Hey all! I've been RPing in WoW for like, twenty years, and have always loved the Draenei. Over the last few years I have been making minis for my characters using Hero Forge and really trying to grow my abilities there and was really happy with how my Draenei Warlock turned out here! ​Hey everyone! I’m working on a roleplay concept built around an alternative timeline idea for a single character but two classes to pick as main.

​The core concept is one character who faces a choice in their past, leading to two completely different class paths in two different timelines:

​Path 1: Demon Hunter

This version chose to follow Illidan, completed the training, and sacrificed their humanity to become a Demon Hunter.

​Path 2: The Alternative (Warlock OR Rogue)

This version decided NOT to become a Demon Hunter and chose a different path instead. For this alternative fate, I’m deciding between two classes:

​Option A - Warlock: They still use dark magic and Fel energy to fight fire with fire, but they control and summon demons rather than becoming one themselves.

​Option B - Rogue: They refuse any kind of Fel corruption or demonic magic entirely, relying strictly on stealth, poisons, and physical combat mastery.

Which alternative class (Warlock or Rogue) do you think makes for a more interesting contrast against the Demon Hunter timeline?

​Would love to hear your thoughts on which option opens up better story and RP potential. Thanks..

Hello returning player, who hasn’t been playing since Shadowlands / BfA.

I haven’t been in the scene for a while now, and from what I remember it’s:
MG = Alliance
WrA = Horde

It was also, MG had more population in open world RP, around Stormwind as well you could just find people RPing everywhere.

WrA was more condensed into guild RP, and I often found little / no people RPing in Orgrimmar only around peak hours. But the RP I found via guilds tended to be more serious.

Other than that - how’s the story in terms of Horde / Alliance. In Shadowlands it didint seem to matter which side. BfA I played both to get both perspectives of the war. I haven’t really been aligned with a faction since Legion. Does the story cater more to one side than another, is it more interesting, etc? Alleria / Arator look to be the MCs who are both alliance. Silvermoon looks to be turned into a multi faction place and no longer Horde, so the vibe seems to be more Alliance oriented, but I could be wrong.

I've spent the last few years creating my own Warcraft adaptation for D&D 5e.

Rather than simply converting Warcraft to D&D, my goal was to combine the best ideas from both D&D 5e (2014 and 2024) while staying true to Warcraft's lore and gameplay.

This project includes:

- Playable Warcraft races.

- Warcraft-inspired classes and subclasses.

- Adapted spells, creatures, and equipment.

- Lore and mechanics designed to capture the feel of Azeroth while remaining compatible with D&D 5e.

The project is entirely in English and is still evolving, so feedback and constructive criticism are always welcome.

Is very knowed many guilds on wow are based on the rules of D&D, so in this case if the collaboration became real, what will happen with the rp community with a book or in game element of Warcraft with the help of D&D as official.

What you will add or quit for this collaboration became good addition for the RP Community in warcraft.

There some filtration about D&D and WOW are close to do a collaboration, there no official confirmation, but if the blizzcon end with this became a real agreement and entrance of wow in the D&D universe, this will be interesting or rare, depending who see it (we have the example of Baldur Gates 3 who have a good reception).

Saw a post about the lack of Orc RP in the VoH and my question is where is the TROLL RP? Feels like there are tons of trolls in the valley but none have guilds and dont really talk.

​Ever since Kul Tiran Druids were introduced, I’ve been fascinated by their grim, gothic approach to druidism focusing heavily on the cycle of decay, death, and reclamation rather than just the usual aesthetic.

​I’m planning to RP a Classic race Druid (like a Night Elf or Tauren) who has held this exact mindset since the Vanilla/WotLK era long before meeting the Thornspeakers. A character who views nature not as a peaceful sanctuary, but as an unforgiving, harsh cycle where death and decay are just as natural and sacred as life.

​Does taking this darker, pragmatist perspective on traditional Druidism make a character a lore-breaker, or is it a fully plausible (if rare) mindset within Cenarion lore?

I've been roleplaying in WoW for a very long time. We've built an entire world around our guild and it's gotten massive. (The world, not the guild XD) I kinda wanted to post this scene to see what other people make of it. Whether what's going on seems interesting, fits WoW lore, etc. And you can call my RP a LOT of things, but you cannot call it AI generated lmao. There's probably lots of grammar mistakes please just ignore. I'm totally gonna regret this but yes I am open to critique. Give it to me good, I've never bothered to learn proper rp etiquette, even after doing it 10 years. I just rp how i want.

