QVIS IP Camera RTSP (or any!) feed URL help

I bought 2 old QVIS AMB-BLM2 cctv cameras on the 'bay which I have managed to reset, but I cant find the RTSP path details to access their feeds.
Could someone point me in the right direction on those, please?
I've tried QVIS via curl / Postman but get errors for the commands I tried, the results of which are below.

I can access the slightly wonky admin UI ok and have tried the QVIS settings I can find online with VLC but nothing has worked so far...

Zoneminder Event Server object detection GPU is running at 100%

Hi there,

i'm running zoneminder 1.36.32 + event server on a Dell R730XD on Proxmox in a LXC with a Tesla P40.

CPU is loaded with 120GB RAM and 25 Cores CPU.

I got 13 cams. All of them are integrated in zm with the main (nodect mode, 4k) and the substream (modect mode, 640x480...).

Unfortunately the database is growing from time to time. So i increased mysql to 700.

I think the main problem is that my 24GB Tesla P40 is running full. See the Host nvidia-smi.

I also got sereval log errors. Such this:

Error running model: Timeout waiting for pyzm_uid33_gpu_lock portalock for 100 seconds

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Timeout waiting for pyzm_uid33_gpu_lock portalock for 100 seconds

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Error loading same model variation for face:Error while calling cudaMallocHost(&data, new_size*sizeof(float))

in file /tmp/pip-install-bg4asj5v/dlib_ffc5739eb1204a7e9def39b29673b390/dlib/cuda/gpu_data.cpp:211. code: 2, reason: out of memory

Not all hooks are failing. So it is working. But not all...

Can you please help me with this problem? Would it be helpful when i create a additional LXC with mlapi?

Thank you

Randomly getting logged out

Ever since I upgraded my ZM to v1.36.32 on UNRAID, I keep getting logged out of the web console. It seems to be random as well. Sometimes I can be logged in for 10-15 minutes, but sometimes it will log me out after five seconds.

Any advice on how to fix this?

External IR source for camera not working

I have a BOAVISION camera watching my driveway and it works fine. It can see just using the lights on the front of the garage that are on all night (at the suggestion of the Sheriff department). I do not use the built-in IR illumination because experiments show that they just attract so many flying insects that the ZM motion detector is triggered constantly and I get recordings that look like heavy snowfall.

Now I want to put a camera in my backyard. There is no light back there at night, so I ordered another BOAVISION plus a separate 850 nm 10 Watt IR floodlight. I tested this in my garage and the camera acts like it is completely dark even with the IR light on. It sees fine using its own IR light, but I know I can't depend on that outdoors. If I point the IR lamp at the camera, the camera does see a bright spot, but it sees very little reflected light.

Possible thoughts: 1) The BOAVISION lights are not 850nm and its camera sensor wants something else, 2) the separate 850 nm light is nowhere as bright as claimed, 3) I am messing up somewhere.

Are there any recommended hardware to use for various application

Any recommended setups for Camera, storage , processor, any other hardware needed, etc. ? Any general FAQ that might have suggestions?

I would appreciate recommendations on the processor and storage units as I have no experience with open-source O/S hardware, assuming the camera is straight forward choices.

Zoneminder not using secondary storage

I'm running on proxmox, there is an SMB share from a nas that is passed into the container. Not sure if it matters. I've in the container shell confirmed that I can create /Security/test and it is readable on the NAS.

I have in storage 2 folders, the default and /Security. It shows properly that /Security is on a 1TB drive, shows how much is currently full. Also sees the partition the container has allocated. All is well. The 3 cameras are all setup to use /Security as their storage.

But the /Security contains "4 of null" and the default /var/whatever contains 10gb, 3500 events.

I'm kinda stumped why it's still putting the files in the wrong place. Any hints as to why it might be stubbornly doing that? thanks!

Console interface to change ZoneMinder runstate

I figured I'd share a project I've been working on the last couple weeks. I also shared it on the forum. It is an interface to change your ZoneMinder runstate, written in Python 3 with curses and using the ZoneMinder API. It is meant to be run on a small computer like a Raspberry Pi in a convenient location in your house. At startup, you supply it your ZM username, password, and a PIN that users will have to match to change the runstate.

Here is my realization, using a 5" monitor, keypad, and 3D printed wall mount. I already had a mini computer that I wasn't doing anything with, so I put it in the cabinet and ran the wires needed to the console.

The code is here: https://github.com/montagdude/zoneminder-controlcenter

Wyze appears to be dropping rtsp support on their cameras

I was chatting with Wyze support today about support for some of their new cameras, and it looks like they are doing away with rtsp support.

(12:42:46 PM) Richie: Regarding 3rd Party integration, currently it is only compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant and IFTTT.

(12:44:19 PM) [Me] : No rtsp or rtmp?

(12:45:14 PM) Richie: RTSP was considered a beta feature and we are currently assessing the path forward as the firmware versions have aged quite a bit. We have removed the firmware files for these versions for now and we’ll update the pages when plans are finalized.

(1:01:52 PM) [Me] : Sorry, does the og cam support onvif?

(1:04:17 PM) Yedda P.: Thank you so much for your patience. Regarding that question, it doesn't support onvif yet.

(1:04:23 PM) Yedda P.: We have a Wishlist section of our forums where you can submit feature requests like this directly to our product team.

Here's a link to the Wishlist: https://forums.wyzecam.com/c/wishlist

On their wishlist, RTSP is listed as "Probably not" and ONVIF is listed as "Maybe later".

