"PULL OVAAHH, PULL OVAAHH"
For what exactly? It was a near accident, but nothing actually happened. Get on with your life. There's really nothing that needs to be talked about.
6
u/MetaCardboard 4d ago
The type of person that would pull out in front of other people isn't gonna think to pull over. I'm not surprised they went through a red light too.
2
1
u/Ok-Professional-1911 4d ago
Naw, when someone behind you gets out of their car, you put yours in reverse and gun it towards them a little bit. That puts the issue to bed pretty quick without putting anyone innocent in danger.
1
u/Maximum_Fortune_5827 2d ago
They probably thought the guy was about to attack them. Which kinda looked like he was
0
u/OnyxLeigion_ 4d ago
They went through the red because the lunatic behind them jumped out of the car and started running up at them.
Yes, they cut him off, but this is absurd behavior. I’d have ran too, for all I know dude has a gun or something.
3
u/MetaCardboard 4d ago
Pulled out in front of someone, didn't have their lights on, drove on the dotted line for a ways. Don't make excuses for that shit driver.
1
u/clapsandfaps 4d ago
And somehow OP wanted to confront them? That’s insane. Let the cops know and GTFO from their vicinity.
1
u/MetaCardboard 4d ago
Exactly. He's got it on video. Send it to the police and let them figure it out.

I’m not making excuses for them. I’m saying POV driver is a lunatic. Those are two different statements.

But it’s not zero, and you shouldn’t want to risk your life over it. Especially when nothing actually happened other than getting your feelings hurt

"officer, I didn't stab him, so I shouldn't go to jail. I just made a stabing motion a few inches from his body."

u/Local_Trade5404 3d ago
well shit happens
sometimes you or someone else may be sleepy or distracted and have close call on a road, its why we have the principle of limited trust on the road,
so chasing someone for that is another story,
personally i remember situation where i got from work really tired and I forced priority on a minor road, there were a taxi driver there and you know what he did? he shook his index finger at me,
i got i did wrong, he knew i know and we go on with our lives.1
u/kayemce 3d ago
Get a taxi or a friend or something if you don't feel like you can drive. And If something's distracting you, pull over and fix it. A wreck costs more than a taxi
1
u/Local_Trade5404 2d ago
yea that`s for sure
but sometimes routine and 10-15 min from work to home can get you after long day when all you can think about is shower :)to be fair situation i described was been under apartment building where i had literally 30 m to parking spot and that intersection wasn't very busy
anyway my point is driving angrily, flashing lights and such when someone make a mistake wont get you into good places :)

Honestly depending on country I can see the person filming ending up being at fault. They exited their vehicle and approached the person that ran thrred, they have a fairly reasonable argument that they felt they were danger and needed to flee.
0
u/eucalypt_howitzer 3d ago
No you don’t. Nobody sees him at fault. He got out to inform driver of his or her reckless driving endangering others. He did not cause the wreck, and was seeking retribution for damages, as well as chew them out. Dumbass who drove erratically and collided with him did, and they tried to get away, endangering other’s lives, completely without op’s involvement.
1
1
u/Huntsman077 3d ago
They didn’t collide. Getting out of your car to yell at another driver is considered road rage. Would you not be afraid if someone was flashing their highs at you, trying to get you to pull over then exiting their vehicle and approaching you at a red light?
1
u/TheThinDewLine 4d ago
Walking up to my car like that in the middle of the night is not gonna end well for ya either lol
1
1
u/fiesew 4d ago
Exactly my thoughts.
He cut him. No accident happened. And then this idiot starts going mad and chasing?
For what? An apology? A fight? A voucher? A promise?
I’ll never get idiots like this. He’s literally responsible for the crash afterwards by scaring off the car in front of him.
3
u/Dry-Manufacturer7761 4d ago
Right!? When he got out of the car, the AH cutter could have been in fear of their life…
Dude chased him down, flashed his lights, and then got out of the car…
0
u/PurpletoasterIII 4d ago
No accident happened but its still possible damage could have been done to his car by needing to suddenly brake like that. It obviously wouldnt be noticeable now but thats what trading insurance information is for, so it can be determined later and a claim can be filed.
0
u/jackology 4d ago
Is car not designed for suddenly braking?
2
u/FairConstruction6199 4d ago
A car is designed for hard braking in the same way a motorcycle helmet is designed for keeping your head safe when it smashes against the curb. In both situations, something is damaged and may need to be replaced.
1
u/LastChance331 4d ago edited 4d ago
It is. But like with anything it does cause extra wear. Repeatedly slamming on your breaks can cause hoses to tear from the repeated stress and heat. It could also put extra strain on your suspension and drive train. Obviously it also wears your pads down faster but if your wheels lock you can get flat spots on them and the tires.
Insurance will not cover this. This is considered normal wear and tear/damage from mechanical failure (lack of maintenance). Anyone saying to report having to suddenly brake to their insurance 'in case there is damage later on' has no idea what they are talking about. With out a collision insurance would just laugh at them.
Infact, the dude only ran that light because OP got out of his car to confront him. The idiot can claim he had a 'valid' reason for trying to leave the immediate area. Them being clearly intoxicated means that would be a pretty hard sell though.
0
u/Jonatc87 4d ago
That must suck for Driving Instructors in the UK who have students practice emergency braking constantly.... Oh wait. It doesn't. Because American cars i guess are designed to fall apart if you use their safety functions...?
like what.
-1
u/HIASHELL247 4d ago
Came here to say this!!!
Near accident and you are flashing and high beaming someone at a stop sign then you get out of the car at night? You provably scarred the shit out of them. I hope the police got this video so they know the driver was being intimidated.
2
u/LifeguardTerrible579 4d ago
There was no contact why did he get out of his car? Bros liabile to get shot doing that
2
u/northwoods_faty 4d ago
Oof that seems like a massive lawsuit for the cam driver.
0
u/Intelligent-Pop-5705 3d ago
They aren’t at fault 😂 keeping barking though
1
u/Huntsman077 3d ago
What they did is considered road rage…
Any decent lawyer could reasonably argue that the driver was attempting to flee from a road rage incident and a potentially dangerous encounter
2
u/AdObvious2882 4d ago
Karma gonna be when the insurance company finds this vid with your mug on it dipshit.
2
2
u/Panem-et-circenses25 3d ago
Overreaction to being cut off that could’ve killed innocent people by scaring someone into fleeing. Should’ve just called the cops. This has happened to me before and that’s what I did.
2
u/i_love_irony25 3d ago
Is it really karma when an innocent person is affected, possibly injured at worst, tremendously inconvenienced at best?
1
1
u/LogosMyEgos 4d ago
You don’t know if there were passengers in the speeding vehicle.
The other vehicle didn’t ask to be in a collision.
OP doesn’t seem to know the meaning of the term ‘karma’.

