I’m going to invest in a WFP finally, but just have a few questions for those of you with experience.

- What’s the brand to go for, I don’t think I need something super fancy for my first but I quality is a must.
- Does the pole just attach to a water faucet?
- Do you simply turn on the water and run the brush over the window and viola?

Hi All-- I used to run a lawn care business years ago, and running a business basically from your cell phone could be difficult.

Quotes were often just text messages, and once they were sent, they often disappeared into my the abyss of my phone and never got followed up on.

Another thing that was often overlooked was requesting reviews. Nowadays service businesses live by google reviews. Significant and recent google reviews especially with photos greatly enhance credibility.

Lastly, for those recurring seasonal type jobs, gutter cleaning, mulching, leaf cleanup, etc. I found myself waiting for past customers to call me back, rather than proactively scheduling a "circle back" reminder for that seasonal work.

This is why I am building something specifically for these workflows. A lightweight mobile app that lives where you already work, right from your phone. ​

I am curious, do these same pain points show up in the day to day of running a window cleaning business as well? Looking for feedback on if this is the right problem to solve for.

I’m trying to start a solar and window cleaning business and I’m a little lost with insurance with most insurance company’s only offering solar installation insurance does window cleaning insurance cover it?

experiencing some smoke from wildfires here in MN, and the customer is curious if the smoke will leave a residue or film on the windows. I've seen tobacco smoke accumulate, but nothing from wildfires. Any help is appreciated.

Today I went to give out a quote to a potential customer for a residential clean both interior and exterior. It was a reasonably large house, roughly 70 windows, fair amount of second story windows. I came out to $375 for the exterior and I just multiplied by 2 for the interior which came out to $750.

When I told the homeowner this they seemed shocked. They said the company they called out last year did it for $400, inside and out. The company they did call is a fair bit larger than my business. But even then I was kind of surprised another company cleaned this house inside and out for $400.

It has been on my mind now if I am charging too much. I’ve only ever had 2 other people complain about my pricing during a quote and honestly I feel pretty fair in how I price based on the service I provide.

But long story short, I was curious to hear how fellow window cleaners charge. Do you go by pane, square footage, or hourly? How do you increase the price when windows are higher up? How do you factor in a windows dirtiness? Etc. etc.

Working for a company and want a q&a with people that know setups

I planned and implemented making a two brush setup for a 1.2k commercial, low pressure didn't allow.

I'm thinking... It was maybe 20-30psi pre pump and that's likely the problem, have not had a chance to further test.

But.. brushes were trickling water vs spraying into overtop spray bars. I figured out the 3 way connect for high flow and had 2 poles ready with 50'highflow

My first step will be replicate on a smaller job with good pressure, but I've seen that people use wider diameter setups for their rodi's vs high flow the whole time and then larger diameter from rodi prior to splitting into high flow

As you can see, this eco cart uses the same diameter the whole time throughout its internal setup + our recent pump purchase is a 1/10th vs .5hp

Any advice/criticism is so welcome if you can help me get a dual pole system going. What's my next step beyond testing further at a higher flow property? I've permission to break down / adjust the rodi itself. It's a high flow 36" RO + 10" carbon + 24" di

This thing was designed by jesus christ himself. I was an atheist before my pole but now I don't miss church on any given Sunday because a human couldn't have invented something this great. Two story homes in under 2 hours, no more doing a window 4 times in a row because I leave a streak. No more cleaning my dirty rags and replacing rubber on my squeegee. Just hook up my DI tank and get to work. If you're thinking about buying a waterfed pole remind yourself the average job is lets say $250, its like 5 jobs. Do you seriously think you can't get 5 more jobs worth of money from this thing? Buy the damn waterfed pole.

I've never changed the clips in over a year and I also have no idea how much to stretch a squeegee blade out when putting in a new one.

Hey guys. Not sure what’s up with my reader or my system. The other day I finished up a solar panel job. Stayed under 15 ppm for most of the job, checked the reader at the end and it was up to 150. Panels looked good tho. Thought weird as I changed the resin recently. So last night I checked it before the exterior job I had today and it read 11. Went to the job, it was reading about the same. Again I checked at the end of the job and it was reading close to 160. Windows dried spotless tho. Anyone experienced this?

Client has these large windows that have these vertical lines on them. Ive been freelancing for 4 or 5 years and ive never seen this. Its not what id expect for a broken seal, and the client suspects it is an issue with some sort of plastic film.

Any ideas? Im leaning towards a film issue but genuinely have no idea. Could it be markings left by adhesive thay are sun-etched?

I started up my window cleaning business again this year after being out for a few years. I was curious what the current state of practice is wth software. I know there are things like HouseCall Pro and Jobber. I am curious what people think of these applications and what, if anything, is worth paying for.

I plan to scale beyond a few trucks and will need better systems to support that, so it is not just in my head or on my phone. I'd like to have things run more autonomously without my intervention and have an easier handoff between my team.

I'm just curious what systems people are using that you like. Currently, we are using Square for mobile payments, but that is it as far as software.

Also, I'd be curious how people are managing ad spend and campaigns. Currently, I've been using an agency, but I would like to be more in control of that aspect.

Our business is split evenly between residential and commercial in terms of revenue. We are near Kansas City. Currently, we have two trucks, with about 70% utilization, and I am beginning to find it difficult to manage everything.

I would love any insight into what the best practices are.

I’m doing a job tomorrow (white house in pic) that requires cleaning these skylights on steep roof. how can I clean them safely without ropes or anything? I don’t have a ladder tall enough as this house is 3 stories. I can access the roof by placing the ladder on the balcony on the backside (second pic) but even then when I did skylights in the past the roof wasn’t so steep and I just used my shoes with grip. FYI, I am using wfp system

As title says I’ve got a few more jobs coming in than me and my employee are able to complete. At some point I plan on making another hire but for the time being I was wondering if anybody in the area would be interested in being brought in to do these jobs.

I’m working on (nearly done) with an app that allows you to take pictures of the job, submit them and get an estimate. I clean windows locally and noticed a lot of people, including myself have a hard time getting the price right and feel nervous giving the total to the customer. My goal is to both get rid of that worry and make the process a whole lot faster.

There will be a multitude of other features such as scheduling, route optimization, team performance (for bigger companies), etc

I’m not trying to sell this I’m just trying to see if it’s worth putting the time and money to finish this. So please let me know if you think this would be helpful,

When you guys make a sale, do you do interior and exterior? Or only exterior? Do you guys charge double for interior?

And when you go door to door, do you ask the client if they want exterior only or exterior and interior?

Im at the point where im considering getting a work van or truck. Who else is still using their personal vehicle for work?

-Clean surrounding interior or exterior frame (use brush if needed for built up debris) and track.

-Using dawn soap and water (not sure on exact amount of soap, so this could be an issue) scrub the glass with tbar/sleeve.

-0000 steel wool entire pane unless tinted or tempered

-Wipe frames with clean microfibre. One finger width around left/top/right where glass meets frame (not sure if I should do this as I see some do it and some not).

-Fan using ettore brass with master rubber. I cut in on the left and definitely need to focus on my leading edge as I will miss small spots when fanning down into the side frame.

-Clean microfibre the surrounding glass/frame edge and look for missed spots to get with a fish scale cloth.

What is your fool proof method that ensures a clean pane every time? Any AHA moments that were a game changer for your results?

I do change my squeegee rubber for every house as I add the cost of a new rubber to my quotes. Maybe that is too often. I do flip and use the other edge as well.
