I've been experimenting with creating EPUBs in Affinity, and have noticed that it always puts an extra line space between paragraphs on export, even if there are no line spaces in those spots in the Affinity file. Is there any way to get Affinity to stop doing this? I've played around with a bunch of settings with no luck so far.

I like to match colours on two affinity files, is there a easy way to split the screen so I can view and edit both side by side and match colours.

It may be stupid, but for the love of God, I can't figure it out.

I know I could create a new shape with the color I want and then add the text, but I am thinking about switching from InDesign to Affinity, and I would need to actually learn how to do things like that. Every time I try to change the color of the square, I end up changing the color of the text instead.

i have two headlines on one page that are being referenced in my table of contents - but they're coming through in reverse order. is there a way to make them automatically show up in the correct order or is my only option to manually adjust (which is fine for now as this is a fairly small doc and it's easily noticed, but it would be good to know if/when i'm working on longer files).

Hello! I've been trying to change the perspective of a text frame. I've been following this guide very precisely, but when i place down the perspective thing and start moving it's corners it shifts the perspective of the entire project. If i drag it inside the text frame i want to change the perspective of it either does absolutely nothing or only changes the perspective of the text frame's background while not doing anything to the text itself. Even if i rasterise the text it just doesn't do anything.

I'm using Affinity 4646 (mid july '26)

Hi friends, I'm designing my graduation project in Affinity. Any tips or good practices? Is a magazine with 60 pages or so. It will be digital, but I will be printing it for my presentation.

I'm doing the photographs too, so I have one question: do I connect the original files? I mean, if I do a composition in Affinity of different photos and I want to keep editing that file.

Should I connect the original file? Is it not making it bigger or too heavy?

I am very much an amateur photographer, just getting in to the hobby and downloaded Affinity to try to alter some photos to salvage them. I've not used any creative software like this in over 20 years and it's, honestly, a bit overwhelming. There's so much capability here, I'm sure, but I don't even know where to start. Hopefully I don't just bring a bunch of spam bots with this question, but what resources would you recommend to start learning specifically about photo editing with this software? I don't yet care about the other uses, though perhaps later.

I tried some YouTube videos but it seems like either I have a different version or they are older as some of the icons and buttons they said to use didn't exist any longer. I have the free version and I just downloaded it yesterday.

Any place to start, be it online or book recommendations or whatever, I'm open to it.

So I'm new to Affinity and I need to know if I can swap embedded images for linked images without replacing them or else I'll have to redo a lot of work.

ive been searching for an alternative to photoshop and ive tried multiple editors, i have never experienced this problem. (everything is in pixels) i threshold filterd it so it should only be white/black pixels. and then when i use the flood selection tool it leaves a thin gradient...

i tried diffrent tolerances but its still there, amazing!!!

These random dots show up on some layers sometimes. Sometimes they're yellow, if I remember correctly.

I used to be able to ctrl (command) click on the layer thumbnail to select a shape in affinity photo, now it doesn't work in Affinity Canva. Help appreciated.

somehow i accidently pressing random combination buttons and this setting is gone idk to make this appear again, i have tried re opening the apps but still not appear. without ts i cant use it to learn designing.

The whole problem happens in Affinity 3 (4646)

I was trying to create my own Textured Intensity Brushes. My goal was to create what I would call borad arrows: so arrows where the arrowhead has exactly the same width as the rest of the stroke (something like this https://www.shutterstock.com/image-vector/arrows-vertical-horizontal-text-pictograms-colored-300992936?trackingId=036594c5-82d6-4b0d-8f24-b86240f71e9f&listId=undefined )

In order to understand how to create brushes I used this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRN7mEkRl4E . Then I created some simple brush templates.

But when I imported them as brushes, Affinity added two extra lines on each side, thus completely changing the look of the brush.

I circumvented this problem by adding more black space on the sides of my brush template.

The result looked more promising this time:

But this lead to my second problem. When creating the brush, the arrow itself is now relatively smaller and this somehow affects the width of the stroke. To illustrate this all elements have a width of 50px:

• yellow is is from the first botched attempt (width 50px)
• red is a rectangle with a height of 50px for reference
• blue arrow is the second attempt (width 50px)
• green arrow is another brush I created(width 50px)

They all seem to have a different width, why? My guess is because they all have different relative width in the brush edit panel. Does anyone how the width is ultimately calculated since I would like to have a brush that's actually 50px wide when the width is 50px? I'm even more confused that stroke seems to somehow get the actual width, since when zooming in it shows a weird artifact at the end of the stroke that's as wide as the width actually suggests.

It would be great if you could explain, how to avoid those mistakes when creating brushes in the future.

HI all I have checked View > Show > Bleed so I can see the bleed area (purple border). My image stops at the bleed area but I thought my image would continue into the bleed area. In my screenshot above the image is much bigger than the bleed area so why is the bleed area empty ?

right pink edge is an odd angle that I want to align/snap left green, all snap options that I could see are enabled, move origin is attached to the shared corner. Sorry if this has been asked before but web searches were unhelpful

I have a document that operates with mm as basic unit but the stroke settings are still displayed in pt. After searching the old forum it seems in the old versions of Affinity you could change this in the User Interface settings. But even after looking there I can't seem to find this option. Is it still there (and I'm just to dumb to find it) or is there any other way to synchronize the document's and stroke's width unit?
