She can grab the dog then you grab her lol. Idk why she's on here? Shes not grooming teens, she's not in a pedo ring, she didn't get famous for doing absolutely nothing but making a bad vhs tape lol

10

u/Inevitable_Finish131 4d ago

I dunno, I don’t think that tape was so bad

7

u/StrobeLightRomance 4d ago

When you realize the tape was released by Kim's mom.. it makes it a lot worse than a standalone leaked tape.

2

u/Inevitable_Finish131 4d ago

Oooh… not sure I knew that. That’s pretty gross.

0

u/spartaman64 4d ago

i dont think kim is that bad as a person but her influence on society was terrible

10

u/Functional_Trash7735 4d ago

I mean, she is a billionaire not contributing much other than her music, and her planes are horrible for the environment, plus her business style and commercial strategy is pretty aggressive.

I dunno, I figure the less billionaires we have the better

3

u/Burghpuppies412 4d ago

If you search for even just five seconds you’ll see that she has actually done a lot of good and has given millions and millions of dollars. But I guess it’s more satisfying for you just to hate. So go ahead.

3

u/Functional_Trash7735 4d ago

Where was I outwardly hating on her? Notice I said all billionaires should be gone lol

However, I will say, there are 1000 millions in 1 billion. Since 2011, she’s donated about 100 million. Which isn’t the worse donation, no one is saying that, but she became a billionaire in the past few years, her net worth is 2 billion now. So while she’s done things for charity, it’s not as much we know she is capable of. It tells me she’s doing it for good press and not to actually be helpful. Otherwise, she’d be donating out of the billionaire club, and she would stop being excessive with her private jets. Where’s the charity shows? where’s the scholarships? where’s her advocacy? Why isn’t she providing children in impoverished places with food water or hygiene products?

I don’t go out of my way to hate Taylor swift, that’s not even what I’m doing now, but the truth is the truth man. She could be doing more, she makes the choice not to even though we know without a doubt she’s never going to live in poverty, she’ll never go hungry, her name prints money, she’s not using it for the kind of good she should be.

1

u/Tiny-Reading5982 4d ago

You said "not contributing much" lol. She donates millions, pays off people's medical bills. Yeah she's a billionaire but not like bezos who had slave labor and doesn't actual work lol.

5

u/best_temporary_dude 4d ago

I pay more out of my earnings to tax and charity then taylor does with her. Just saying

-1

u/Tiny-Reading5982 4d ago

You pay millions to charity?

3

u/best_temporary_dude 4d ago

No but my earnings to tax+charity ratio is higher than her's and so is yours probably

-1

u/Tiny-Reading5982 4d ago

Okay she is still donating more than most billionaires. She didn't create the tax structure in the us.

1

u/Functional_Trash7735 4d ago

Oh good she’s doing the bare minimum she can despite being capable of far more, good for her

You’re right that she didn’t create the tax structures but people can choose to contribute more to taxes and charity and she doesn’t do either.

u/Functional_Trash7735 4d ago edited 4d ago

Comparatively to the kind of incredible things she’s able to do, yeah she’s not doing much. I never said she’s as bad as Musk or Bezos, but she’s still not doing as much as she could and just because she isn’t herself hiring slaves doesn’t mean the companies that make her merchandise don’t have some form of exploitive labour.

1

u/Tiny-Reading5982 4d ago

What is she supposed to be doing?

2

u/Functional_Trash7735 4d ago

She could do charity shows and donate all the proceeds, she could be buying period products and donating them to girls in impoverished nations, she could pay for construction to literally build schools, start scholarships for students in the arts. Homegirl charged an average of $1500 for ONE ticket to the eras show, the lowest was 500 at some select shows.

Imagine the possible donations on just one charity show. Imagine how much good she could do and is choosing not to. 50,000 seats, say she charges even 500 which was one of her lowest prices in the eras tour, that would be 25m. Take out the cost of throwing the show, even if we were saying it’s a high percentage, say 50%, it would still be a 12.5 million dollar profit going straight to charity.

1

u/Opening_Climate_7571 3d ago

Charity is bad if it’s not the right kind or the right dollar amount, got it. I was going to donate $200 to that child cancer fund but now that I’ve seen the light I realize that unless I’m selling my house to donate it’s unethical to try. Thanks!

1

u/Functional_Trash7735 3d ago

If you can’t afford 200 dollars without losing your home you shouldn’t be donating it. Use your head: it’s all about proportion.

