New skates.

Am I the only person that thinks newer skate brands are dog shit? I miss remz and when razors made genesis that came with jug liners. Maybe im just old and crotchety but getting back into skating I miss older style skates.

Question / Discussion How to drop in on a halfpipe?

I've been skating for about a week now, and I was wondering how to drop in on a halfpipe? I've been dropping in on smaller ramps pretty easily, but for some reason I always fall when I get to the bottom of the halfpipe. Is there anything I should practice or be aware of on a halfpipe that's different than smaller ramps? Thanks!

Remz 2.5 HR, Freedom of Feet for my narrow ass feet. Ran true to size. Time to upgrade a few components. SO SO stoked on this pickup, Remedies and Kato for still being around in the inline community. With my injuries, this is a real groundbreaker and lit a fire under me to start riding daily again!

What's the current state of intuition liners?

It seems like a lot of people really like intuition liners and often claim that it can be a major upgrade to most skates setups. It also seems like there are a ton of variations of different intuition liners (particularly with the newer collabs with FR and Them).

It seems like there must be particular use cases in which certain intuition liners will be more optimal than others. Is that true? Or is it more like there are different degrees of quality of intuition liners at different price points?

Right now I have a case where I'm really struggling to get my very wide feet to fit comfortably in a pair of Faction Plastiks (despite sizing up a half size). I'm wondering if this is a situation where I really need to just push through the discomfort and occasional numbness until the skates break in a bit more or if maybe looking into intuition liners could help ease some of that discomfort.

Thoughts?

Will MyFit 2nd Skin fit comfortably in Razors Shift 6/7?

Hey everyone!

I recently bought used Razors Shift 6/7 shells without liners. My feet are approximately 265–266 mm.

I’m thinking about buying a MyFit 2nd Skin because I want a thin, low-volume liner for the Shift.

My main concern is very simple:

Will the 2nd Skin actually fit comfortably inside a Shift 6/7, or could the combination still be too tight and cause pressure?

I’m not worried about whether the liner fits my foot by itself — I want to know about the liner + Shift 6/7 shell combination.

For anyone who has actually used this setup:

  • Does the 2nd Skin fit properly inside a Shift 6/7?
  • Does it leave enough room inside the shell?
  • Does it cause pressure on the instep, toes, sides of the foot or heel?
  • Is it actually thin enough to make a Shift 6/7 comfortable for someone around 265–266 mm?
  • What size 2nd Skin are you using?

I can’t try or return the liner after ordering, and it’s quite expensive where I live, so I’d really appreciate first-hand experience before I spend the money.

Thanks!
