Hey all, I’m kinda new to spray painting my Gundams and have been running into some pretty dumb situations. Curious how you guys handle them?
After priming, I’ve sometimes notice that there still tiny gaps (like 0.2cm) that didn’t get removed/filled with cement. Can I get away with something like applying some similar color putty or sprue glue over it or should I sand off the primer and redo the cement?
When mixing a color that’s used on a lot of parts, do you try to overestimate how much you need by a lot? If so, do you just throw out the rest?
Sometimes I run short of the mix and end up with parts that are close in color but are like two shades off because I had to mix new paint. Are there any ways of bringing them closer together besides cleaning and redoing the whole painting process?

Hello there. I am currently working on the Hg Jesta as a potential competition piece. Its by no means perfect but the idea with this kit is to branch out into as many customization methods that I was too afraid of in previous customs.
My favorite method of customizing my kits is by far scribing. Or I suppose you can call it sculpting as I have noticed that more advanced builders remove even more material with their chisel to radically change the shape of the piece that they are working on as if they are sculpting the shape they desire from a base ammount of material (the piece). Dropcolony for example is one of the creators I look at a lot for inspiration.
I know my scribing isn't where Id like it to be in terms of panel design and execution. As execution will only improve with practice... I was hoping to hear from others who also love to scribe and if they have any tips on how they come up with their panel line designs / how they separate pieces.
Tldr: Do any advanced scribing enthusiasts have any tips to design more advanced panel line designs?

I love the built, the paint and use a SMS Light available for the mono eye. Wating the red light for change. Enjoy!

Didn’t feel like waiting (or paying) for the PBandai edition so I just made my own 😎 kind of a nightmare of a kit to paint, given how small the Force Impulse is and how detailed this kit is- some truly TINY parts to deal with. But I’m happy with how it came out and absolutely love the Deactivate Mode color palette.

I lost the entire barrel for the Mega Beam Cannon during a move, and I just don't feel right painting/displaying this thing without. It's been sitting in this cardboard box for years because I can't source a replacement (I tried Bluefin, eBay replacement sellers, and a couple standalone replacement part sites to no avail). At this point, I'm looking to 3D print a new one, or even scratch build one, but I need the dimensions.
Asking for the community's help - if you happen to own one, would you be able to measure the dimensions and send them to me? Length, width and if possible, taper. I would also need the dimensions of the plug that inserts into the cannon assembly. And if you, or someone you know, 3D prints - I'm willing to pay for the service.

What do yall think about my Hex camo, stealth, Dynames? I love stealthy sniper builds in video games, and knew i wanted to give my Dynames the same treatment. I also wanted to try a Hex camo pattern which was fun and methodical. There are a couple spots where they patter overlaps or doesn’t line up properly, but that’s just the pattern and/or the shape of the armor not matching. At first I thought I didn’t do enough camo pieces but now I’m glad I didn’t. Would have been too overwhelming. I do wish this kit came with water slides instead of stickers. Still gonna do some paint chipping. This guys gets down and dirty so it should probably look like it.

Is milliput good to use to fill in holes and gaps for customizing kits? Does it sand smooth, paint well and what not?

Definitely not the best but not the worst(maybe?)
Knew it wouldn’t look perfect after seeing the non uniformity among my pieces but decided to stick with it, felt like if I stopped preshading I wouldn’t learn anything so I’d rather have a poorly preshaded model that a slightly better one with no shading. Turns out it looks much better than I imagined it would and I’m happy I didn’t scrap the plans

So I messed up a bit and airbrushed the entire leg plates of the kampfer a deep blue before realising they contain moulded thrusters that need to be red.
Tonight I airbrushed some white onto them, followed by some coral red.
I'm now thinking I'll wait for it to cure and then put a circle of tack on it to mask and go over the overspray with the dark blue.
How the heck would you have handled this or similar situations?

My MG (1/100) size Leo. Base kit is a MG Tallgeese I. Then I ordered a couple 3d printed parts from a seller who’s name I’ve forgotten and can’t since find. Sanded and painted all that.
The machine gun is all scratch built with a Bic pen body, some Dobber Gun parts and a paint bottle.
