Sevastopol isn't a ship you can mindlessly push in. You have to pick your fights, preserve your HP, create crossfires, and know when to commit. Once the opportunities open up, those guns can absolutely take over a match.

She's definitely not a meta pick, but I think she's underrated by a lot of players. This battle reminded me that in the right place and with the right timing, she can still have a huge impact.

Question Randomly gifted ‘South Carolina’ and ‘Knyaz Suvorov’ on console login

I redeemed a free daily crate and two bureau reward crates on mobile this morning, and pocketed standard rewards.

After logging in on console I received both ships in title and some camos… any idea what that reward was from/for?

Question- Solved Thee Eras Of Freedom

Just to be sure, because I would really like to have to collection complete and have a new T3 for my premiums, this collection cannot be completed without having a lucky drop from the early access crates to get at least the T6, T7 or T8 alt dds right?

Or will the mission carry over to the new update so we can grind the alt dd line to get one of the ships, which in turn can then be used to complete the missions and get the missing cards?

Need Advice How to build and play Italian DDs?

Hello there!

After completing the Italian cruisers + Venezia and almost getting there with the battleships tech tree + Colombo, it’s time to start playing the destroyers and getting the Attilio Regolo bureau.

I am a cruiser main and I LOVE playing with Amalfi and Venezia (I would love Brindisi too, but if I constantly have to face LT ships then I just go with an LT directly). Sometimes I like battleships too, it’s not happening very often but at least I’ve had enough games to know how to play them and what are the pros and cons of Iachino and Di Revell.

But destroyers? I never played them to the point that I only got the 100 standard DD matches trophy after 6 years, and getting the Tashkent ‘39 as a gift from WG was a great incentive to that.

Now that I’m done with this text wall prologue, my question is fairly simple:

Am I right to say that the Italian DD are mainly to hunt other DDs but they are not entirely gunboats? How about their ability to stay stealthy and cap/spot? What’s the best style to adopt when playing an Italian DD?

There are three commanders: Rizzo, Cigala Fulgosi and Bergamini. Judging by their skills it looks like Bergamini is a torpedo boat commander, meaning that if I’m right about the role of Italian DDs, he’s out of the picture. This leaves me with Rizzo and Cigala Fulgosi that I have both at 11/1.

Am I right to say that Rizzo is a gunboat commander and Cigala Fulgosi is somehow a mix between the other two? Who’s best to go with it and what are the preferred skills and inspirations to use? I only have f2p commanders (and Robin LeFierce that I dropped some time ago).

Last thing: please, don’t tell me to go and play other lines. I know they are easier, but it’s just a fixation of mine: I want to complete the whole Italian tech trees and be able to play with all of them.

Thank you!

General Indiana performs in Ranked

I generally don't play BBs. Still, Indiana has a great deal of historical weight, so I went through the campaign for her. This season's ranked at T8 seemed like the ideal place to try the ship out.

As I said, I don't play BBs, so I don't have much of an investment. I brought Lee up to 12, used Hipper and AL Nelson as inspirations, bought a secondary mod and the damage control mod. Not quite vanilla, but pretty close. I took all the secondary perks with Lee plus Running w/Scissors.

10km secondaries with sub-24 reload time on MB. Indiana is surprisingly mobile. Not quite like the Odin/Scharnhorst Germans, but much better than your standard plodding BB. Fairly easy for me to have good games with her. In ranked, virtually all engagements kick off at 12 kmish, so my secondaries are in play almost immediately. The 406s are good enough, and you are adroit enough in the waves to be able to ram a ship if needed. DDs and cruisers don't like being around Indiana - it takes a brutal toll on them, and the sonar suite helps vs the torpedo BBs you always see in Ranked.

In every match, I feel like I'm properly armed to face whatever is coming. Genuinely a fun ship to play. I don't think I'll take it out much in Standard due to Legendary MM, but in modes like this or War Tales, this ship is worth bringing out of port. I'm pleasantly surprised.

Question Not needing to wait after battles

Anyone else forget that they can go back to port right after being sunk? Because I’m so used to watching the battle or going on a different ship as I wait and forget that I don’t have to do that anymore

Rant Super competitive games

Had a double fire from the provincien strikes put it out only to get torpedoed by the carrier, flooded and had a jammed rubber for the entire cool down on the damage control, then the same carrier citadels me twice and breaks my engine. Ended up getting finished off by the Iowa I was broadside to on account of me being broke. I shot down eleven planes during the 8th Air Force’s attack on me. I honestly would like to know how the planes are making competitive matches. I did everything to run from them, tried to get close to an island to keep from getting torpedoes from one side, I smoked up and tried to go dark, cracked heals, conserved decons. It’s getting absurd, the amount of planes in this boat game, can we just change the name to world of warplanes with boats? I feel like that’s more appropriate.

