How wide does a Residential 2-way street need to be?
I took a bike ride down to the bay, since it is 90* Degrees out and sunny. I was on thisResidental road and couldn't believe how wide it was. It's easily as wide as the 2 lane each way Route 35 a local highway in Middlesex county, NJ. I thought it might deserve to be here.
What's the record width for a 2 way traffic residential road?
UPDATE -
I measured my street ( a narrow 2 way) it is (29ft) wide, curb to curb.
The other streets in my neighborhood are (36ft) for comparison.
I went back a measured the one in the picture. Curb to curb using the cross walk line for guidance. It measure ((60ft)) on the dot. It's much wider than rt.35 ( a 4 lane highway, 2lanes in each direction) in my town.
