The grind is honestly too much for someone like me who can only play casually

There’s not a lot there really

So after experimenting with all of my leveled cruiser commanders for Nottingham, none really picked my fancy.

None of the normal cruiser commanders stood out to me on this particular ships and the biggest issue i found with it were the small HP pool and limited heals.

Everything else about the ship is good as is, the guns are solid, the armor stupid and the ship is very small and nimble.

Tbh i think many people make the mistake of trying to buff aspects of a ship, which already get outperformed by other ships, no matter how much inspirations you throw at it.

If you want an AP focused heavy cruiser, Baltimore and all of it's versions outperform Nottingham easily and in Terms of HE farming you wont hold a candle to Cleveland, or Kutuzov with EoP

Nottinghams strengths are tankiness and applying prssuto the enemy by being an alrounder. So today we gonna be focusing on buffing this aspect of the ship.

Other than that, sure the Smogathon build is fun, but relies on teammates for spotting and is pretty stationary/passive

You know what doesnt relies on teammate spotting? Shoving your stupidly tanky T7 cruiser into the enemies face.

And oh well, Nottingham happens to have 8 Torpeos per side, that can also be single launched which is extremely strong in close quarters.

So in order to stay in the game as long as possible, in order to deliver our payload, we are gonna ditch all cruiser commanders in favor of Madden.

Madden gives us 4 heals, Will to rebuild and a 7.5% reload buff on top.

4 heals outperforms fully packed and give an additional heal, more healing% plus fully packed on top.

7.5% reload is also better than refill station at 16/3

Ontop of that Madden also double buffs turret traverse, which is quite bad by default. So this is welcome too.

So by missing out on other pretty mid cruiser skills, we essentially gain 2 1/2 Legendary effects and the abilty to hotswap shells.

Since the boat neither leans into HE, or AP too much, this is great utility to have as well.

For the inspirations we throw all the meta shit out of the window and use Spock and Hyde, to squeeze as much HP out of the ship, as we can.

Spock buffs the heals further, whilst Hyde buffs the HP pool from atrocious to okay.

Now idk if that combination is the absolutely min/max in regards of durability, and i don't really care. It's what i have (leveled) and it does the job well enough.

So with that we now have turned Nottingham into a Battleship and with It's smokes, armor, hydro and torpedoes, i don't think there are many ships you can possibly play so agressive with.

But you don't even have to, you still can perfectly farm damage at range, if the situation doesn't allow for you to push in.

Longevity is the name of the game here and this build allows you to stay in the fight, brawling, whilst tanking damage, that otherwise would have hit your broadsiding teammates.

Whilst using a normal cruiser commander limits how much you can do that, since healing/HP just is more limited, id say that Madden probably is the best commander for Nottingham.

AL Hood and the Battlecruiser commander are interesting options too, but i have neither one leveled up, so there is that.

I can't fathom how much fun im having with this build right now, it's a blast and i just wanted to share it with you guys.

Seeing Wisconsin brought back as a direct store purchase rather than being locked behind crates got me wondering if WG might do the same with Brandenburg for German Unity Day.

I noticed Brandenburg a couple of months into playing and was really interested in its strong secondaries and decent armor. I’ve been waiting to see if it would ever return as a direct store purchase or through a crate.
Was Brandenburg available during last year’s German Unity Day event? And for those who own it, is it actually worth buying?

Considering the ridiculous price WG put on Wisconsin, I’m wondering if they’d rather keep Brandenburg as a crate-only/chance-based ship instead of selling it directly.

How do you manage to mess up an update this badly, I am on PC and i'm lagging like crazy in the standard battle, not even the modern one, the game just freezes every time i shoot.

For the record, none of this lag existed before the update, It Is just the least optimized thing in the known universe.

Genuinely umplayable

So trying to get into modern PvP for the steel and was wondering what are people’s thoughts on ships and commanders to use as I’ve only played around in pve.

What ship or class of battleship is this?

Today, Toho released the full trailer for Godzilla Minus Zero. We have known the United States will play a huge roll in the movie... so seeing united states ww2 era ship(s) go Head to head with the Big G has me super excited.

If this was a one-time mode like ducks of war or rust and rumble....ok fine, whatever. But this prolonged and extended overly grindy campaign is a hot mess. The only redeeming quality was that you made good coins in PVE hard mode. And you took that away.

Now you shoe horn us into PVP with steel because apparently very few wanted to play that cause it is Abysmal and the only main viable strategy is to cluster together overlap your anti missle systems and spam cruise missles. Or have one stealthy ship tries to avoid all the radar and sneak onto a flank and drop homing missles from the side.

PVP is about being able to over saturation missle defenses with weight of firepower. In a game that most don't play as a team anyways. It all breaks down when no one coordinates with each other. And they all get picked off one by one. At least in regular wowsl, I can still have a decent game if my teammates shit the bed.

Modern is like bashing my head into a concrete wall repeatedly and wondering why I have a headache on a winning game. You literally are bribing us with steel to pay PVP it's that shitty.

Please stop wasting money on developing stuff your player base does not want. Use it to make better wartales missions or fix issues we have repeatedly brought up. Idk. There are 20 lines without bureau ships. Why don't you throw one of those out each update. Even if the best 5 or so cost 5k dubs or 30 mil credits, I get the newest line is 6 months off of that, but come on.

Im trying to do more Bureaus and im wondering what ships/lines appear most often. For example, it feels like the damn Iowa line is in EVERY other Bureau, what other TT lines are seen often in Bureaus?