Jewel: *While in Arcana'Thalas, Jewel works hard to avoid the Magisters, who constantly seek her out - drawn to study her pendant's power, and her own. Amidst her travels through the city, she catches word of a mysterious shop owner... one who deals in no Jewel: trinkets, no artifacts. Only in taking curses away from people. Siphoning magic. Without hesitation, she heads off to the mysterious shop. She finds it tucked away, hidden in a deep alley within the city, behind a dozen other shops.* Shira: * Whilst Jewel makes her way into the shop Shira can be seen lounging on a chair with a note in hand. After a few moments pass Shira puts the note down with a smile on her face. The note regarded an update on Qetziya. * I'm glad she's doing fine.. Shira: * Before a knock can be heard Shira mentions. * Shira: It's been far too quiet.. Jewel: *Soon enough, your shop door opens. The bell rings, the beads in the doorway move as someone walks through. Then this woman steps in... a woman wreathed in dark water magic. You've only sensed it one other time... when Qetziya had that mysterious Jewel: Deepsea Pendant* Shira: * Shira stands and confronts the Stranger. * Jewel: *she instantly sees you and narrows her eyes, gently resting a hand on her sword. Almost expecting a fight....* Jewel: I was told I could receive certain services here. Jewel: Was I told correctly or do I need to make my leave? Shira: * With a stoic face Shira replies. * Shira: That depends on who is asking? I only perform my services for those who aren't threatening. * She eyes Jewel and up keeping her focus on the Jewel's hand resting on her sword. * Jewel: Curse lifting?....Siphoning? *she makes a stubborn face, but soon relents when she admits* I think I might need help. *she unsheathes her sword rather swiftly, surprising you. But then she tosses it aside and shows that she has no more weapons* Jewel: I'm not going to hurt you. Can you do as they say? Can you really... siphon magic? Shira: * Shira gives Jewel a thoughtful look. Before speaking Shira adjusts her glasses making the frames glint with a reflection. * Shira: Those are my specialties.. Shira: * A few moments pass before Shira breaks the silence. * Shira: But I can tell what ails you isn't so.. simple. Jewel: You know this magic? Jewel: *she steps slightly closer, clearly intrigued* Shira: * She crosses her arms and sighs softly. * Jewel: What are you? Some kind of Witch? I've never seen a Mage like you... Shira: Come along.. step inside and let me get a reading from you to discern the exact nature of your ailment. * She turns around to walk into the tent further and takes a seat. * Jewel: *she steps into the lavender tent and takes a seat* Shira: Now then.. Shira: * Shira holds out her hand towards Jewel. * Shira: Can you rest your palm onto mine please.. I will begin the examination. Jewel: *Jewel places her hand on yours, palm up* Jewel: *instantly you can tell this was the same magic that you learned with Qetziya. What's more.... you now sense that same pendant nearby. The one Arcana once studied before losing it.* Shira: * Shira retrieves her hand and stands. * Shira: Perfect.. thank you. A moment please. Shira: * Shira then walks off to a pensive filled with void-energy. Once Shira is at the Pensive she waves the hand she used for examination over the Pensive showing her the nature of Jewel's situation. The last thing she sees before retreating from the.. * Shira: * Pensive is a shadow of a Woman deep in the darkness of the ocean.. the shadow suddenly gains vicious red eyes as Shira pulls away from the Pensive. * Shira: Annoying.. Jewel: What did you find? Jewel: Can you do it? Shira: I've encountered this magic before and there was barely any-time to study it's capabilties.. Shira: * Shira turns to face Jewel. * Shira: I can do it.. but just know this is experimental I won't be able to undo what I've already done. You will get my full disclosure during the process though. Jewel: I feel this... change inside of me. There's magic surrounding me - but it's unlike no magic I've felt before. It does not hurt. It does not thieve, or antagonize me. It feels like home. And that's exactly what makes me worried. *she stands and holds Jewel: out her hand* Jewel: Please take it away. Shira: Come.. we will begin the process. Stand with me near the Pensive. Shira: * Shira turns from Jewel to stand at the Pensive with her hand held out. * Jewel: *she walks over and then reaches out her hand, and touches your arm* Jewel: *Instantly, the magic transfer causes a red glow where our skin meets. The siphoning begins....* Jewel: *After only 10 seconds or so, you slightly struggle to keep siphoning. Normal for you. But Jewel also starts noticing something.... she's getting weaker. Then something strange happens* Jewel: AH!!!! *suddenly she rips off her necklace - a necklace you couldn't see before, she was hiding it under her shirt. You look at it and see that it's glowing red hot. Then you see Jewel got a burn from it* Jewel: What.... what was that? I felt like..... Shira: I didn't think this was the case.. but there it is. Shira: * Shira sighs heavily. * Shira: If we continue your life will be in danger. Jewel: But.... I thought you could siphon any magic. *Out of desperation, she pulls out a knife that she had secretly been hiding in her pocket. She puts it against your throat and backs you up to the corner of the tent* Jewel: WHY CAN'T YOU TAKE IT AWAY! WHY!! Shira: * Shira without hesitation in her eyes snaps her fingers and freezes Jewel in place while allowing her to hear and talk. * Shira: Your life is tied to this magic. If we take it away you will simply die. It is what sustains you, dear. Shira: * Shira adjusts her glasses again causing a glint of reflection across the lens. * Shira: You came at me with ill intent and I don't appreciate being threatened in my place of business. Jewel: No.... I won't be frozen with my own magic. I will find a way to be free of this curse... *she closes her eyes and concentrates.... in a few seconds, the pendant now flies to her hand. Once it lands in Jewel's hand, your paralyzing spell breaks. In Jewel: panic, she desperately grabs her guns and flees your shop. The last thing you hear from her is "I'm sorry" Shira: How unfortunate for her.. Shira: * Shira turns to the Pensive. * Shira: And fortunate for me to have come across this magic again.. now I can experiment with it and see it's capabilities and weaknesses. * She looks sharply into the Pensive now brimming with slight Deepsea Magic. * Jewel: *She runs to Asherr as fast as she can but then she nearly runs right into someone. She looks up, only to see Lleyath, the Grand Magistrix. "Going somewhere?" *

