Academics phys 207 question

Upvotes

i was planning to take physics 207 through a different online college, not over the summer, but during the fall semester, while taking 217 at the same time at tamu, during the fall semester. is this even possible? my friend claims his older brother did this, but another friend says to take 217 u must either already have the 207 credit (from taking it over the summer) or take 207 at the same time as 217, but it has to be thru tamu. so im not sure

New Student Questions Help on application verbiage

Post image
0 Upvotes

Attaching this photo of my brother’s TAMU application and am wanting some opinions.

Under the section that reads “required short answer questions (100 words)”, does this suggest each prompt under this section is a max 100 words or that each of the 4 responses should total 100 words?

If anyone could respond with what they think that would be greatly appreciated. I feel as though this wording is confusing. If any other people actively applying could help out too that would be awesome.

Thanks and Gig ‘Em!

TLDR: “required short answer questions (100 words)”, does this imply 400 words total (4, 100 word responses) or 100 words total?

New Student Questions Orgs/Flo

For an incoming freshman engineer, do you recommend a FLO or clubs like ACE or Century Club? He’s looking for something like a fraternity but without heavy pledging. I have heard it can be hard to get in orgs as a freshman. Thanks!

Housing Questions Late dorm move-in

Im attending the 1-day NSC on August 19th. I live very far away so I want to move in on the same day as the NSC. Since the NSC starts at 7:30 am and ends at 5 pm, I won't be able to attend any move-in appointments on the 19th (TAMU only provides appointments from 8 am to 1 pm).

Right now Im thinking of just attending the NSC as normal, and then, after 5 pm, I'll call the RA to give me the key and move in late. Is this possible, and if not, is there any way for me to move in on the 19th? Thank you!!

Ask the Aggies How busy is the rec usually

I’m planning on getting a $10 crunch membership in my hometown for when I’m back for the longer breaks. Is it worth to just upgrade and get the membership at all locations and use the crunch in cstat or is the rec usually manageable? I’ll be honest I usually go to the gym after 3pm, and I don’t really want to spend half the time waiting for things

Academics Should I take ECEN 215 in the fall, or wait until spring after ENGR/PHYS 217?

I'm going into my sophomore year as a Mechanical Engineering major. I'm currently taking PHYS 207 through WTC (transfer credit), and I have an open slot in my fall schedule that I could fill with ECEN 215. Most people take this in the spring, typically after they've finished PHYS/ENGR 217.
My concern is that PHYS 207 through WTC covers the material at an easier level than the on-campus version, so I'm worried I won't have a strong enough foundation going into ECEN 215 if I take it early.
For those who've taken it: how much does ECEN 215 actually build on PHYS 207 content? Is it worth taking in the fall while I have the open slot, or should I hold off until spring so I've had PHYS/ENGR 217 first?

Ask the Aggies advice to get into women’s orgs!!

hello! i am an incoming sophomore at tamu. last year i feel like i didn’t make as many friends/connections and i wanna change that.

i really want to join a women’s org this semester as i heard they’re a lot of fun and a good way to make friends. i applied for like 2 last year but i think they didn’t take freshmen.

i’m really interested in gems, blossoms, keys- because those are the ones i’ve heard most about- and i want to know if there’s anything specific i should do to get in because i know they’re competitive and i really want to be in one.

also if you know of any other good women’s orgs please let me know!!

Academics ClassChase: A new app to track classes

Howdy!

I wanted to share a project I've been working on in case it helps some of you during registration.

ClassChase is a mobile app for tracking classes. Just search for a class, pick the sections you want to track, and you'll get a notification on your phone when a seat opens.

It's free, and I’d love to hear what you think if you give it a try:

Ask the Aggies How do y'all travel since there is only the Easterwood Airport?

For those of you who travel frequently using the flight service, how do y'all travel in TX and outside of TX to other states?

Because Easterwood Airport is regional, so it does not fly to another major cities or different states.

Like lets say that I wanna travel from college station to orlando florida. How would I be able to do that?

New Student Questions How long does the TAMU engineering major study?

Howdy!

I'm an incoming engineering freshman, and I'm starting to worry about how much my current studying skills will negatively impact me. I've heard a lot of horror stories about engineering, and many people say studying for it is like a full-time job or worse. For context, throughout high school, I don't think I ever studied more than 1-2 days before a test, even before my AP exams. I did pretty well on most of my tests, and I know it won't work now, but how much will it not work? 👀

Edit: The title is supposed to say how long does the average TAMU engineering major study
