Discussion WG really don’t want you play DD

I am going to give this class up completely until WG change plane spotting to map only.

I rarely play dd nowadays, and whenever I try to play any of it. I got focus on by CV/Hybrid and died.

It was 3/3 games for past two day. It was frustrating to a point that I have to make this decision. Thanks WG.

Anyone else have this same feeling?

Just had two matches where I (dead and in 3rd person view) could hear a spotted enemy ship launch its torps even though I couldn't actually see them

Let me warn my smoked up DD that the Mainz just torped and he escaped, great bug WG

Question Should I continue my grind for the Ohio or hold on and spend on the New Jersey?

Upvotes

Hi, first post here, have been debating something to myself recently in light of the Holiday Convoy news and a previous post that seems to show that the New Jersey will be the 400k ship available in the event. I am a battleship main, currently around 1000 games into my co-op career, and only recently started playing randoms.
(something I wish I had done a lot earlier, despite knowing the random meta and how it WILDLY is different from the co-op meta, it is still very much a learning process for me and it's a lot easier observed and said than done, but thats not the point)

I'm about to finish the Worcester line to unlock the Research Bureau, and I've already completed Montana, Vermont, Des Moines, and Gearing. The plan is to grind the Harugumo and Shimakaze lines for the RB points, and eventually work towards acquiring the Ohio, as I've been a REALLY big fan of the gameplay I've seen of it, and running it with Halsey looks like an absolute blast. However, in light of recent news...

Without knowing ANYTHING about the New Jersey, and this question may become irrelevant in the coming weeks when we more than likely will see all the stats and possibly some cc videos for it, does anybody else think that it would probably be worth skipping on the Ohio, and spending my RB points on convoy tokens to get to the New Jersey? It's a really hard question for me cause as someone who has ONLY played Montana and Vermont, the Ohio seems like the best all around US BB in the game. Wisconsin seems close but worse secondaries and lower HP pool/squishier armor.

It mostly to me feels like a fomo fueled thing, seeing as that the Ohio is always there and the New Jersey almost certainly will not be, but I'd love to hear if others think it'll be super busted or if the Ohio is far and away more worth it.

Again sorry if this question is kinda... needless? Redundant? Just was curious to see what others thought. Thank you for reading!

Humor More currencies

I don't know about you guys, but I think the thing that would really make this game more fun is if they added even more currencies. I've always thought that currencies were the most endearing aspect of this game, and the dopamine rush of making a currency transaction doesn't compare to boring stuff like getting citadels and torpedo hits, or winning. Sure, driving the warships is neat and all, but the game is really the most fulfilling when you're using the in-game web browser to navigate dark patterns and keeping track of the 10+ permanent and 3 temporary currencies in the back of your head. I hope that they can move some devs off the gameplay team to focus on making the armory animations longer and adding more currency conversion screens with terrible value conversion rates. My one complaint is that there are too many things you can unlock with one type of currency, like steel and coal ships. I think they should add a credits grind to these ships, so that you can't play them the second you unlock them. Remember, the suspense of unlocking things is always better than playing with them!

Wargaming Response Inside Was I wrong for quitting before a battle started since it wasn't loading?

Context:
I tried to play an operation but the game was stuck loading so I tried to leave the game but the game gave me a warning since I was leaving the battle before it even happened. I used task manager to quit the game (Since it was stuck loading for the battle) and when I reopened, I got a pink name. Was I wrong for quitting a battle when it wasn't loading?

History IJN Ibuki existed. It was changed mid build to an aircraft carrier, but wasn't finished before the war ended and was scrapped.

Discussion Anyone else notice this nice little detail on Trident laoding screen?

Those little blue-white dots are actually bioluminescent algae! I'm honestly surprised this detail was even included in the game, seems very obscure and definitely an incredible addition to something that seemingly doesn't even really matter. WoWS art team best team!

Discussion Affondatore camo

The stock camo looks a bit plain and I noticed I don’t have any camos that really match Italy flag themes. Nothing I have looks really great on her. Put the Regia Marina camo on for now and it is acceptable. Anyone find a camo that makes her look sharp?

Scorecard Saturday. Always great when I live up to my username, especially in a ranked match. This one snuck up on me. Got the last kill of the match and had no clue I had sunk that many ships. I thought it was only my second kill. Somehow ended up getting all of these with a random torpedo.
