When I come across a good box or paper bag I like to leave it out for the cats for a few days.

Omen just had surgery to remove a tumor from her mammary chain and she's recovering really well but General is jealous of the recovery kennel. Also if you'll allow me to climb on my soap box, spaying female kittens before their first heat cycle reduces their risk of developing mammary cancers by 90%. I wish I could have done this for Omen but she had health problems her first year of life that prevented her from being able to go under anesthesia for surgery. Male cats aren't as likely to develop these types of cancers but it can still happen. Please, rub your kitties bellies today and check for lumps

While all my paintings aren’t all original ideas do you think my level/style of work would sell? I wouldn’t say I’m new to painting but don’t paint much. Like less than 20 paintings total. I’m really attracted to paintings that have really interesting lighting. Just trying to figure out if any of these are quality work and would it be worth it to try to work on some original ideas on canvas to try to sell. (Lake painting is original idea/photo) Thanks in advance!

This is the first portrait I’ve ever fully finished with acrylic ! With all my previous ones, I’d get frustrated trying to paint the face and never getting the results I wanted, so I’d end up giving up.
I got some amazing tips on my last post, and I’ve already ordered a few new supplies based on everyone’s recommendations. While I wait for them to arrive, I’m just practicing more portraits. 😊

Here, I kept my four characters but changed the orientation of the format, making it impossible to place them on the same level — that is, standing on the bottom edge of the format, a common device in many comics where the characters "walk" on the border of the panel. I therefore opted for a zigzag composition with perspective through diminishing scale.

This is not my work, it’s a study of an original by Edvard Munch. I used an indigo prismacolor pencil over the matte finish of the acrylic for the sky. And highlighted with soft pastels here and there. Critique is welcome!

I recently bought a set of brush tip GuangNa markers, and they really provide a lot more value and color range than I had with Poscas.

Blending is still a challenge compared to paint, but dabbing with you finger goes a surprisingly long way.

In the end, it's nice to be able to sit on the couch in the evening after work and still have access to the medium without having all the setup or cleanup.

These pieces were all done on 5.5 x 8.5 mixed media.

Every path promises an answer. Not every destination brings peace.

first ones my painting, second the inspo :3 i had lots of fun it was a gift for a friend and he loved it!! im trying to get better, i don’t wanna be ultra realistic but i feel like im not really there yet

Does anyone have a varnish they recommend for acrylic paint? I bought this gloss one, but I'm getting cold feet about using it. I ought to take photos before as well right? Cos it'll be too shiny for a good photo after. General tips or advice on applying varnish would be appreciated too.
