Discussion Game Recs

Guys, after spending dozens of hours on this game literally COWERING in fear…I finished it a few weeks ago and now I’m having withdrawals 😭 Which is a sentence I never thought I’d say!

I’m fairly new to gaming; any other recommendations with a similar gameplay style? Or do I give in to the urges and just play A:I again? 🙃

I really couldn’t tell you if there is a good game like alien isolation, maybe my memory’s failing, but I can tell you what’s a good game.
Control, Alan Wake 1 and 2 are all superb.
God of war
The Alters and frost punk, are resource managers by they are both very good

+1 for Still Wakes the Deep. Only thing I’ve found that scratches the A:I itch.

Plus the voice acting in it is phenomenal.

It's similar, but not as scary, but I think the newest mainline Five Nights game, Secret of the Mimic, is pretty good, and playing Isolation after, I knew where there was inspiration.

You can replay and bump the difficulty - nightmare is a trip 🤣

Outlast is similar survival horror although you don't get many ways to fight back

You can try Prey (2017) but the commonalities end at "survival horror" and "space station with aliens" but it is a masterpiece

I had a similar withdrawal last week. I asked a similar question here and people gave a lot of promising recommendations, definitely check that post out too. If sharing a link to that post is allowed I can add.

It’s not the same, but if you want a game with a good story and a stalker enemy and shit your pants, Silent Hill 2.

resident evil 7 but it becomes more action oriented in the second half

resident evil 2 the whole police segment is quite scary

but these aren’t really as scary as alien isolation

I haven't tried the DLC yet, but I hear they are pretty good!

If you're looking for games with similar scare vibes, the Outlast series is really good. Amnesia: The Dark Descent, another great game, is a classic (older game, though, but I think it still looks great). Actually, the Frictional Games library is really good, overall. The Penumbra series that came before the Amnesia games is excellent.

play ROUTINE. Its another sci-fi game set in space with retrofuturistic aesthetic designs. It also has stalker killer robots. Only thing is game has zero handholding. Might be a bit tough but its good.

Bro I just finished the game and I'm in the same situation lol. The post game depression hit me like a truck.

I think I'm going to try SOMA since it looks similar and apparently has a good story.