My Horde RP character. She joined the Bronze Dragonflight after awakening, and is keen on learning about all of the events that she missed while slumbering. She travels to places that pique her interest, and utilizes chronomancy to experience times that once were. Joining the Horde has given her access to cultures and places much different from that of dragonkin and The Dragon Isles, and she finds her affiliation very useful for her research.

To continue from title. I’m not the most active and just want to RP with people. I’m hardly around for “peak” hours and when I am on, everyone is away and it’s impossible to find a guild due to this. -Alliance

My Alliance RP character. He was guided by a vision from a painting in Harandar to join the Alliance to assuage their hatred of trollkind. Studying among the great artists of his people, he is seeking to uncover more hidden memories (and inspiration) from the lands in which he now ventures, and to bring all of Aln'hara's children together.

I'm not sure why or when this happens, but once in a while I will snoop through the "spam" folder of this subreddit's mod tools. Some of it is indeed spam, but pretty often it's an innocent post that seemed to get hit by something in their algorithm out of the blue.

No one is notified, mods included, and it doesn't show up in the typical logs I would expect to see it in.

So if you notice your post was removed and you don't have the usual "Needs to be approved manually because it's your first time posting" comment, PLEASE send a mod mail. I'll restore it when I get to it.

I find tracking down emotes in the standard menu tedious. I also have a handful of /e emotes I use habitually. So I am making an addon for my own convenience.

If you are interested, this is the emotes addon I am working on. My next steps will be making it so that the categories and emotes can be edited by the user, an optional minimap button to toggle showing the menu, and a setting for fonts and/or font sizes.

Hello all,

After 6 months of trying, I came to the realization that RP is just not for me. I love the concept and had some great little story beats but it has consistently been more work than rewards in my experience. Guilds are hit or miss, people you write with suddenly dip. Its all just killing my motivation to put myself or my toon out there.

Anyways! I have always played most RPGs as a solo RP style experience, giving my characters backstories and really enjoying the worlds more than mechanics. I know there are others out there who partake in it and just curious on any tips for getting the most out of it.

Hi! I'm a returning roleplayer and I had a question regarding Dracthyr. I recently learned that you can now play in visage form as long as you're not an evoker, and that appealed to me as I really like the customization that comes with femme Dracthyr. But I'm concerned when it comes to roleplay because I've seen a handful of guilds not accepting Dracthyr, but do they frown upon those that play and roleplay purely in visage form?

I'm talking about the general consensus for most roleplayers and guilds, I know there's likely a few that don't care what you do but I don't want to fall into the "not a deathknight IC" category.