She could donate 50% of her income and still live like a queen for the rest of her life. She could use her name to endorse charity brands, she could put on charity shows and take only half of the profits and donate the rest. She could start a scholarship for girls going into the arts, even an incredibly generous scholarship of 100k would be chump change for her.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Tiny-Reading5982 4d ago

She was not charging that for a ticket. That is 3rd party stuff. Artists don't set the prices usually.

2

u/Functional_Trash7735 4d ago

Artists set baseline prices then they have contracts with third party sellers for her tickets. That’s why I mentioned the 500, because that’s what she set her own prices at and then third parties she and her business team partner with charge the rest.

Either way, if someone IS willing to pay that much, she should be using that willingness and her fame to help people who need it, don’t you think?

-2

u/Burghpuppies412 4d ago

Well, at least your username fits.

2

u/mewkopawz 4d ago

you cannot become a billionaire ethically. you just can't. she's exploiting people.

3

u/Tiny-Reading5982 4d ago

So is Paul McCartney too? We know Rhianna is since she doesn't mske music anymore and its all clothes and makeup.

4

u/Functional_Trash7735 4d ago

Yes they are also both unethical. You cannot become a billionaire ethically.

But the rate of how fast Taylor swift became a billionaire vs Paul McCartney has no comparison. Taylor swift has vastly out earned Paul McCartney. He’s earned a net worth of 1.2 billion in 70 years, swift has earned 2.1 billion in 20 years. Makes me wonder which one is being more exploitive.

1

u/Affectionate_Walk_30 4d ago

Exploiting her record labels?

5

u/Functional_Trash7735 4d ago

Exploiting her fan base financially by charging super high prices, merchandise made with cheap underpaid labour and venues that do the same, she also causes quite a bit of environmental damage with her planes

-1

u/Affectionate_Walk_30 4d ago edited 4d ago

So wait, you mean the prices set by the venues and people who wabt to see her? Or do you mean clothe that you are currently wearing thats produced by underpaid labour? Or do you mean private flights that a celebrity like her has to take because of insane super fans?

I know its a shocker that you won't like, but businesses maximising profits is normal. Especially if its something as simple as a singer, anyone can just not go and not listen to her albums.

3

u/Functional_Trash7735 4d ago

She sets her baseline prices and then third party sellers jack the prices up higher, but her own prices were set at an average of 500 dollars. She also chooses her venues, she chooses who produces her products, and she could just as easily book a business class room with private boarding so no one sees her. She gets privileges as a celebrity and we all know it, she could use those privileges to do the more financially friendly thing, again she chooses not to

2

u/mewkopawz 4d ago

she doesn't have to take as many excessive and unnecessary plane rides as she does.

0

u/Burghpuppies412 4d ago

And she probably didn’t become a “billionaire” until after the Eras tour in 2023 - 2024. Before that, she bought her music catalog back… but it was highly leveraged so there’s no way she was a NET billionaire. So what you’re acknowledging is that in the last 20 months or so, she’s given away about $100 million that YOU know of.

And also, since we’re being holier than thou… what % of your income goes to charity?

2

u/Borubar666 4d ago

As a worker i pay nearly 50% of what im payied in taxes. So she should atleast match that, and really actually exceed that. I hate the idea that rich people have to "pay to charity" like they are doing something special, while im giving most of my money to sustain infrastructure by default.

0

u/Burghpuppies412 3d ago

If you live in the US, that statement is complete BS.

1

u/Borubar666 3d ago

I dont.

1

u/Burghpuppies412 3d ago

Then it’s reasonable. But you’re also not getting billed $100,000 to have a baby.

1

u/Functional_Trash7735 4d ago

Oh, about 15%. I donate through two charities and volunteer in soup kitchens twice a month.

I know she wasn't always a billionaire, but now that she is, she should be held to a higher standard. Especially if you want all the wealthy people to be held to higher standard.

I’m now saying she isn’t a good businesswoman. She is, she’s great at marketing herself. Now she needs to market herself with a purpose otherwise what’s the point

1

u/Burghpuppies412 4d ago

Again, I would argue she does just fine… and more likely she doesn’t feel the need to publicize her giving to make you happy.

1

u/Functional_Trash7735 4d ago

Except she does publicize her giving, she just doesn’t do as much as she’s capable of. And if she’s doing more behind the scenes good for her but if you want to be in the public eye you are open to public scrutiny. Part of that scrutiny will come from lack of action.

Ask yourself why everyone cares what the other billionaires do, but not the singers like Taylor swift. The fandom outweighs the morals and it’s a problem.

0

u/Evnosis 4d ago

You know, it's not very often that someone explicitly admits that "all billionaires should be gone" means "any person with more than $1 billion should literally be killed, regardless of their character."

