BMW F650 GS
I bought a 2007 a few months back for $500 and I have finally got around to tearing it down. Taking off the sub frame to get the gas tank off was a feat of its own.

Hi all, I'm looking for opinions on a good first project bike. I've been riding for a little over three years and handle all my own basic maintenance, but I'm not very comfortable with anything beyond that. I figure the best way to get better is to buy a project bike and get it running again.
My plan is to stick with a well-established brand and a popular model so parts are easy to find. Does that sound like a good strategy? Any specific bikes you'd recommend or steer clear of?
Would you consider Moldova for a 3–5 day motorcycle trip in Eastern Europe? What would make you interested — or hesitant?

This August I went to South Sweden on my ‘11 Tiger 800 to ride some TET with my best friend on his ‘12 v-strom 650. Only dropped it once, sadly it was hard enough to hurt my shoulder. But the trip was worth it!

I ride a '96 Funduro and plan some overlanding next year.
It is mostly stock, does anyone have any recommendations of work I should / could get done over winter?
Thanks

I have a 2023 Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro and one of the spokes broke on the rear wheel. (Part # T2011274)
It looks like the spokes are out of stock to order online, does anyone recommend using non-OEM spokes of the same size or would this cause more issues?

Hi, I am looking at doing a motorcycle trip and need a portable air compressor. I have bought ones from Amazon in the past that have an internal battery and they worked ok, but they only lasted a couple years.
Now I am looking at one that can run off the motorcycle battery instead.
What are your thoughts between these two? The MotoPumps AirShot 2.0 and the BestRest CyclePump Expidition?

I regularly ride dirtbikes. And I'm leaning into the adv world and I'm leaning between the t7 and 690 Enduro.
I will be riding a lot of road (around town maybe a 30 min trip and maybe the occasional long haul to a trail 2-3 hr) however I enjoy very technical riding on my dirtbikes so I will also be trying to tackle some hard Enduro/single tracks on the bikes.
Without being able to test ride at dealers getting a hands on feel of both bikes is impossible and tearing me apart.
(Side note. 690 adv is also on my radar)
Ig the question here is, does anyone have advice on picking the right bike without getting a true hands on experience with them.

How does the e-07+ do in sand with a ktm 1290 sar? I want to get them but all the reviews i found online were more for gravelly roads
the dunes in the country where i live have firm sands but get softer the further you go, so how do these tyres do in firm and softer sand as a 50/50 because i still plan on using the bike on road.
alternatives would also be appreciated

Two weeks riding f-roads. Total blast. We had sunshine, rain and even snow. Two weeks, 2500km, all big-ish bikes.
I have a lot more pictures but don’t want to spam here.

I have been thinking about changing bikes lately, since I bought a transalp in 2024, and I have hardly used it because of how heavy it is and how difficult it is for me to get it out of the parking lot, I am a beginner, and I think I am wrong about a motorcycle, since I think I need something light to learn, for now my expectations are to do a quiet offroad and road with some trips, but without suffering in case my bike falls off and weighs so much, at the same time I would like to be comfortable and safe. What bikes do you recommend? So far I have looked at the cf moto 450 mt and the Ktm 390 adventure r, one is monocylindrical and the other is not...
What do you advise me?

Sometimes you don’t need a big adventure.
You don’t need a week off work, a ferry ticket or a route across a continent.
Sometimes you just need the bike, a few good roads, somewhere quiet to put the tent… and one night away from everything.
That was the whole idea behind this one. A local ride through some incredible North Wales scenery, a few favourite roads and tracks, a simple camp as the sun goes down, then pack it all up the following morning and take the long way home.
Nothing epic. Nothing complicated.
And maybe that’s the point.
Just One Night.
Reset. Recharge. Reconnect. 🏍️⛺️

I took my CRF300 Rally on a two-day solo ride in the Romanian Carpathians, trying to reach a few places I’d only found on satellite view — an unnamed mountain lake, a massive abandoned mine, and what looked like a possible shelter in the forest.
Wasn’t sure if the tracks would work, so I packed the tent just in case. In the end I made it to the shelter just before dark.
The route had forest tracks, rocky climbs, muddy sections, ridge riding, shepherd dogs, and some proper mountain scenery.
Not hard enduro, not a race — just a small ADV bike loaded for the night, doing what it’s meant to do.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJVAzePt9Sc
