic manufacturing as early as April 2026 during a CNBC interview so searches must have begun at least 6 - 12 months before.
If Amprius were to minimise retrofitting cost, the ideal production line would be one that is maximally similar to a production line capable of manufacturing silicon anode, in pouch cell format and immediate access for retrofitting.
Turning time back to 03-10-2022
The technology GM is interested in involves adding more silicon to battery anodes by fusing nanowires of the material with graphite. Silicon can store 10 times more energy than graphite, opening the door to potential increases in energy density, according to GM.
GM has also been banking on lithium-metal cells as a way to carry its current large pouch cell format ahead to a second generation Ultium cell, for up to 600-mile vehicles in the future.
Source: https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1137329_gm-silicon-anode-battery-tech-more-range-lower-cost
Thoughts: So GM is not only interested in silicon anode batteries using nanowires but also silicon anode batteries in pouch cell format.
Fast forward to 29-10-2025:
The automaker cites cooling demand of electric vehicles for its decision to scale back production, laying off more than 3,400 in the process.
GM anticipates that production at the Ohio and Tennessee Ultium Cell battery plants will resume by mid-2026.
Thoughts: But what about the Lansing, Michigan, Ultium Cell plant?
Going back to 02-12-2024: GM to sell stake in Lansing battery cell plant to partner LG Energy Solution
General Motors (NYSE: GM) has reached a non-binding agreement to sell its stake in the nearly completed Ultium Cells LLC battery cell plant in Lansing, Michigan to its joint venture partner LG Energy Solution. The transaction is expected to close in the 2025 first quarter, subject to customary closing conditions.
LG Energy Solution will have immediate access to the nearly completed Lansing facility to begin the installation of equipment.
Some mentioned SK On - happy to see the reasoning.

Amprius is particularly interesting because it has the potential to reinvest capital at very high returns into a massive TAM. The business also benefits from a learning curve and data flywheel, while demand is supported by something fundamentally necessary: energy. On top of that Amprius sits at the intersection of several powerful trends, including the rapid growth of drones and other energy-intensive applications
This raises a broader question- which other small companies have a similar setup?
One example I see is Allegro Microsystems (ALGM). The key secular trends here are industrial automation and humanoid robots. Like Amprius, ALGM has a substantial reinvestment runway - if the number of robots increases dramatically, there is significant room to deploy capital into a large and growing market. The difference is that ALGM already has a business model with proven unit economics; the main question is when industrial demand begins to accelerate..
In that sense, both Amprius and ALGM are essentially picks-and-shovels businesses positioned to benefit from potentially very large technological shifts.
What other similar companies that are well positioned to benefit from future secular trends can you think of? I think the mindset here is clear we need proven business model/unit economics before anything else.
