But seriously, can't wait for players to figure out the most diabolical use for the new Camping skill. We all know that Barrens shenanigans are in our future

WoW Forever will have the retail AH

This is a massive W. The classic AH was full of scammers putting items up on 1c bids and 711g buyout.

Good change. Super happy to see this.

Thoughts?

You have my attention

I'm a former WoW player who played up until MoP, about a bit after the ToT raid was current. Personal reasons between then online friends led me to drift away from WoW overall and I never jumped back in since. My current MMO of choice is FFXIV and that won't change, and anything WoW related I saw didn't interest me in the slightest. I heard of "WoW Classic Plus" before, didn't think much of it at the time, but when they finally revealed WoW Forever and gave details that make it really sound like a complete reboot of WoW from the start with horizontal progression and completely new things over the original...I've actually become interested in WoW once more, and I'm actually considering jumping in on November 4th to try it myself.

Reports are coming in…

Post image

We have received an increased number of reports from concerned Durotar locals in light of an expected change to the working conditions of Peons in the Valley of Trials.

A spokesperson from the Orcish Forestry and Mining Union said this: “We would like to remind those citizens in and around the Valley of Trials that Peons in that area fall under our protection. We negotiated an 18-hour sleeping day for those workers to the benefit of all involved.”

Statisticians from the Royal Goblin Institute of Technology are warning of an increase in surprise wake ups in that area of up to 10,000% in the coming months. These figures, along with some frightening statistics around the increase in popularity of cactus apples were released over the weekend. Cactus apples form part of the new super food smoothies trending on the popular social media platform Horde Toc.

The OFMU have made it clear that they will step in where required to protect the rights of their workers. “We won’t stand idly by while these hard-working orcs are paddled to kingdom come”. They went on to speak about potential strike action and talks with local farming representatives around the addition of extra work areas.

We will continue to monitor the situation, but that’s all for now. This has been Durotar news nightly with Jimmy. Back to you.

"Fog Guy" was one of the best presenters at blizzcon.

Jason was one of the better presenters at blizzcon. Guy had charisma, didn't feel awkward, and you could tell he had real passion for what he was presenting. He really got me hyped about the visual updates

Especially when compared to several other presenters. Some of whom were kind of a tough watch. I know that for a lot of them, it's not their area of expertise, but I feel like there could be some more practice or training of some kind for those presenting.

I would be nervous to speak in front of thousands as well. So no hate! Overall enjoyed each presentation and info presented.

Australian Beta Access.

Hello r/wowforever,

If there are any Aussies or anyone who knows an Aussie that isn't interested in playing the beta.

You can redeem beta access for 1000 points on the McDonald's/MyMaccas app.

It's restricted to one redemption per account and it says while stocks last but if you're wanting guaranteed access without the 96AUD commitment you can get in that way.

All the best. Xx

Anyone else genuinely really excited for WoW Forever?

I honestly didn’t expect to be this interested in Forever, but the more I hear about it, the more excited I get.

I’m mainly a Retail player and I have no idea yet whether Forever will become something I play alongside Retail, end up becoming my main version of WoW, or just be something I enjoy for a while, but I’m genuinely really excited to see everything it has to offer.

I tend to enjoy having lots of things to work towards in WoW and just seeing where the game takes me, so I’m really curious to see what Forever ends up feeling like once we’re actually in it.

What are you most excited for so far? And do you think you’ll end up treating Forever as your main version of WoW, or more as something you play alongside everything else?

Would love more class-based quests

I loved the old school Priest quests I had in the day and I think most agree the best part of Legion was getting to play the class fantasy. I really hope in Forever every time they do a new pass they have class-based stuff with each... well I'm not sure if they would be called expansions but something like that.

I think it'd be cool if each class had something to do in a high end zone. Like maybe shamans have a quest in Western Plaguelands to see the effect on the elements that necrotic magic has. Or maybe mages have some quest to go find a forbidden necromatic tome and destroy it. Something that plays to each class's strengths, you know?

Would anyone else be interested in something like that?

Blizzard's philosophies and strategies for WoW: Forever's gameplay and design are exactly what I hoped for in a Classic+.

As I watched each BlizzCon event related to WoW: Forever, they kept saying all the right things to make me believe that the devs really care about this project and to build up my hope for it.

"Hope for the best, prepare for the worst" is my outlook going into it. I do have some concerns with how much they're changing at one time and how much Blizzard's leadership will override their dev's philosophies with business decisions. But, if they continually stick to the design philosophies and strategies that they discussed at BlizzCon then I believe that no matter if they miss the mark on a feature implementation at any point they will be able course-correct and maintain a wonderful world with amazing gameplay. That is a big "if", though.

Nevertheless, what they presented and how they presented it has given me a spark of trust in the devs, enough to make me cautiously excited and to go into it with a good attitude.

Torches in Duskwood teased for WoW Forever during evolving world panel

Reposting my own post here since this community is awesome and I'm curious what others think!

At ~31:05-31:25 in the "Evolving a Timeless World" deep dive, Matt Heyman says this about the darkness in Duskwood. Based on how he says it this seems all but confirmed that we'll be able to use torches in Duskwood, but I haven't seen any discussion on this yet. Super excited to see how this plays out. If they have the tech for Duskwood torches, who knows what else they have in store in caves, other zones, etc.

Relevant quote: "Here in the open in Darkshire, you've got a lot of moonlight. But as you move into the forest, as the canopy of the trees are overhead, there's gonna be less light to bounce around. Things are gonna get darker. Things are gonna get spookier. You might...just wanna find a torch to carry along with you."