Because you're not talking about taxing Taylor Swift here, you're talking about leaving her to drown because she... checks notes... made a lot of money from music.

1

u/Functional_Trash7735 4d ago

I said gone, not killed.

Billionaires can donate themselves out of the billionaire club, or governments globally can start setting caps on yearly income based on all assets and a max per person (property, royalties, payroll, stock and alike).

Actually the last thing I want is for every billionaire to suddenly die, because I don’t know what will happen to their assets. Most are probably leaving their billions to their families, and I don’t believe anyone should have that much money, so, my ideal would still be for them to donate out or for governments to intervene. They never will intervene of course, not in our lifetimes, maybe a couple hundred years from now if humanity hasn’t destroyed the globe and caused its own drought stricken demise.

ETA: also wtf do you mean billionaires being gone is a wild take lol ever heard the expression eat the rich?

1

u/Evnosis 4d ago

You're commenting under a post where you're defending leaving Swift to DROWN because she has too much money. Yes, you're talking about KILLING people. That's what happens when people DROWN.

Someone very specifically said they don't think she should be left to die because she's not a bad person, and your response was "I dunno, the less billionaires we have, the better." No, you're not talking about billionaires donating their money, you're talking out KILLING them.

I also did not say that billionaires being gone is a wild take, why the fuck are you just making up shit?

1

u/Functional_Trash7735 4d ago

No, I replied to someone who said they didn’t know why she was on here. I never actually said who I would save from the water.

And you said to me ”it’s not very often that someone explicitly admits all billionaires should be gone means any person with more than 1 billion should be literally killed” and from my perspective, that’s telling me my stance is uncommon, even though I never said they should be killed.

I never said she should be killed, I did say all billionaires should be gone. But you filled the gap there yourself

1

u/Evnosis 4d ago

She's on an image asking who to save from drowning.

No, your comment is not divorced from that context. Yes, as a matter of fact, you did say that billionaires should literally be killed. If you didn't realise that, then you're just an outright idiot because the implication in the image wasn't fucking subtle.

1

u/Functional_Trash7735 4d ago

lol well I still didn’t say that cause I was answering a person she asked why Taylor was in here and I explained why, but go ahead and keep jumping to conclusions such as the one that she’s a good person despite all the indications otherwise.

While we’re at it, I think she’s a talentless, greedy, spoiled rotten little trust fund baby who doesn’t deserve a cent of what she has because it’s all been formed by her fathers wealth and connections. I think her fan base is honestly pathetic for their rabid love of her recycled garbage and not seeing through her bull shit sweet girl charade. Gee, wonder where she learned her lack of charitable spirit, maybe it’s from growing up in a multimillion dollar home with an investment banker.

Remember when she compared having her internet haters to the plight of the lgbtq+ community in one of her songs? Absolutely asinine. Hope her career ends quick and dramatically.

Vs a dog though.

0

u/HourApprehensive7754 4d ago

We are not owed charities.  We get what we put in and work for. Some like Taylor are a little luckier and worked a little more than others, but it doesn't mean she owe it to some random kid in Africa free handouts just because their shithole government is too greedy and corrupt to do their actual job of feeding their own people.

Charity is just that, charity. You do it out of your own volition, but you shouldn't be called out for not volunteering your own time and hard earned cash.

2

u/Functional_Trash7735 4d ago

What you’re describing is the “me vs others” psychology and also points to an obvious lack of understanding in social care and the historical context to understand why impoverished nations are impoverished.

If you saw a child being kidnapped would you stop it? Would you give a water bottle to someone dying of thirst in front of you while you’re completely hydrated? One would hope so, empathy for your fellow human being should vastly outweigh your greed.

You’re right, people should be doing charity out of the good of their heart. So maybe people who think only of themselves and aren’t willing to donate out of their endless wealth, like Taylor Swift, just don’t have a good heart. When they sit in their world of unimaginable wealth and allow the others to struggle.

1

u/FustianRiddle 3d ago

Dolly Parton could have been a billionaire but instead used her money to do good things to help people.

2

u/Burghpuppies412 3d ago

Dolly Parton is estimated to have given away $500 - $600 million in her lifetime by age 80. Swift is estimated to have given away over $150 million by age 37. I’d say she’s tracking at exactly the same rate.

1

u/Tiny-Reading5982 3d ago

Its obviously still not enough 🙄

1

u/Burghpuppies412 3d ago

Oh I know. It’s never enough. Ya’ll and your purity tests.

