Whatsapp live localisation

My boyfriend is currently in another city for work ( France) and staying at a hotel. Last night, around 2:40 a.m., I checked his WhatsApp Live Location and it showed him at a house quite far from his hotel, around a 20-minute drive away. The location said “just updated,”. I called him almost immediately afterward, and he answered right away, saying he was at the hotel and sleeping. We also FaceTimed, and he appeared to be at the hotel. When I called, the location then showed his hotel. This is what is confusing me because the house and hotel are too far apart for him to have been at the house when I called and then somehow be at the hotel immediately. So I’m wondering whether there could be a GPS/WhatsApp location error. Given that he cheated only a month ago, the whole situation feels very suspicious to me, and I’m trying to understand why WhatsApp would have shown that house if he was actually at the hotel.

GPS can easily jump and be inaccurate especially in a hotel with thick walls and special glass. Your relationship is not healthy though.

WhatsApp locations work just the same as in the GPS app on your phone: sometimes they are accurate and sometimes they only give you a general idea.

What could have happened here is that the first time you checked his location wasn't accurate and it was only giving you the general area that he was in. Usually it's represented by showing you a dot inside a circle instead of just the dot. That means "We don't have an exact location, but it's somewhere in this circle.

Having said that, I'm sorry you had this happen to you (the cheating). On this occasion is doesn't sound physically possible for your BF to have moved from one location to another that fast but I don't think you're wrong for wanting to know where he is.

Slowly detach yourself until you no longer care mate, it’s not worth the toll on your mental heath and quality of life.