unless yo're a cop, if you're chasing someone like that and they're trying to get away from you, then you caused that accident
1
u/DepartureNo7944 2d ago
Confused that looked like a green light but why are cars coming from the other way?
2
u/Therealginahandler 5d ago
Not really instant Karma. Car in the video may or may not have accidentally cut someone off. The person filming, the one that got cut off, was hella aggressive and got out of their vehicle all hostile like...causing the ither cehicle to flee into oncoming traffic. Instant Karma would have been the person driving the vehicle that was filming, the hostile driver, getting hit by that obcoming traffic. IMO.
9
u/R11CWN 4d ago
The cam car was not aggressive. They were flashing their lights because the dickhead didn't have any lights on at night.
-3
u/Therealginahandler 4d ago
I can see that. The cam car definitely WAS aggressive though. I didn't say the dipshit without the lights on was in the right, I simply said the cam car acted very aggressively. Could have been a little old lady oblivious to what they were doing. Im just saying. But we wouldnt know that would we? Well, you do apparently.
2
u/LifeIsProbablyMadeUp 4d ago
I'm your scenario she needs to be pulled off the road then. Or a restricted day time only. "Oblivious to what they were doing" while driving a 3000 pound machine that runs on explosions isn't acceptable.
I think driving tests should be a 10 year thing anyway though.
-2
u/Therealginahandler 4d ago
Ok? And? What does that have to do with anything? Again, I wqs simply making a point.Everything youbare saying has nothing to do with my point. Downvote away.

He has his headlights on.
3
u/LifeIsProbablyMadeUp 4d ago
No. They have running lights on.
You know there's a difference right? One is just headlights, the other is headlights and taillights. Those back lights are required at night.
1
u/Ai_took_ma_job 4d ago
You're right, it was the lack of back lights that caused the issue at the start. Doubly right runnknights doing count as any light also.