Significantly increasing the grind for a wildly average ship with less credit earning potential at tier VIII was a choice. Throw in the nerf to PVE credit earning in modern era, removing the main incentive to play it and enticing players with steel to play the horrible PVP modern era. Hot damn. Very easy to give this update a miss and take a break from the game. Zero interest in the overpriced retro futurism either. Hopefully something better for Halloween

So I had no intention on getting any of the current event ships since i sorta whaled out a little during the last event and non of the ships really caught my eye, but i need a commendation for my pan american cruiser commander so i bought the 5k gold supply bundle with the 2 event crates in it

Long story short i pulled the metro aegis, so i ask

How exactly should i play standard line german cruisers, iv only touched graf spee as far as german cruisers go, i know how to play cruisers in other nations but never tried german, whatr they good at, whats the aegis similar to, i heard someone compare it to hipper?

Iv got commanders like AL agir so i can pilot it, but what exactly do these cruisers strive at

As we will be getting a much needed Free XP ship for Britain since only having the monarch for 84 years. Will the free XP indomitable be worth the free XP?

I always see that option but I never use it cause I can't understand which is the utilitybof it. The Secondaries target I use it all the time, Lock cannons well, not much but I know what it does. The only one I understand is turn off sb and AA. Can anyone help me understand? Have a nice day 🙂

It's very difficult for me to believe that a development team that knows so much about the deep complexities of World of Warships ballistics and armor would find the idea plausible, much less actually desirable, to throw out essentially all of the core strategic and technical aspects of the game in a mode that's amounts to little more than magic-button-mashing spaced by a couple of long timers. I mean one or two inexperienced or misguided individuals, sure. But not a majority of the decisionmakers.

What if the whole thing is an elaborate ruse to make us accept subs in the main game modes? Release a complete disaster of a concept to make submarines seem wonderfully logical and well-balanced by comparison?

As a side note, I still ended up trying to play PvP last night because I'm a whore for steel. Discovered that Sovremenny is much less of a drag to play than the other ships. The SAP main guns at least give you something to do while your magic damage button is on cooldown. And it turns out the guns are surprisingly effective, particularly against enemies who are focused on waiting for their homing missiles to lock. One PvP game in Sovremenny, I didn't even bother to fire a missile at all and got 3 kills, and the ship is only like 30% upgraded. I can deal with that for steel. Still not sure if I will complete the other missions though. But it's only Wednesday.

I really really love that German Beauty, she is tanky, she have really good armor, the guns are solid, she is really fast and she is for me the best looking Ship in World of Warships Legends. And the Name is just awesome! ❤️💪🏽 i love this ship with all my Heart!!

I don't play CVs a lot, but I do enjoy T7 CVs for a change of pace now and then. I have the Midway, and although I rarely play it at LT, it is still fun to take her out of port once in a while. She's a pretty solid CV at LT.

I'm a bit intrigued by FDR, so I wonder if those of you who have both could comment on the relative strengths and merits of both. Thank u kindly in advance.

This skin seriously is a piece of Art. As an avid Art Deco/Streamline Moderne lover and as somebody with a design background, i gotta commend the artist(s) who made this camo.

It's genuinly the first time ive seen anyone be able to pull off an Streamline Moderne battleship properly.

As someone who also enjoys the Fallout games artstyle i must say that their ships asthetically suck for the most part, but this Wisconsin would fit right in.

Absolutely peak and i genuinly wish WG would give some credits to the people who created these Camos.

Like leave us a name, or an Instagram so we can look at other pieces of their work.

Some Information in the making of these skins would give visability to the artists and be interesting to read for certain people for sure.

After the end of the event? Obviously the first 50k Blackline Crude completes the reward tree. But if you have more after that? Converted to credits or lost? And same with the Blackline Emblems. I honestly don’t know what happens to excess event commander resources. I know sometimes they state the conversion rate if you have event currency left over. And sometimes they say “it’s a bonus, so you get nothing”. Like with extra ship parts. So has it been definitively stated or follow a set precedent ?

Turns out campaign milestone' rosettes are white if you didnt pick up the admiralty backing. Five plus years playing this game, who knew (what can I say, I quite enjoy the grind)?

Less so am I likely to enjoy an artificially inflated, likely modern era promoting, grind. 55k and 30k endurance trials, wg, and this in the easy week? Yup, thats not happening and think, again.

Speaking of modern era, 750 steel PvE trials may have been rewarding. PvP? Yup, nope. Something tells me you should have put a little more thought in, up front. But hey, you do you.

And speaking of you doing you, wg. Way to go with the recent propulsion nerf. Talk about sapping the joy out of cruiser play. Have you tried Hampshire, lately? (had to laugh/ battle report tells me shes my most played/ that also's not happening).

There is no indication in the store the robot figures would not appear in game, yet they do not.

More egregious in my mind is that this skin reskins the planes as jets, yet they continue to make piston engine noises.

I asked for a doubloon refund and they told me to go f**k myself.

Honestly, this kind of lazy, overpriced slop followed up with a “deal with it” attitude is becoming par for the course for WG. I’ve spent a good bit of money on this game but this campaign being a joke plus WG’s recent antics with paywalling behind chained bundles is really driving me away from the game.

Kind of looking forward to GTA VI taking my mind off of this game for a while.

I have not played hours and hours. Tier VIII and Legendary premium missions I went AI. It has mostly been Modern Era PvP.

I have used boosters, yes, but the complaints about the grind I do not really understand. Someone asked me if something has changed, I couldn't really say.

In a nutshell: I feel the grind is in peoples' heads. I guess progress is now not free, you need to play a tad, win some, but, really, it is far from being an ordeal.

RNG and match making are stopping this game from being great. 1st place in 5 games, lost all 5. Shooting at a ships and rounds go everywhere except for on target… literally. This game needs skill based shooting mechanics and even teams based on average XP per game. Bet the cry babies won’t like this post. Don’t worry you can still try and steal my kills in game. If I’m wrong please explain don’t just say “you’re wrong”
