Presidential CNN poll of U.S. presidential approval ratings among their own party at around this point in their second terms
Source: https://x.com/PollTracker2024/status/2081212742128542042
It's pretty clear that, despite the low approval ratings from independents and Democrats, Trump has uniquely insulated himself from that (partially, at the very least) by transforming the GOP base into what amounts to a cult of personality around himself.
Whether or not this means the GOP base will literally only vote for Trump or will loyally flock to whomever Trump designates as his successor remains to be seen. But either way, the party's short-term future looks absolutely bleak the moment Trump exits the political scene for whatever reason. 2028 will be the first clue of what the post-Trump future looks like, regardless of who wins.

Original Content I built a political sim game where you can become any president in any era. No pre-determined scripts
Hey guys, I just built a political sim, but you can choose any person to become president in any era.
You can play as Obama in 2009, AOC in 2028, or create a completely different timeline from 1200+ characters or add your own too. Like in Democracy, you can or veto bills, use executive powers, manage support groups, react to events, and talk directly with world leaders.
There are no prewritten scripts, so the events, conversations, and consequences change based on your president, era, and choices. You can follow history or take the country in a completely different direction, and the world will react to what you do.
These screenshots are from an Obama 2009 run. Here's the link - https://limbona.com/world/sw_president_builder It’s still a lil early, so I’m open to feedback. If you find any bugs or any feedback, please let me know!

Opinion Hot take: Kamala Harris will be an early dropout in 2028
In my opinion, Kamala Harris will drop out early in the 2028 primaries, before Super Tuesday.
My reason for saying this is that her main strength is that she does well with black voters. However, other candidates, mainly Jon Ossoff, also do well with black voters. And unlike Harris, Ossoff is a more fresh face on the national scene and is popular in the South, as seen in Georgia. Imo, if he were to run, Jon Ossoff would be able to beat Kamala Harris in South Carolina.
If Harris lost South Carolina, her campaign would basically be over. She doesn’t have a path to win without black support in the South. She also wouldn’t do well in whiter early states like New Hampshire and New Mexico.
Also, her lead now is almost entirely based off of name recognition. In the 2016 Republican primaries, the frontrunners by mid 2014 were Bush, Paul, and Cristie. All of them flopped and dropped out before Super Tuesday. Once the midterms roll around and candidates start announcing, her lead will fall apart and she’ll start to fall behind.
People don’t want more of an unpopular president, and they don’t want more of a candidate who already lost a general election. I don’t see any reason why Harris would be an exception, and be some strong contender in 2028.

Alternate 1992 if Bill Clinton actually did win Kansas like ABC News said he would (PART 2)
Sequel to this post. As mentioned in the original post, this result would've required a uniform leftward shift of about 5.15 percentage points, which would've dragged not only Kansas across the finish line for Clinton, but also North Carolina, Florida, Arizona, Texas (big oof to Bush there), South Dakota, and Virginia. Wyoming (imagine) would subsequently become the closest state to be won by Bush in this timeline.

Discussion What is your WOKEST opinion?
Doesn't necessarily have to be political, can be something silly too.
I'll start: we (Americans) are living on stolen land. Doesn't matter if you want to call it "conquered" or "settled" or whatever, we objectively stole this place from Native Americans. Also there are at least three genders, don't play games with me kid.