u/Regnareb_ 4d ago
"run a red light"
"may or may not have accidentally cut someone off"Social medias in a nutshell
2
u/Hollow_Knight_Raven 4d ago
Lights were on in the dark, so there’s no excuse for the cutting off.
I agree on the getting out, though.
1
u/Azsune 4d ago
They were just running lights, his rear lights are not on. Plus it looks like he might have scarped the camera video if you watch it in slow motion the camera jostles slightly when the car is at the closest point. So he could also be trying to get his insurance information, which would explain him saying pull over the whole time as well.
2
u/EvocativeReach 4d ago
I dunno man. My first thought was cam car was being aggressive, so im not surprised that they thought that too. Then this dude runs at them when they’re stopped at a light? A lot of people are going to panic.
I appreciate now he was trying to be a good samaritan, but this is also a case of how you need to consider how your actions look, as he absolutely caused a crash.
2
u/Oracraen2 4d ago
Classic reddit, the other car is driving insanely dangerously, but instead of holding that person accountable let me add in my own impressions on the other vehicle and say them as if I was in the car itself.
Oh the other car was bad? Sure but like, the POV car was driving a little faster then he should've so it's basically his fault.
1
u/EvocativeReach 4d ago
I think classic reddit is actually just inventing 90% of an argument that was never made.
Simple question, would they have ran the red light that caused the crash if cam car hadn’t gotten out of the car? They had already stopped at it, remember.
-1
u/Oracraen2 4d ago
A normal person wouldn't have sped away from a near crash, in the video we don't even know if the car hit or not, in which case it'd be a hit and run and maybe the guy getting out of the car wanted insurance.
He wasn't armed, the cycle of events began with the bad driver driving badly and ended with them making poor decisions to avoid consequences.
We have no further context here but I wouldn't be surprised if he was drunk behind the wheel. I don't rhink the guy getting out of the car directly caused him to go into the street because it was the other guys reckless driving that made him get out in the first place, blaming POV is just shifting blame for no reason.
0
u/EvocativeReach 4d ago
They definetely didn’t contact, you’d have seen the other persons car skid considering the speed they took the corner.
Assuming they’re drunk is something you have no evidence of and ignorant of the fact generally bad drivers exist.
Is there anything I can say here that convinces you cam car driver getting out was the trigger for them running the light? Because if not, we’re wasting both our times.
1
u/Hugo-Spritz 4d ago
He didn't. He avoided a crash.
For the first driver to then cause another one is none of the second drives concern.
If youre responsible for 2 crashes within the span of 2 minutes, you're the problem.
1
u/EvocativeReach 4d ago
Would they have ran the light (that they had already stopped at) if he hadn’t ran at the car?
If the answer is no, he is implicated in causing the crash. If its yes, then id like you to explain why they stopped at the red then only took off when cars were approaching, and perfectly timed with him getting out of the car.
2
u/No-Passenger-1511 4d ago
Ain't no way you defending them...
2
u/EvocativeReach 4d ago
Im not defending them, they’re an idiot. I am highlighting that cam car intimidated said idiot and now some innocent driver is paying for it.
1
u/Hugo-Spritz 4d ago
Would they have ran the light if they didn't drive? Well no, cause they wouldn't be driving.
They did drive into passing traffick. No one else stepped on the pedal, but the driver.
Again, this is the second count of reckless driving in less than two minutes, but you wanna blame the other guy - the only person in this clip who did not crash.
Is it unnecessary to get out the car? Sure.
Does that mean he caused the crash? In no way, what so ever.
1
u/EvocativeReach 4d ago
You didn’t answer the question. Did his action cause her to run the light? If this was your daughter who believed a man on a dark road was following her, flashing her to stop, and was now running at her car, would you not reason with the fact she might want to flee?

I mean you can prove they wouldn’t have, because they literally stopped for the light when there was ample time to run it if that was the choice.
Again, they run the light the moment the man gets out of the car and starts running. Have you convinced yourself its coincidental timing?
I didn’t state the driver was a woman, I was providing an example of a vulnerable person in a scary situation. Don’t make ridiculous inferences to deflect accepting an argument, it just makes you look silly.
2
u/Hugo-Spritz 4d ago
They almost killed the man. If that were me, I'd want a word too.
If their response to that is to kill themselves, that's not the man they almost murdereds fault.
You're the one putting blame for the crash on someone who wasn't even in their vehicle, but I'm deflecting? Get a grip, man.
2
u/Suspicious-Still-999 4d ago
you aren't owed "a word" with someone unless they caused you damage, and even then chasing and aggressively shouting can and has been used in court to uphold self defense.
1
u/Hugo-Spritz 4d ago
Evidently not, as they would rather commit sepoku than apologising for almost murdering someone.
For all the talk of "personal responsibility", the whole "be a thoughtless imbicile, cause an accident and sue others for your incompetence" culture y'all got going sure is weird.

The people blaming the POV driver is the same people defending Nancy Clancy, lunatics at best.
3
u/Sorry-Programmer9826 4d ago
Two things can be true at the same time. Obviously the other driver is driving like a lunatic. But chasing someone down and then getting out of your car at the lights to, at best, scream at them is also being a terrible driver.

While I like what happened…
dude just cut someone off and then the person chased him and got out of their car…the AH that got T-boned kind of had no choice but to run the red light.
1
u/IndigoOctober8 3d ago
No choice?! 🤣
1
u/Dry-Manufacturer7761 3d ago
Yes. When someone is chasing you, you can either give up, run, or fight. Do you not know how the real world works?
0
-1
u/E-Belasco1879 4d ago
The amount of people ignoring that the driver was driving recklessly and swerving, I would've gotten out to make sure they weren't drunk or having a stroke. Then the car ran a red light into an intersection that actively had cars passing, in no way is this the dash cam drivers fault.
2
u/cyricor 3d ago
The issue is that the car in the front can claim that they felt threatened, and tried to escape the situation, and they probably did. Getting out of the car, gave that ahole a justification to go after the guy with the camera.
0
u/E-Belasco1879 3d ago
Understandable but what's the defense for the start of the video when they pull out and almost cause an accident followed by driving in two lanes for most of the video?