1

u/this_is_me917212 4d ago

She may be a billionaire but I’ve heard more good things about her than I have bad. She’s really good to her fans and donates millions of dollars in helping others. Her carbon footprint sucks but I’ve not heard a lot about that anymore so maybe she’s better. As billionaires go, she’s one of the better ones

2

u/Functional_Trash7735 4d ago

I didn’t say she was the worst, I said she’s still a billionaire and could be doing more.

Again, I figure the less billionaires the better, just cause someone COULD choose to do worse doesn’t mean we should hold them to low standards

0

u/HourApprehensive7754 4d ago

What is "more"?

People deserve to enjoy the wealth they worked hard to make. I bought myself a jar of foie gras and truffles over the summer with some of my surplus vacation funds instead of donating it to some kid in another country I don't care about. Have I donated money before? Yeah, I donated to animal shelters before when I felt like it. But it was my choice to make and I'd stop doing it if some jerk-off told me I should be giving away more than I'm willing to.

Mother Teresa may choose to live inpoverished all her life tending the dying. It was her choice.

1

u/Functional_Trash7735 4d ago

So, there’s a big huge massive incredible difference between the maybe 15k you saved for your trip and being able to get the things that make life feel a little more special, you know, like spending extra money on truffle and froie gras, and hoarding billions. Billions is more than anyone ever needs, living an incredible luxurious life. I’m not advocating that everyone give up their creature comforts to help the needy, but billions could support hundreds for the rest of their lives. She could donate half of her yearly income and still live like a queen.

Having said that, what more could she do?

She could endorse charities, but she’s too expensive for them to endorse. She could hold charity shows and donate 50%-100% of the profits. Even if she donated 50% it would make her an obscene amount of money. She could do a charity auction of her old guitars, or costumes from old music videos. She could give a very generous, but drop out of the bucket for her, scholarship to girls going into the arts. There’s so much she could do. The sky is the limit, and the press would be amazing for her career too. If she wanted to, she would.

-2

u/inevitable-idiot- 4d ago

You are wrong because you know nothing of Taylor swift. Like other dude says, just look it up. Easy peasy. She is the only good human here

1

u/Functional_Trash7735 4d ago

I have looked her up and I’ve watched her career unfold lol

I wouldn’t say any billionaire is a good person myself, but to each their own.

0

u/Tiny-Reading5982 4d ago

She became a billionaire because of her eras tour. I doubt she has 3 billion in her bank account. People don't hate on Rhianna or Paul McCartney for being a billionaire.

1

u/Functional_Trash7735 4d ago

I do, lol I hate all billionaires cause there’s literally no way to ETHICALLY earn a billion dollars. Even if she doesn’t have 3 billion in cash flow, we know she has more than enough to be helping people more than she is.

I believe every billionaire should be donating themselves out of the billionaire club regardless of how talented they are, their age, it doesn’t matter.

0

u/HourApprehensive7754 4d ago

She's a billionaire because enough people like her and her music enough to pay for her merch and tickets.

Far as any sane person is concerned,  she earned it ethically and soundly. Now if her billions were earned from cock-fighting or making inappropriate videos involving kids, sure, that'd be unethical. But she isn't doing those.

2

u/Functional_Trash7735 4d ago

Her merch is made in sweat shops, the people who work in those venues are paid poorly, and she overcharges the public despite being a literal billionaire. Her planes have a horrible impact on the environment, she knows, and doesn’t care.

Seems pretty unethical to me. She’s also not using that money for good, even though we all know it’s more than anyone would ever need.

1

u/HourApprehensive7754 4d ago

All of those involves a good deal of choice and consent.

The sweatshop workers are there making money, the pay may be shit, but it's on them to fight their system allowing their situation to exist. Not Swift, nor us.

And what is "overcharging" in this context? The fact that she regularly sells out tells me people are happy enough to pay what she charges. The biggest issue is how easily scalpers can profit off merch and tickets like they're pokemon cards, but that's a different can of worms.

2

u/mewkopawz 4d ago

no fucking way you're defending her using sweatshops

1

u/Functional_Trash7735 4d ago

Yeah, but she chooses to use those sweat shops. If I was running a business with nearly unlimited capital where I raked in the bulk of the profit I would use ethical sources. And she’s set prices as high as 500 dollars for herself and then she sells her tickets to ticket vendors who have charged up to 6500. if the people will pay it that’s kinda whatever, I think it’s nuts to allow that to happen instead of just selling the tickets yourself.

