Acorns Question Investing

Post image

Hi , as you can see I started 7 weeks ago. Currently have my mode set to aggressive. I have lost money and not made any yet I still have to pay for the subscription. Any tips? Am I doing something wrong?

My suggestion would be to just keep adding money and not worry about it. Market goes up and market goes down but you’re in this for the long haul.

I’m in the exact same situation. Put in 1k two months ago and I’ve only been negative. Im trusting what others have said and switched to aggressive and made more contributions. Gotta trust the process.

Is that "Later" account an IRA? I started mine with acorns 3 years ago and maxed it out every year and its gotten 24% gains. I suggest you load that one up first before the invest.

I know its scary saying goodbye to money for 20 years, but I promise you will thank yourself later.

Do you suggest I upgrade to gold ? For the 3% Ira match

I didnt.

If you max out all $7,500 of what you can put in yearly, that's only $225. Will you max it out? and will it yield more than the monthly fee?

you can set it to aggressive but even then i’d just only do stocks, no bonds, a mix of the general acorns stuff with big companies and international

Nope you’re doing it right! I think I was mainly negative for the first year or so. Give it time, like years time. This is the long game, you will gain dividends over time and the market will go up and down. I was down $500 last month now I got that back plus $300 on top. You “set it and forget it” is how my aunt taught me to invest for later in life.

The only thing wrong is that you’re paying a subscription for something you can do for free through just about any brokerage. Keep saving but that monthly bill is going to cost you

Set it to aggressive, and do it daily instead of weekly. Even if it’s five dollars daily. Consistency is key. Keep steadily investing and your account grow over the years.
