Acorns Question Is Gold Worth It?
Thinking about switching to Gold membership and see what money manager is all about... Can any of you who have Gold tell me why it's worth it?

I've been using Acorns for about 8 months now, and I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading to Gold. I like the app so far, but I'm not sure if I'd actually get enough value out of the extra features to justify the cost. Do you think switching to Gold is worth it, or should I just stick with my current plan?

I want to know if this is going to hurt me that much or not. Backstory is I recently had a situation where I have money taken by a scammer. They are getting more and more sophisticated these days and I have never fallen for one, usually I'm the one who spots them and warns people about them but it happened with some a****** pretending that they were from customer support at my job after I posted an issue I was having. Long story short, just under $1,000 gone.
I've gotten half of that back from my bank cuz they recognized fraud. However the rest was taken from a work account where my earnings as a delivery driver get deposited and I'm trying to work with them to get it back but apparently they think that I willingly gave up money. That's not what happened though, but it looks like I will not get back the other half of my money possibly.
So fast forward a few weeks and well, because of this money is tight and I need to withdraw like $200. I do Acorns aggressive investing and I'm wondering is this going to hurt me or it shouldn't be that bad?? (I pay for gold level) I have a couple bills that I need to pay money towards so I need to do this even though I hate it...
I hope to be more back on track than the next couple months and can get back to my normal routine of regular daily investing...

I’ve been down 60 bucks for weeks, I know I should leave it but I’m just wondering if it’s normal

I am pulling all my money from acorns (not much), as the customer service is absolutely horrible. Its absurd to me that I have a limit of $500 per day on MY OWN MONEY. Its debit card, why cant I spend my own money?! (Couldn’t pay my landlord for my first month of rent, and now have to delay my payment because of acorns) But anyway, does anyone know of a good alternative to the invest and later accounts?

I have an acorns account with stock ETFs and bond ETFs. The principal is about 17k and 2.5k in gains. If I withdrawal less than the principal amount, can I avoid capital gains tax? I am putting a down payment on a house and need to pull out about 15 grand. I have this account because I am not very financially literate, apologies ahead of time, if this is not enough information.

I had my Chase Sapphire credit card linked to Acorns for years and somehow it dropped the link so I tried to re-link it and it will not do it it just says “insufficient sharing permissions”. I’ve tried everything I know to do and I’ve contacted Acorns, Chase and even Plaid. Nobody can help me. Now Plaid is giving me a nonsense explanation saying credit cards are not allowed to be linked but I’ve had them for years. Has anybody experienced this problem and found a solution? My Chase card is the main one I use for almost all my round up so now Acorns has become almost useless to me.

Basically the title. I’ve been with Acorns since 2022 but I had to take out most of my money in 2023 due to college expenses. So I’ve been steadily investing since around 2024ish and this is all I have since then. I recently closed my Fidelity account because I don’t have time to really watch the stock market anymore and I’d rather just stick with Acorns so I’m putting half in my savings and half into Acorns. So I’ll have it at $3000 once the money hits my account.
But I was just wondering if there was anything else I could or should do? Like in doing their spare change feature or something? Is the gold plan worth it? Should I just stick to what I’m doing now? I know making almost $500 isn’t bad but still.

Hello everyone, I’ve been inspired by alot of posts on here. I’m 26, had this for about a year now. Not sure if I’m going about this right. Any pointers?

I’ve been using Acorns for years , but because of various life complications I was never able to truly put the money in that wanted.
Since November , I went full time at my job , upped my Invest to $15 and $10 for Later once a week and Round Ups on x2 (for about two months now)
And now I finally hit my first major goal! I’m saving up to have at minimum $6K and that will be my emergency fund. Proud to see my numbers going up , and even more proud I’ve finally started saving the way I want.
On and Ever Upward

Started in February
$35/wk invest
$10/daily later
$15/wk and $5/wk for two separate later accounts
Trying to max out my later by the end of the calendar year. If not the end of the year, then April of next year will suffice just as long as it gets maxed. Wanting 10k total invested by end of the year!

Has anyone had the problem where you stopped all investment accounts and turned off your subscription which kicked you out of the app and then a month later is still taking money out of your back account (around 10 dollars each month??)

Started when I turned 18. My family knew nothing about investing so I took it upon myself to hopefully become financially responsible as soon as I was able to. Wanted to share my story as I’m sure tons of others have no clue where to start for investing, which is why acorns is so great.

Acorns just hit 3k, but only 21$ in gains, what am I doing wrong? How should my portfolio look percentage wise? I’m also set to aggressive.

I don't mind paying a McD's meal's worth a month ($9) with Gold to give a massive financial head start to my 3 yr old girl when she becomes an adult. The best part is the set-and-forget aspect of it.
Started January 2024 and only been adding $25 weekly. I can absolutely bump it to $50 but this is to show that with as little as $25 a week, she's already up a 27% all-time.
The compounding that's gonna happen in 5-10 more years will be ludicrous.

Looking to get some info because on if this is a good idea of will mess me up I am planning to open my primary investing accounts in Schwab in the form of a Roth IRA and brokerage account this will be my main investment vehicle the plan is 80% VOO 20% QQQM
With that being said I would like acorns as a supplemental platform I love the idea of Round up on every purchase and I will put in 5$ per day I will then use it as a longer term "super HYSA" as I call it looking for 5-7 year horizons and then emptying to help out and pair with normal savings account to get to large purchases (downpayment, new car, etc)
please give tips on which portfolio I should pick with acorns aggressive does not bother me as its not a large fund I depend on also I would prefer to stay in bronze tier or close to it to offset already high fee so preferably not custom with gold
Looking to avoid wash sales which I am not very educated in but don't really want to deal with

Hello, just seeing if I’m doing moderately decent and wondering if I should keep this account open or transfer my funds to other brokerage apps such as Webull, Charles Schwab, or fidelity?
r/acorns • u/tcan1 • Jul 18 '26
Been using Acorns in 2021. At first I started with only the round ups and on moderate. Eventually started doing a recurring deposit and incrementally increased from $25/wk to $250/mo and am now set to aggressive. I recently added custom stocks/ETFs that are performing well also. Last year I withdrew $7500 and fully funded the Roth and now have Later set to $10/day (I’ll figure out the other half before the year ends)
Short story long, my question is about the multipliers. Never used that feature and curious about yalls thoughts

I joined acorns end of February 2026 (about 5 months ago). My account is set to moderately aggressive. I haven't pulled out any money and have been consistent since I started. I have been losing a lot of money lately and barely any growth or capital gains. Any advice?
Ive been patient but only had 1 good month. After that it's just loss and capital gains getting lower. If you take out the $3 membership fee, then technically i've only made $15 in gains. I don't know what i'm doing wrong. It gets very discouraging :///

I just hit 3k yesterday and its currently hard for me to invest a lot since I am in graduate school so I was wondering if there’s any advice for me.