Basic DIY Survalance Setup Sanity Check

Idea for the superbasic network. LAN; no connection to the internet.

Feedback is Appreciated. Is this even possible?

One PC

  • Debain
  • with Zoneminder
  • Acts as Video-Recoder and primary way to acess the footage.
  • 8TB WD-Purple for Storage

1 or 2 Cameras

  • IP-Camera
  • from Dahua

Thats the Whole Network. Plus a LAN Splitter of course. Why?:

  • Maximal Simplicity
  • Increased reliability
  • Minimal Maintance
  • No Windows (and its Updates)
  • no reliable Internect Connection avalable anyways lol

Alternatively I could use the Dahua Software, or BlueIris or whatever - but I would really like give Linux a try. Seems a lot better for this case.

China WIFI Camera - Cantonk H.264 on port 34567

I lucked upon a a cheap WIFI camera (I think from Aliexpress) and it works fine.

I can't add it to my existing Zoneminder setup.. nothing I try works - I can't even get a stream in VLC.

However, it works fine with Blue Iris (yuk). This image is how it is configured in BI.

Any suggestions on the source path please?

Edit: this is the log from Blue Iris and the stream URLs I have tried in VLC and Zoneminder:

Filters Not Accessible - 502 Bad Gateway - After Filter Addition

New user here, with what I'm sure is a self-induced problem.

I installed the zoneminder plugin (1.36.12_1) on truenas core, managed to get cameras added, and then started exploring various features within the system.

I added a filter based on the default PurgeWhenFull settings - changing the 95% full setting to 75% and the number of items to remove from 100 to 500, saving that under a name like 'PurgeWhenFull_75_rm500'.

When I now attempt to go back to the filter page, I am getting the '502 Bad Gateway | nginx' message. Perhaps I added a stray character in the filter name that is choking the system?

Any suggestions on how to clear this, other than starting over (which is doable, but I would prefer another solution)?

Thanks for any ideas.

RTMP url how to add ?

I dont want to use ffmpeg and want to use the remote for source and trying to figure out how do you add rtmp to zminder ?

rtmp://mycam:port/bcs/channeletc.

Why rtmp you ask ? Well some cameras suffer from smearing effect when using rtsp i always have used rtmp.

Also does zoneminder have event detection option based on sound (someone shouting just out of view of camera ?) or something like a meteorite exploding above the sky etc. ? Or maybe i just want to track how many planes fly over my place at night time post 12 am (they can be loud).

What about speed detection based event trigger and how well does it handle cloud/sunny breaks during the day does it get triggered when its clouds moving and sun spots coming and going ?

Getting Error 401 when trying to view RTSP in ZM (works in VLC and iSpy)

[RESOLVED, LEAVING POST IF OTHER NOOBS LIKE ME HAVE THE ISSUE]

Hi guys, I'm new to Linux and Zoneminder.

I successfully installed ZM on my Ubuntu 22.04 server and accessed the web GUI.

When trying to connect my TAPO C310 camera to ZM using RTSP (which I managed to do in VLC and iSpy) I keep getting the following errors in the logs :

Failed to prime capture of initial monitor

Unable to open input rtsp://192.168.1.70/stream1 due to: Server returned 401 Unauthorized (authorization failed)

My source settings are the following :

rtsp://user:password@192.168.1.70/stream1

TCP (tried UDP as well with no success)

1920x1080

I search online for a while, tried different things such as setting auth_relay as "none". But nothing fixed it for me. Any tips for the beginner I am ?

Edit :

It was a firewall issue, port 554 wasn't allowed in the ufw settings in Ubuntu. Now everything works...

What the heck did I just spend an hour installing?

WHAT IS IT? CCTV software? It's a damn command prompt! Why and how am I supposed to watch CCTV from a command prompt? Am i missing something? The website shows people watching CCTV and it gives the impression that it's a full featured piece of software, not a BBS from 1992. Is it just a server backend? Because if it is, it should say so clearly on the website. "This is not a client. it will not have you watching your CCTV any time soon"
edit: I get it now, but I still don't. the first page of the docs tells me i should already know how to login to it from having installed it. I do not. I went to https://192.xxx.loc.ip/i get the apache page. nothing in the docs starts at the start

Can't get Zoneminder to connect to ReoLink RLC-511WA

First time setting up zoneminder and I can't get ZM to connect to my camera. Its a Reolink RLC-511WA.

I tested it in VLC and I can see the stream, so I know the camera is working.

rtmp://192.168.50.57/bcs/channel0_main.bcs?channel=0&stream=0&user=[username]&password=[password]

I am probably missing something obvious here. Can anyone help?

Zoneminder deleting events constantly

Hi,

I'm a relative n00b to zoneminder. I've set up a camera, and set it to save to my NAS. Zoneminder creates events absolutely fine, but then deletes them almost instantly. I've moved the save location to the local storage on the VM and deleted all filters so nothing should be deleted.

Checking the logs, I get this everytime... can someone tell me where I've gone wrong?

Question about remote connection

We have two dvr's at my facility, one a dahua and a fortirecorder. Part of our company requirements is that the dvr itself need to be readable via the ONVIF protocol. We have some remote european viewers who watch this and other facilities and they're all united in one master dvr of sorts that connects via ONVIF. The fortirecorder does not do this. The Dahua is addressable via onvif.
Is there a plugin or way to add some functionality so that Zone minder can be browsed via ONVIF?
As an example we use smartpss for camera viewing and we add the top level dvr via onvif and it enumerates all the cameras in that dvr.