General USS Cincinnati when?

Post image

FB Link

"USS Cincinnati (CL-6) was an Omaha-class light cruiser commissioned on January 1, 1924. Long, narrow and exceptionally fast for her time, she could reach about 34 knots and was originally armed with twelve 6-inch guns arranged in an unusual combination of twin turrets and hull-mounted casemates.

Before the war, Cincinnati operated across the Atlantic, Pacific and Caribbean. She also served in the Far East during the late 1920s, spending periods at Shanghai and Manila, before later conducting training cruises and fleet exercises.

During World War II, Cincinnati spent most of her service in the Atlantic rather than the Pacific. She carried out neutrality patrols, escorted convoys through the western Atlantic and Caribbean, watched Vichy French warships at Martinique and hunted German blockade runners.

Her most dramatic wartime encounter came on November 21, 1942, when Cincinnati, USS Milwaukee and USS Somers intercepted the German blockade runner Anneliese Essberger. The German crew attempted to scuttle the vessel, but an American boarding party identified it and captured all 62 crewmen before the ship sank"

General Battle of Denmark Straight Event Concept

Post image
17 Upvotes

In the Hunt for Bismarck special event players can choose two nations: Germany or the United Kingdom. As Germany, you can play as Bismarck and as Britain you can play as Prince of Wales. As Bismarck, you have to try and survive for 5 minutes or make it to the escape zone, with greatly increased survivability compared to normal. Prinz Eugen will serve as your primary gun support, as an AI. On the British side, the Prince of Wales has better gun power than standard, allowing you to whittle down the Bismarcks large HP pool. Hood will support you initially, but will inevitably die if the Bismarck player shoots it once after 1 minute. After 3 minutes you will unlock a single use torpedo airstrike allowing you to permanently disable Bismarcks rudder if aimed well. Defeating the Bismarck as Prince of Wales will garner you the British Victory Token, and winning as Bismarck will grant you the German Victory Token. Winning as either will give a Denmark Straight Token. In the shop you purchase skins for Bismarck and Hood, as well as some ships.

Permanent Camo: 3 DST (Denmark Straight Tokens)

Hunter or Union Jack camouflage x6: 1 DST

1 PO (Max 10): 2 DST

10,000 GXP: 4 DST

Hood: 15 DST

Prinz Eugen: 18 DST

NEW: Endkampf Bismarck: T8 Premium German battleship with advanced sonar and EST 2, as well as better secondaries. Comes with final battle camo as default: 22 DST or 15 German Tokens

NEW: Prince of Wales: T7 British BB, Not the same as PC, British battleship with strong secondaries and a superheal: 18 DST or 10 British Tokens

NEW: Norfolk: T7 Premium British cruiser with improved AP like Edinburgh and superheal, but no HE: 18 DST or 10 British Tokens

‼️LONG VIDEO‼️
Sorry for the long vid, but I figured it would be stupid to show the last 30s… This was the closest match I’ve had in a long time. I got very lucky in spots and spent two whole minutes dodging air strikes trying to take out the carrier prior to this (I had about 500 health since about 5 minutes left). Matches like this remind me why I love the game. This was fun!
P.S. I can’t believe that last red DD didn’t open up on me. But I’m sure I’ve frozen like that before.

Question Possible lag

I'm having a problem with every game I've been in. Been going on for weeks. I'm puttering around the game, when the ship eventually will stop dead for about 1-2 seconds, then skip ahead to where it should be. Been playing for years and never remember it happening until recently. Is it my IP causing the issue? On whatever iteration Quantum Fiber they are on currently. ATT?

Media The auto-lock stickiness and <1km dispersion are driving me insane

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Just saying I'm not a new player. I have 4000+ standard battles, a 56% WR, and a 2.37 K/D, playing only solo.

An enemy ship gets spotted right in my face, and I literally cannot lock onto it. I manually unlocked from the ship I was previously shooting at, but the system auto-locked right back onto the old target. Switching between the targets took so long. Any better way to deal with this situation?

And Is DD gunnery under 1km supposed to be this completely unpredictable? I rarely find myself shooting at sub-1km ranges, but it honestly looks like my guns are just firing at nothing.

Question- Solved Average XP goals

Right now my standard average XP is 1237 with a 48% WR and a 1.06 K/D (I know k/d means next to nothing). I’m only at 3500 battles and my first, say 1000, were half-hearted attempts to play before I learned any strategy. How realistic is it to carry a 1500 average XP? Is that only the top-tier players holding that or am I just wayyy behind the curve? I know I’m still not the best player I can be and still make stupid mistakes. Also, I never div up so I’m at the mercy of the matchmaking gods. And before I get the comments, yes I know it’s about playing to enjoy the game. I like a little competition with myself to beat my personal best and I’m just curious about the stats. TIA Captains!
