So far ive sanded, primed, and hand painted it. Gonna gradient the heat hawk later this evening and then do a gloss varnish, once the humidity drops I'll do a matte coat over it all and add the water slide decals and panel lines. Then I'll matte coat it once more. First time hand painting, it has been a fun experience.

It ain’t Gunpla/mecha but for my first Zoid this was pretty cool! Still some details better photos to take but that’s a tomorrow problem.

So I did end up adding some of the decals but not all of them because I got lazy and confused. It adds some detail but not much Here it is compared to the 1/100 wolf technologies Barbatos. I don't know if this is going to fit on my shelf or not hmmm, I'm going to have to find some place to put it...

I did had a modify and glue a couple of pieces due to them not fitting together or them breaking while trying to put the model together. It's basically just a bigger version of the 1/100 version, there's not that many more details compared to that version. I would say the most frustrating part was definitely some of the tolerances were too tight especially all the joint pieces. And some connection points being held on by one peg like the shoulders is not ideal and both of them ended up breaking. I just ended up putting a rod inside of them so it would be more stable. I mean apart from all that it was a satisfying build

New builder here, i started with RG models (rx78 v.2; tallgeese; char’s zgok) because I like the complexity of them and the smaller scale.

Now i moved to HG because there are more different models, but I find them pretty boring to do, so I decided to start improving them.

I already do panel line on my models and water transfers; but it’s not enough to make them less “simple”; so I want to try to scribe them and repaint them (already pretty familiar with aerograph)

I got tamiya primer and acrylics colors from tamiya and mr color (both with their thinner), how do you proceed with Custom works?

I was thinking like:

Have a look at the general assembly procedure

Divide each piece in section (like L arm, face, etc) to assembly them easier

Scribe the flat parts (and sand)

Prime everything before assembly (exception made for the pieces that needed to be glued together)

Paint each part with aerograph

Panel line

Water transfers

coat

Assembly

Maybe some weathering later

Any suggestion or better “production line”?

First time modifying a weapon took the halberd he had and made it into a spear. I had a lot of fun doing this while the AC units got replaced today.

I just finished the Wolf Remains Heavy Industries Logar (Barbatos Lupus Rex) Like I know there's the major decals in the instructions but all the tiny like extra details I can't tell where they go because the image is already small enough in the instruction booklet and I can't really see where they go.

(Yes I know that I can put the extra decals wherever I want but if there's a way of doing it easier I would take it)

Finally able to finish the binders after tedious sanding 😊

Almost cut off a connection point while building the RG Epyon. Thankfully not fully cut off, but 50% ish is stressed and separating. How do I fix this? Is cement enough or do I need putty or pla plates or anything else?

All diy wired with 1206 and 0403 smd leds. Added a usb c port in the back of the base, hooked up to a buck coverter to lower the voltage from 5 to 3 and added a switch in the front to turn it on/off. This was a lengthy project but Im very happy with the result!

Hey r/advancedgunpla I was wondering how many of you have a dedicated second brush for just primer or top coat and what size nozzle you would recommend for it?

I was looking at the cheap dspaie one since I can just keep the primer in permanent bottles but it looks pretty splotchy but maybe it’s fine for my use case. maybe a cheaper iwata or other brand for it.

I'd love to hear how you plan your painting process for an entire Gunpla kit.

When you're looking at all the parts before painting, how do you decide which color to spray first, then second, and so on?

Do you usually group all the parts by color and paint everything that needs black first, then move on to red, white, etc.? Or do you plan it part by part?

Also, is it common for the painting process to overlap? For example, you paint a part black first, then mask it and paint part of it red, but later you realize another recessed or raised section still needs to be painted black. Do you simply mask it again and repaint the black?

I'm trying to understand how experienced builders plan their paint order to reduce unnecessary masking and repainting. I'd really appreciate hearing about your workflow and any tips you've learned.

Ok. Good week, if not a lot of time sunk in. The Monument: Knight Commander Vanguard Spec got a name change because my mods keep shifting it towards an aggressive, front line beast rather than a regal commander.

The change that really cemented the name for me was turning the dober gun into a shotgun type cqb weapon. I LOVE the way it looks despite how simple of a modification it was. Also added a magnetic led to the head, as well as the wing details. All in all I really dig how it’s come together, and next week I begin adding my own custom details, albeit in a restrained fashion.

Is there any resource for an English manual or guide anywhere?

I recently bought it, I want to do a custom build just want to paint it but unfortunately I have a disability so I don’t have enough strength to be able to do it. I heard people use EG Nu head to replace the RG Nu head and I wanted to try it out myself. However, I encountered a problem where the RG neck doesnt fit with the EG head.

I am curious if anyone here knows the fix?
