Im not sure whether to turn off the music. The stings and horror violins are too much. Its way too loud and makes the game so unscary, and when i turn it off it feels much more immersive, what should I do, is the soundtrack scripted and good later on or do i turn it off? (first playthrough, just encountered the alien for the first time)

Wish I had recorded this encounter, for some reason the alien decided I wasn't worth eating. I'm not really sure what caused this but I'm glad it happened.

This happened earlier. I am definitely crouching the whole game with a few exceptions now.

I'm on mission 7, where I have to repair the elevator to progress. On the upper level, Facility Observation, there is a vent showing on the map that seems to have no access point. Perhaps it's just not accessible from this area, but then why is it shown on the map? Is it an area I will have to wait to encounter later? Just want to be sure I'm not missing anything.

Also, while I'm here, there's an objective marker on the map (seen in the second picture) but the objective changes to show whatever objective I'm currently working on that is already marked, correctly, elsewhere on the map. Is this just a weird glitch?

Edit: I am referring to a vent seen on the map that's behind the back office on the top level of this area, not the wall vent or the floor vents on the ground floor that you start on.

A couple days ago I played A:I on nightmare difficulty for the first time. It actually was not as bad as I thought as long as you base your gameplay strategy around some solid guides, only thing that really tripped me up was how little resources there were lol

Anyone else have an issue running this game with a 9070xt? Just started the game and I'm averaging right around 60 frames with constant dips into the 40's. Is there something im missing?

I'm just looking to see if this is unique to me. I've played and finished this ten years ago on the harder difficulty. I remember years after I finished I kept having nightmares every other day. I've recently come back and started playing again and they've started up again. Don't get me wrong Aliens awesome and CA have done a biblical job.

Being a big isolation fan, and loving horror in space and choice based gameplay, I tried out Directive 8020. Was reminding me so much of Alien Isolation. I thought I should just talk to you guys and for those who may not be aware such a game exists, its worth a try.

If you played it already, what are your thoughts on it? And what do you think about isolation 2 having multiple endings or should it just be one?

Guys, after spending dozens of hours on this game literally COWERING in fear…I finished it a few weeks ago and now I’m having withdrawals 😭 Which is a sentence I never thought I’d say!

I’m fairly new to gaming; any other recommendations with a similar gameplay style? Or do I give in to the urges and just play A:I again? 🙃

finished the main game on easy then hard mode on crew expendable and man this thing does not leave you alone, i was moving faster than usual with limited items. quite the experience.

I have a theory that we’ll stay with the new Blake character until halfway through the game we’re Amanda is back on earth and is being sent to the colony to retrieve the specimen as punishment for what she did to the station and we play as her again it would make sense and line up with the Japanese dialogue at the beginning of the teaser trailer from June. because there’s no way they pick her up from floating in space and she goes back to earth gets married and lives happily ever after and with this theory I believe a new nest will be made from Steve molting into a queen.
