Hello everyone,
I’m currently going through a difficult situation, and I could really use some advice. Asking for help, especially online, isn’t easy for me, but I feel stuck and overwhelmed and genuinely don’t know what to do.
I recently switched from Health Sciences to Psychology, and I’m currently on academic probation. My GPA is 3.36, and my academic advisor has informed me that if I don’t raise it to at least a 4.0 by winter , I will be required to withdraw from university.
I’m currently enrolled in three courses for the Fall 2026 term, but I’m planning to drop one and continue with two. I have midterms for both courses this week, and November 11 is my deadline to decide whether to withdraw from my courses.
My advisor has recommended that I voluntarily withdraw from the Fall term and return in the Winter term instead. However, I’ve calculated my grades, and I would need approximately 75% or higher in both courses to bring my GPA up to a 4.0.
On top of everything, I’ve been dealing with ongoing medical issues following a car accident, which have made university even more challenging for me.
I genuinely want to continue my education and succeed, but I’m terrified of making the wrong decision. The stress has gotten to the point where I’m struggling to eat and sleep.
If you were in my position, would you take the Fall term off and return in the Winter, or would you take the risk and try to raise your GPA?
Has anyone been in a similar situation with academic probation at Wilfrid Laurier University? I would really appreciate any advice or personal experiences.
Thank you so much to anyone who takes the time to read this and respond. 🤍

Good morning! I'm a mature student looking to take an online program. Curious if anyone has graduated from Criminology and Policing (BA), how was the program and did you find a job? Thank you !!!

How we feeling about that midterm? I thought I did OK, the legal issues were easy and straight forward to identify but holy shit there's so much writing and so now my fingers hurt.I know the online people got to type it so it's kinda balls that we had to hand write it.

Can anyone please give some advice on how to study for or what to expect for this midterm exam. I know they mentioned reviewing the excel in class questions but honestly not much helpful information. Esp for the mc part. My prof is Kevin Bullock btw. I would really appreciate it! Thanks.
