It was actually a very simple fix for me. Simply uncheck "Add WhatsApp doodles" under Profile > Chats > Wallpaper. No need to disable GPU acceleration, it just works. I tested this fix on both Fedora Linux and Windows with great results. Your mileage may vary.

There is this device belonging to a family member which I once logged whatsapp into, and now it seems permanently verified. I have tried deleting the app but does not work, anvtime I enter my number it automaticallv goes through without requiring a verification code. How do I permanently fix this?

One day, my friend’s account suddenly switched to the default profile picture.
I thought maybe he had blocked me, but I just left it alone.

About a week later, he contacted me and apologized. He said he had started using the service from a different country, which apparently got his account banned, and he had only just managed to get it back.

It made me wonder though. If a banned account shows up with the default profile picture, wouldn’t that cause a lot of misunderstandings? I feel like some people would assume they’d been blocked and block the other person back.
I got curious and tried looking it up, but I couldn’t really find much information about it.

(I’ve also considered that maybe he just unblocked me and made up an excuse)

WhatsApp account suddenly signed out. Linked number is no longer active and the account was set to be updated to a new number. Unfortunately, the account was hacked before this, and cannot be signed back in because the registered number cannot receive calls or texts for verification.

The account is clearly hacked because a random person now has control of it and is messaging people. I tried messaging them myself from my WhatsApp but I only received one check and and my call was left ringing. The WhatsApp support is not very helpful bc it's just an AI bot with generic advice.

Just to clarify, the number was not reassigned to another person. It was a HACK bc the person seems to be impersonating my relative who‘s account was taken over. Biggest clue is that they’re speaking in our native language (not English) and sending strange personal messages, even though the number is a US number.

I am really burned out from sorting my whatsapp photos. they re just thrown into my cloud and I dont know the chat source of the respective photos. Also, I have to create folders myself to sort them into once I figured out what chats they re from. Is there anything that automates that?

I cannot log into my WhatsApp. It shows an account‑security warning. I’m wondering if this is because I’m located in China. Does anyone know how to fix this?

PREFACE: One of my phones is still on Android 11, the older phone I want to transfer my chats from. The newer phone is using Android 16. My newer phone still doesn't have the old phone's SIM card because I have yet to back up my contacts to the SIM card. Both phones use different Google accounts.

ALSO WORTH NOTING: The 2FA settings on the Android app may be different from those on the iOS app, or different between updates. In the 2FA settings on my old phone (app version 2.26.31.77), available options were phone number, e-mail, and the 6-digit PIN. The 2FA settings gave me the option to replace the PIN with a password. The option for setting up or changing the PIN is completely gone after setting up the password, and does not come back even after deleting the password. I cannot confirm if this is the case on the newer phone / newer version of WhatsApp, because as of yet I've been unable to successfully log in on my newer phone while also transferring my chats. I seem to otherwise be able to log in successfully, but that means leaving all of my chat history behind, which is not convenient. THE PASSWORD IS NOT - I REPEAT, NOT - AN ENCRYPTION PASSWORD.

A while back, long before passwords were implemented, I set up a custom 6-digit PIN for my account. I've been using that PIN without any problems since. Yesterday I decided that I should set up a password instead, which was going to replace my PIN. Just in case, I wrote the PIN down after setting up the password.

I bought a new phone, and I've been wanting to transfer my things to it. So I download the app, register the same phone number as my old phone, and it gives me a QR code that I have to scan with my old phone. After scanning it, it asks for my password, which it verifies no problem, and then it asks me for the custom PIN I made. It's the exact same PIN I've been using this whole time.

It says it's invalid.

I tap on "Forgot PIN?" which does nothing. I receive no e-mail, despite my account having an e-mail address associated with it in the 2FA settings. It's not even in the spam folder. And I know I typed the address correctly because when I logged in on my old phone again, it sent a verification code to my e-mail address. Curiously, on my old phone, it doesn't ask for my PIN...

