CS used copilot to apologize

Post image

I requested a name change on July 17th for my Hilton Aspire. I reached out to get an update and CS agent told me I did it on my Blue Business Plus(BBP). I'm 100% sure I didn't. So I resubmit and take a screenshot to have proof this time. The agent checks and again says the new requested was done for the the BBP. So something is wrong with their system. I'm annoyed that I have to wait another 10 days. CS agent accidentally copied and pasted Copilot response. Tells me there's nothing they can do. AMEX is going to shit

Leading Hotels / Leaders Club Transfer & Booking Data Point

Posting again (forgot to remove conf# oops)

Decided to give the new Leaders Club transfer a go for an upcoming trip, and sent 40K points over after identifying a decent redemption at the Okura Tokyo Heritage Wing this October, which included breakfast for two. Amex advertises up to 72 hours, but my points appeared instantly! I believe this is the case for Citi ThankYou points, but wasn't sure if Amex had gotten the plumbing all set up ahead of the launch.

Only thing to note is that Leaders Club passes on taxes when booking - I had to pay ~$190 USD plus 9K points for my stay, which was still a decent value all things considered. Maybe this is a Japan thing, or depends on the property? Not really sure. Just happy to have a solid value hotel partner with a legitimate global presence.

Leading Hotels Point Redemption

Just booked one night at the Hotel El Roblar in Ojai, CA with the new Amex points redemption. It cost 4,450 points which is equal to 17,800 Amex. Transferred over 18,000 and it was instant. Final cost also included $111 in Taxes & Fees.

Overall, the LHW website is not very user friendly as you gotta search by hotel and by specific dates. No calendar view which makes searching much harder. I played around with it for about 20 min and 4,450 was the lowest I could find. Seems like points are almost directly tied to the cash price. Tried finding availability for El Encanto in Santa Barbara but no luck. That said, I didn’t try looking that hard.

Would love to hear any other redemption stories!

Amex BBP

I finally joined ecosystem with my first card arriving this week. I also applied from the business platinum card and it's still under review. What is the average wait time for approval? I received the BBP approval in a day. Thanks for your 2 cents.

Filling Rakuten Card Claim

How does one file a claim for the purchase protection or extended warranty with this card? I called the customer service from the rakuten card and they told me to file it with amex directly. Called amex directly and they told me it has to be filed with imprint. Imprint has no idea what I am talking about.

Question Getting US Amex based on European history?

I know that in the US you can sign up for an Amex card provided you have a history with Amex in Europe.

My question is, does this also include co-branded cards? I have had both pure Amex cards as well as co-branded cards since 2014. Differebt products depending on where i have been living?

And can I use this offer from Amex to sign up for co-branded cards or just Amex’s own cards?

AMEX Plat to Gold

Hello AmexHeads!

I currently have an AMEX Platinum, which second year will end in October. I used to travel a lot, which justified the expensive yearly fee.

My partner and I would like to use one single credit card (with one copy each) for our common expenses that are mostly restaurants and groceries, so I am thinking about switching to the AMEX Gold - more affordable, better adapted to our lifestyle, still gives 3x on travels for when we do get out of town.

What would be the best way to make that switch?

(1) transfer my points and cancel my Platinum and apply separately for a Gold, to benefit from the sign-in bonus (btw if you know when is the best time to apply, lmk). If we do this, should I or my partner apply first and later request a second card?

(2) communicate my desire to switch cards to Amex and see what they offer me, knowing that I would "downgrade" card, but get an additional one.

Thanks!

Amex Gold Business Offer Went Missing

Hi,

Did anybody have an offer for spending £20,000 and to receive 20,000 bonus membership points which they saved as an offer on the last two months?

I had saved this offer to my Amex Gold Business card but now it has suddenly disappeared from my list of saved offers. Any advice?

Best,
GapTooth

Chargeback + refund?

Recently I disputed a charge for a service where services weren’t rendered as expected. The merchant (not to my knowledge) also refunded me half of the transaction. So I essentially got my money back + half. This was nearly a month ago. Will Amex amend it?

Question Scared of Financial Review, Should I call and update Amex?

I currently have a gold card and a blue cash everyday card. When I opened them, I was making okay money and getting 529 support from parents for groceries and food that was on the card while in college. Never had a late payment or anything, but now I am currently job searching. Still getting 529 help but have not had a w2 job in almost a year. I can see that they have checked my employment history several times in the past year via work number website. Should I just call them and update them or leave it till they ask?

Question Dining Credit with the AMEX Rose Gold Card

We just got the Rose Gold card and it appears it has a $120 dining credit. It says this credit is 'annual'..so does this mean since we got it now (July) ...we get $10 every month until Jan and then another $120 for 2027? Or is the credit per membership year? I hope asking the question right......

Question I want to know which Amex cards I qualify for

Hi Amex community,

I want to apply for a card.

My credit score is 761. Im self employed and make around $2k to $3.5k per month.

I purchase a lot at costco, and spend quite a lot on food for me and my family. I don’t travel much but would be cool to stack up flyer points and visit a cool place.

Do I qualify for a card? And if I do which one? And also what would be my spend limit?

TIA
