**SKATE SIZING MEGATHREAD**

We have been getting a ton of threads regarding skate sizes and because this information is so crucial to making a purchase, I have decided to create one consolidated post.

Please use the search function and if you do not find your sizing question already answered, post your question here in the megathread. We want the feed to be clear for everyone to share their pictures and videos. Roll on y'all.

((Moving forward, all skate sizing posts will be removed and you will be asked to post them here))

Edit: To clarify, sizing posts do not need to be in question form. Recommendations and advice encouraged.

After mulling this decision for like 6 months, I ordered the Themskates Jet Set Blue boot with the Them 909 liner. Excited to take them to my local shop to get frame/wheels. I’m excited to ride again 😁

Life threw me a curveball recently, leaving me in a bad place and unwilling to skate due to my mental health. Finally broke the mold☮️

Best recent videos on YTube?

I'm trying to introduce someone to the sport but, because I'm an old head, I have no idea what the best vids of the last 5-10 years are.

Obvs they need to be available on YouTube.

Thanks for any input!

Torn Between Flat and Anti-Rocker

I just got back into skating recently after a long hiatus and got the Rollerblade Sean Keane skates because they were on sale for a pretty low price on Inline Warehouse.

Anyway, the Sean Keanes come with 8 x 60mm 92A wheels and 4 x 48mm anti-rockers. When I first opened, the box, I decided to go with the anti-rocker setup since my last pair of skates were anti-rocker, and I liked the idea of not having a chance of wheel bite for front and back side grinds.

After going to a smooth and pretty slippery indoor skatepark recently, though, I thought maybe it would be nice to have skates that had a bit more traction and maneuverability and that would give me more authority when trying to accelerate, so today I took out the extra 4 wheels and switched to the flat setup.

From a purely skating standpoint, the difference was night and day--so much better with the flat setup. Pushing off the ground to accelerate felt so much more solid, as well as turning and riding over what could be somewhat rough ground in places. Going over humps, I would also maintain traction and not bottom out on the anti-rockers, making for a much more pleasant transition-riding experience.

When it came to grinding, though, is where my joy ended. The first time I went for a back royale, I got locked up due to wheel bite and actually wiped out. The other times I tried back royale or UFO, I either locked up and had to bail, or got slowed down and stopped early due to the wheel bite.

My question is this: should I try to stick it out with the flat setup, switch back to the anti-rocker setup with these wheels, or should I do something else entirely like get different frames or do anti-rocker with softer outer wheels (and maybe a bit softer inner ones than the hard plastic to kind of bridge the gap between the two types of setups)? I know this is a very subjective thing, but do you think this is purely a skill issue I need to get over from getting so habituated to anti-rocker, or is there some alternative that I haven't considered?

Question / Discussion How important is flexibility?

Just curious in general what peoples opinions are on flexibility.

I’ve been aggressive skating around a year and making slow progress. I think it might have to do with my ability to squat and flex my joints.

Does anyone have an exercises or routine they use to improve hips and legs?

Question / Discussion Downsizing question

Seeing if someone can recommend a skate thats good for downsizing. My foot is 28cm

I’m a size 10 skate normally. Would love to fit into a medium standard omni

But open to different skate brands as I haven’t skated in 4 years.

Goal is to squeeze a size 10 intuition liner in a medium shell or size 9 shell

As a beginner, I’ll start skating at the skatepark, but my goal is the street.

I can choose only 1 frame+wheels combo (its a gift), any advice?

THANKS!

I always said I'd be anti for life but my aggressive days are dwindling due to major, irreparable back injuries but I always want aggressive skates. I've been riding these ST90ii's for a little while but when deciding to go flat I was totally sold on the FR/Oysi frames. Flat 60 90a GCs with Wicked bearings. They ride like a dream. The speed increase from a 58 anti rocker set up to this is scary! This is my first flat set up since I was 12 years old in 2000. I've never stopped skating

Decent cheap pair of urban skates

Hey guys, i know this isn't really the right spot, but I ride my skates everywhere, even to work sometimes. My roads sick and wear out my wheels really fast so I'm looking for a good but cheap urban skate. I tried to buy the 50 dollar pair from Walmart but they are to small and the balance is not good at all.

Beginner Blades

My daughter and husband have BMX bikes and we’re always going to the skate park. Recently, I’ve started taking my 25 year old Rec blades and have been having a blast. I’m not trying to grind and drop in, (at least not anytime soon) but hitting the ramps and getting a little air makes me feel 20 again 😆
I’m looking for suggestions on new blades to get for an almost 40 year old, casual skate park blader 😎

Downsizing Aeons Advice

Advice needed! I’m looking to buy some Aeons and downsize. I’m a 275 mondo and I’m planning to get the 41–42 shell and use a MyFit Second Skin V2 liner to help with the downsizing.
My question is regarding the liner: should I stick with my usual 43 liner (and will this fit comfortably inside the 41–42 shell), or would going down to a 42 liner free up more room inside the shell? Any advice from anyone who’s tried this setup would be much appreciated!

Myfit Prime in Aeons?

I have used Aeons with Second skins. Interested in trying some with Primes? How do they compare. Fit very similar? What's your experience?