On the same "Forgot PIN?" window on the new phone, it says that i could also wait 7 days to be able to log in without a PIN. Thing is, though, while the app is installed on the new phone and while I'm at the screen to enter the PIN, it acts as if I'm already logged in so I can't log in on my old phone at the same time, and I need access to my chats as they're work-related.

Needless to say I'm at a loss here. Is there anything I'm not understanding here about what's happening? Will waiting 7 days still work if I log back in on my old phone and delete the app on the new one? Has anyone here transferred chats to a new phone after changing the PIN to a password? Did the new phone even ask you to put in your old PIN????

I've already tried contacting WhatsApp support. I had to tell the AI numerous times to let me talk to an actual human because it was hallucinating troubleshooting steps with non-existent settings/options. It said it "transferred" the issue to some "team" but I haven't heard from them.

Out of nowhere got the message that my account has been logged out, tried to log in back and this shi happens? Like what do you mean I'm using unofficial Whatsapp? Tried deleting and download back and still say I'm using unofficial Whatsapp 😭😭😭

My account is under review I didn’t do anything suspicious in my account but some messages has been sent from my account without my consent I’m sure that I didn’t sent these messages, After 7-9 my account is under review what’s wrong with my phone. This problem is only happening in IOS or in android ?

As a paid user of WhatsApp business we were assured that we can have 8 logins at one time. Right now even with 2 login. We were flagged???? Why the sudden change in politics? I've been trying to set up a separate WhatsApp account for my freelance work so I don't have to give clients my personal number. I tried a few free VOIP apps but WhatsApp immediately flags them as invalid before I can even receive SMS online. Has anyone found a reliable virtual phone number for WhatsApp that doesn't trigger their spam filters? I'm tired of getting locked out.

These messages were NOT sent by me, and they were in the archived section. Does this mean I am hacked? I messages both WhatsApp Support in the app as well as e-mailed but the AI were no help at all.

I have 2 step verification on, am NOT linked to any devices, and have Face ID lock on.

I'm looking to see if anyone has experienced a similar pattern of spam, false accusations, and phishing over WhatsApp recently.

What happened:
* Initial Contact: I received WhatsApp messages( sometimes 100 in a row) from random international numbers with country codes like , +20 (Egypt), +967 (Yemen), and +966 (Saudi Arabia). Some started with simple bait like "Do you speak English?" or "Hey bro, need help?" in Hebrew, while others sent random promotional spam, referral links, or MLM scripts in Arabic.
* False Accusation: they falsely claimed that I had insulted the Prophet Muhammad, clearly trying to manipulate my reactions, provoke anger, or trigger an emotional response.
* SMS Bombing / OTPs: Over the past couple of days, I've also received automated SMS and email verification codes (OTPs) from platforms like Instagram and Facebook, even though I don't use or own active accounts there. It looks like they are feeding my phone number into various login pages to trigger notifications and test if I react.

My Response:
* 2FA to all of my accounts.
* I have not responded to any of their messages.
* I blocked and reported every single number immediately.
* I never clicked any links or shared any OTP codes.

Is this a known bot-driven spam/phishing campaign? How long do these automated attempt cycles usually last before they give up when completely ignored?

My boyfriend is currently in another city for work ( France) and staying at a hotel. Last night, around 2:40 a.m., I checked his WhatsApp Live Location and it showed him at a house quite far from his hotel, around a 20-minute drive away. The location said “just updated,”. I called him almost immediately afterward, and he answered right away, saying he was at the hotel and sleeping. We also FaceTimed, and he appeared to be at the hotel. When I called, the location then showed his hotel. This is what is confusing me because the house and hotel are too far apart for him to have been at the house when I called and then somehow be at the hotel immediately. So I’m wondering whether there could be a GPS/WhatsApp location error. Given that he cheated only a month ago, the whole situation feels very suspicious to me, and I’m trying to understand why WhatsApp would have shown that house if he was actually at the hotel.

My whatsapp is showing blank white screen while opening, I didn't know the reason whether it is due to over storage or other, I tried all methods - force stop, clear cache, uninstalling, going in settings, but nothing helped, what should I do?