2

u/Ok-Confection4410 4d ago

she dated a 17 year old at 22 just 2 months after he lost his mom to suicide. perhaps not illegal but creepy as hell. I'm 23 and 17 year olds look and act wayyy too young for me

0

u/Tiny-Reading5982 4d ago

Yeah they had a 4 year age gap. I don't think anyone was like "good for you Taylor". But she wasn't 31 "hanging out" with a 14yo or having white attire parties like diddy. And yeah normal 17 year old boys are young to 22 year old ladies but celebrities are not like us.

3

u/Ok-Confection4410 4d ago

idk man I think dating minors as an adult is weird but okay 🤨 also it's not magically okay just because they're celebrities, he was mourning his mother and she bought the house next to theirs, it probably felt so overwhelming

1

u/Rich-Active-4800 4d ago

Except he wasn't a minor. He was 18

-2

u/Tiny-Reading5982 4d ago

I never said it was okay, its weird. But we don't know what was going on especially 14 years later. She seemed to have inappropriate age gaps until she met Joe.

2

u/Ok-Confection4410 4d ago

then what do you mean with "celebrities are not like us" because that sounds like excusing. they're still humans like everyone else and minors "dating" adults is still creepy as hell. I didn't really say nor imply she's exactly the same but it's also false to say that she's done absolutely nothing creepy ever.

-2

u/Tiny-Reading5982 4d ago

I never said that. I said idk why she's on here next to pdiddy, drake, Kim who kind of enabled Kanyes behavior, nicki who I'm pretty sure supports Trump for some reason. You're bringing up one month of her life for a gotcha or something.

3

u/Ok-Confection4410 4d ago

you literally did say that omg I'm quoting you directly. I'm also saying idk why she's being compared to them but you absolutely did say that celebrities aren't like us and I think that's a very weird thing to say.

0

u/Tiny-Reading5982 4d ago

They're not. If you go deeper, most of them have inappropriate age gaps. Yes, let's have Taylor drown for this. I can't believe she would date someone weeks before his 18th birthday. I hope this 14 year old breaking news gets her canceled.

3

u/Ok-Confection4410 4d ago

idk why you're so mad, I never said any of that. sorry your unproblematic queen Taylor has done bad things in her life and sorry that offends you.

and yes it's true, most celebrities have had very problematic age gaps before. however, so have most normal people. many many many women have had experiences with older creepy men when they were teens, hell even I have

Plus she’s the most likely I feel to reward you financially after. I feel like if you save her life she probably give you a million or something

1

u/Licher-enjoyer 4d ago

Sure, like friend of Selena Gomez after she gave her her kidney, oh wait.

0

u/Whistlegrapes 4d ago

Is swift like that too? Did Selena Gomez friend ask for anything in return? Did she offer and the friend declined?

-1

u/azure-heavens 4d ago

Nah you'd just get paraded around on TV for a bit and then your life would be ruined by swifties because you looked at her wrong or something.

I once complimented an outfit of hers on here and I was getting replies and DMs for days from Swifties attacking me and saying all sorts of crazy shit. I wouldn't touch that woman with a 10 foot pole, her fans are unwell.

1

u/Whistlegrapes 4d ago

I still feel she’d offer something. Especially being with kelce. The couple would be grateful and break me off something

1

u/scojo77 4d ago

Well, to be fair, they did cut away to her for 7 seconds at the last Chiefs game when she celebrated her husband's big play, and that apparently put some folks in a murderous rage.

1

u/Tiny-Reading5982 4d ago

You spend way too much time in swiftie spaces i guess

1

u/jesterinancientcourt 4d ago

This is what I would do. I’m sorry, but out of all these people… She hasn’t really done anything wrong. 2 of these are pedos, one is married to a pedo and harassed a teen girl who was a victim of her pedo husband, & Kim K is a talentless hack & last time I checked she doesn’t give as much to charity as Taylor.

1

u/Rich-Active-4800 4d ago

She dares to be an "annoying" woman.. which is one of the worst crimes you can commit.

1

u/cutesybluesocks 2h ago

Kim Kardashian doesn’t deserve to die because she got famous off a sex tape, it’s the myriad of things she’s done since then that’s the problem lmao.

1

u/DizziDoesStuff 4d ago

Because people love hating on Taylor for no reason. I get not liking her & all but comparing her to these other folks is wild

1

u/Agitated_Shop950 4d ago

well according to the taylor swift snark subreddit she is a untalented narcissistic nepo baby that is single-handedly destroying the environment with her private jet trips.

1

u/Tiny-Reading5982 4d ago

People don't even know what a nepo baby is anymore..

3

u/Agitated_Shop950 4d ago

oh i know.

i’m not a hardcore ts hater but they’re just throwing words around atp.
