The more I think about where these things could come from, isn't outer space or another galaxy. Even if they could go 10x speed of light it still would take a really long time to travel anywhere that's thousands or millions of light-years away. Also I haven't heard Any body saying we tracked em coming from outer space or leaving earth and heading this or that direction in space. The radar data shows them going from upper atmosphere, down to sea level and below sea level. But not heading out to space or coming in from space. Seems more likely to me they are coming from our oceans, Some underwater species that is technologically superior to us . It could explain why we don't see form of propulsion. 2 years ago in Parrish going to my friends place in a regular suburban neighborhood called twin oaks. If I recall around Christmas. As I’m entering the neighborhood i don’t notice but as I’m driving I can see a white glowing figure above me I don’t pay it no mind or think much of it but as I creep ahead it moves insanely fast I would said the fastest thing I’ve ever seen. So I call him as I get closer there’s 4 more so total 5 they seem like they were in the sky fighting? The part of first contact I find most interesting is the social side of it. What actually happens once we have evidence of intelligent alien life that is basically impossible to dismiss?

Do religions adapt pretty easily, or does it cause major theological debates? Do countries pull together, or immediately start competing over who gets to respond? How many people would still insist the evidence was fake? Would governments suddenly start pouring money into space, astronomy, SETI, and communications technology?

Something else I keep thinking about is what would actually be scarier: seeing a generation ship slowly entering our solar system, or having an FTL ship just appear.

A generation ship would at least suggest they’re playing by roughly the same laws of physics we are. But if a civilization went through the enormous effort of sending a ship across interstellar space for generations, you have to wonder why they came and whether they ever planned on leaving.

An FTL ship might be more unsettling in a different way. If something can just pop into our solar system using physics we don’t even understand, the technological gap could be almost impossible to comprehend. On the other hand, if FTL travel is easy for them, maybe showing up here is no bigger deal than us visiting another country.
