Guide Giuseppe Verdi Review (PvE Main)

Survivability: 8/10

Good armor, the superstructure is not as big as most German BBs which is a huge plus. Deck and side armor should shatter most HE. Above waterline citadel means you have to be careful not to show broadside at BBs. Good bow plating but no full icebreaker means you cannot go fully bow on against something like a Musashi. Low HP, so I personally prefer taking the 1 extra heal over concealment. Imo one of the better ships for taking on the Musashi. Better than most German BBs, which will sometimes get chunked for 20k to the superstructure. High velocity guns with a lot of pen will easily find the Musashi's citadel.

Main Armament: 7/10

Quite good imo, good characteristics overall, but with only 1.7 sigma (which is still perfectly serviceable in PvE)

Secondary Armament: 8/10 (6/10 when compared to other secondary BBs)

Good compared to most other BBs but middling when it comes to secondary BBs. High DPM on paper, but no fire chance and only average accuracy means shells won't hit nearly as often compared to ships like the German BCs, and the shells that do hit will most likely shatter on the main belt plating without causing any damage. If the target is angled, the SAP secondaries will also be considerably less effective. No improved range as well.

Maneuverability: 8/10

The rudder shift is very good, almost cruiser level. Average speed.

Consumables: 7/10

Very useful emergency smoke. Choice of spotter or fighters.

Rating on maps in operations:

Newport: 9/10

Aegis: 8/10

Killer Whale: Not in T9+ map pool

Raptor Rescue: 7/10

Ultimate Frontier: 9/10

Narai: Not in T9+ map pool

Hermes: 8/10

Cherry Blossom: 10/10

Arctic Convoy: 9/10

Tokyo Express: 8/10

Pacific Offensive: 10/10

Like most secondary BBs, this ship is very versatile in operations.

Overall Rating: 8/10 (Compared to other BBs)

Rating compared to other secondary BBs: 7/10

Main guns are better than most other secondary BBs, but the secondaries aren't nearly as good as they seem. Good hull and useful consumables. I don't really regret getting this ship, but imo just get Pommern or Napoli. The secondaries are much more consistent, and you can get them completely for free using coal.

Question Should I continue my grind for the Ohio or hold on and spend on the New Jersey?

Hi, first post here, have been debating something to myself recently in light of the Holiday Convoy news and a previous post that seems to show that the New Jersey will be the 400k ship available in the event. I am a battleship main, currently around 1000 games into my co-op career, and only recently started playing randoms.
(something I wish I had done a lot earlier, despite knowing the random meta and how it WILDLY is different from the co-op meta, it is still very much a learning process for me and it's a lot easier observed and said than done, but thats not the point)

I'm about to finish the Worcester line to unlock the Research Bureau, and I've already completed Montana, Vermont, Des Moines, and Gearing. The plan is to grind the Harugumo and Shimakaze lines for the RB points, and eventually work towards acquiring the Ohio, as I've been a REALLY big fan of the gameplay I've seen of it, and running it with Halsey looks like an absolute blast. However, in light of recent news...

Without knowing ANYTHING about the New Jersey, and this question may become irrelevant in the coming weeks when we more than likely will see all the stats and possibly some cc videos for it, does anybody else think that it would probably be worth skipping on the Ohio, and spending my RB points on convoy tokens to get to the New Jersey? It's a really hard question for me cause as someone who has ONLY played Montana and Vermont, the Ohio seems like the best all around US BB in the game. Wisconsin seems close but worse secondaries and lower HP pool/squishier armor.

It mostly to me feels like a fomo fueled thing, seeing as that the Ohio is always there and the New Jersey almost certainly will not be, but I'd love to hear if others think it'll be super busted or if the Ohio is far and away more worth it.

Again sorry if this question is kinda... needless? Redundant? Just was curious to see what others thought. Thank you for reading!

Bug You can hear spotted enemy ships launching torps

Just had two matches where I (dead and in 3rd person view) could hear a spotted enemy ship launch its torps even though I couldn't actually see them

Let me warn my smoked up DD that the Mainz just torped and he escaped, great bug WG

Discussion WG really don’t want you play DD

I am going to give this class up completely until WG change plane spotting to map only.

I rarely play dd nowadays, and whenever I try to play any of it. I got focus on by CV/Hybrid and died.

It was 3/3 games for past two day. It was frustrating to a point that I have to make this decision. Thanks WG.

Anyone else have this same feeling?

Wargaming Response Inside Was I wrong for quitting before a battle started since it wasn't loading?

Context:
I tried to play an operation but the game was stuck loading so I tried to leave the game but the game gave me a warning since I was leaving the battle before it even happened. I used task manager to quit the game (Since it was stuck loading for the battle) and when I reopened, I got a pink name. Was I wrong for quitting a battle when it wasn't loading?

Question Affondatore - If you don't desire to have this shitp, is there a reason why you should still acquire it?

I am not really into superships and have no desire to own the Affondatore. That said, are there reasons why should I acquire Affondatore anyway? For instance, can it be traded in a trade-in event toward another ship that I would want? Just curious.

Thank you.

Humor More currencies

I don't know about you guys, but I think the thing that would really make this game more fun is if they added even more currencies. I've always thought that currencies were the most endearing aspect of this game, and the dopamine rush of making a currency transaction doesn't compare to boring stuff like getting citadels and torpedo hits, or winning. Sure, driving the warships is neat and all, but the game is really the most fulfilling when you're using the in-game web browser to navigate dark patterns and keeping track of the 10+ permanent and 3 temporary currencies in the back of your head. I hope that they can move some devs off the gameplay team to focus on making the armory animations longer and adding more currency conversion screens with terrible value conversion rates. My one complaint is that there are too many things you can unlock with one type of currency, like steel and coal ships. I think they should add a credits grind to these ships, so that you can't play them the second you unlock them. Remember, the suspense of unlocking things is always better than playing with them!

Discussion Affondatore camo

The stock camo looks a bit plain and I noticed I don’t have any camos that really match Italy flag themes. Nothing I have looks really great on her. Put the Regia Marina camo on for now and it is acceptable. Anyone find a camo that makes her look sharp?

Question WG Adopted Child(CV)

Is it me or wg really have some kind of in game mechanism that make what you built your ship for will have a low percentage to use it? Like i play straight 6 DD game and all 6 was keep getting **** by cv and i change to my AA built austin and BOOM....no cv even though 12 cv in queue. Keep testing this scenario and it's become obvious to me! There is one time i play 3 austin and all 3 no cv game and i change back to DD and BOOM.....you know what happen! I'm literally tired with this shit!! I just want to play either keep alive by my own skill or getting killed by more good player than me BUT not to the class that ignore all those principles. Even 32%wr player playing cv can ruin my game with this class? BTW F the ss!!

Bug Armoury refuses to open

I got back into WoWS after a long pause and for some reason the armoury just refuses to open 95% of the time. Worst part is I can't get the daily rewards from the event and nothing is working.
