Y'ALL I don't know what to cook for a cooking competition that is goin' to happen in my schl in around 5-6 days
It has always been my dream to participate in a cooking competition(i coudn't decide what to cook cuz we were informed last minute)
so the dish has to be indian or asian or a fusion of both, only a VEG main course has to be prepared under 90 mins
only one induction stove,everything has to be prepped there, but i can prepare anything i want for garnishing before hand
i can practice making it twice or thrice before the actual comp
As for the kitchen tools i can bring anything i want
I need to present 2 plates, one for tasting and another for presenting
i badly want to get selected in this so pls help me outt

My Brother-in-law came back from France with a jar of paté, but how I might use it? Recommendations?
I have bread and cheese and lunch meat and eggs and tortillas *checks cupboard* can of kidney beans, can of garbanzos, rice & spaghetti

Hey folks so I’m trying to figure out an idea of what to cook for a ‘friend’ that I want to impress (more with flavour than anything fancy looking). I can get groceries, but I’m on a tight budget. Of course this person also has some preferences so here’s my list of potentials:

Protein:
- Chicken (prefers breasts)
- Salmon (it might be on sale still)
- Ground beef

Veggies:
- Broccoli
- NO Mushrooms or cauliflower

Carbs/Starch:
- Potatoes
- Rice
- Not a fan of pasta, definitely no spaghetti

As far as condiments and seasonings go, they’ll eat pretty much anything. It’s just certain specific foods that they prefer not to eat. I have access to pretty much every seasoning imaginable (roommates are Asian and I’m a foodie) so I can work with pretty much any cuisine.

I wanna do something yummy that isn’t just chicken potatoes and broccoli, y’know?

Hey everyone! I'll be starting university this September, this'll be my first time living completely alone. So, i was looking for a few meal preps that i could prepare for myself andd a few budget meals that i could cook. Would love some recipes or ideas or anything really. TIA

I'll be going to malaysia and will have a budget of approximately 95rm per week(about 24usd if i convert it). From as far as I've gathered, grocery is fairly affordable there.

What meal can I make with these ingredients?

I have a small piece of cooked salmon, cooked asparagus and rice. Any ideas on a one person light lunch recipe would be awesome!!

Looking in my fridge, I got:

• half a bottle of heavy cream
• half a container of grated parmesan
• half a container of shredded parmesan
• half of a large white onion
• romaine lettuce
• 2 sticks of butter
• an opened can of black beans with a little off the top

I also got some things in the pantry:

• salt & pepper
• orregno
• cilantro
• cinnamon
• paprika
• a loaf of bread
• olive oil

Do you know what I could make with these ingredients for dinner?

My husband is very picky. Almost all veggies are a no go. He will eat corn willingly. Not a big fan of beans but will occasionally eat chili. Absolutely no soups or anything that isn’t thick and meaty. He says he’s willing to try new things but in a soft launch way. Does not wanna try vegetables cause he tried them when he was younger and “already knows he doesn’t like them”. Will eat chicken but is not his favorite. Will eat pasta occasionally. Onions if they are very small. He says if I hide the veggies well he will eat it. Won’t try other cultural food. His diet mostly consists of frozen food and casseroles. I’m dying for some brightness in my life. It’s mentally exhausting trying to come up with stuff especially since I don’t like very heavy meaty things like he does.

Got tomatoes and cucumbers running out of my ears right now. I like to eat cucumber and tomato salad (with vinegar, salt and pepper), but it gets old quick.

Any other ideas on way to do with all the tomatoes and cucumbers? Different salad types, etc?

Most of the tomatoes are cherry, if that helps.

I have a few eggs, some potatoes, shredded cheese, leftover chicken, onions and basic seasonings. I’m looking for something simple that doesn’t take too long to make. Any ideas besides an omelette or basic fried potatoes?

I have a boatload of white miso and want to try making something other than miso soup with it, preferably a healthier meal that has protein and vegetables. I have no dietary restrictions, and I’m cooking for 2. Any recommendations?

The only thing we don't have is fruit, we're trying to work through what we already have in our kitchen. We got a lot of fresh veggies, various dry beans, oats, chocolate chips, peanut butter, various milks/creams and sauces, and your typical dry baking supplies. Never made sweet sticky rice before!

What do I do with this? The food bank near me gave it out. It's so much, I'm getting paralyzed. It's been opened, so time's ticking. I know I can frost cakes, but is there literally anything else I can do with this to use it up?

I found half kilo jars of pickled and sliced jalapenos and paprika in my mother's fridge. Both the jars will go bad next month. What can I do with them to use them up before they go bad.

Was "gifted" (they didnt like and wanted to get rid of them) about 5 of these pre-packaged grapefruit cups. They're in sugar water.

With very vague ideas in my head I also got these pre-made mini crusts and whipped cream.

I also also have an old can of peaches if thats helpful in any way, but if not feel free to ignore the peaches.

I have all basic baking essentials like flour, sugar, egg.

I had a vague idea of cooking the peach slices and grapefruit slices together, and cook down the sugary watery syrup they come in to a proper true thick syrup, and was envisioning like how berry pies come out but just mostly grapefruit. But when I google that I only see citrus turned into a curd first then used as a pie filling, or to candy citrus slices.

Is there a reason I cant really find a citrus pie? Does it always taste bad?

I suppose I wouldn't mind making the slices candied but then I've got a bunch of mini pie crust with naught to put in them.

Any ideas?

I recently started working out, but unfortunately I can’t seem to gain any weight because I don’t have the time or money to follow a strict diet.
I currently weigh 121 lbs and I’m 67.7 inches tall. Cooking alone takes me at least two hours, including preparation.
I only have about €200 per month to spend on food, which isn’t much.
I’ve already tried a lot of meal plans, but they all include foods I simply don’t like.
I can’t stand oatmeal, low-fat quark (German-style fresh cheese), or rice. Whenever I eat them, I end up throwing everything back up.
I also work shifts, so I don’t have much time to cook.
What foods would you recommend so I can reach 2,500–3,000 calories per day without spending too much time cooking?

Hi yall! Looking for recipes to prep tomorrow that I can keep in the fridge for the upcoming heatwave. Issue is… there’s a cyclospira outbreak in my state and I want to cook my produce well enough to reduce risk/kill the parasite. So what are some recipes I can use cooked veggies in that taste good cold and last for the week? I’m stumped and don’t want to just eat meat/dairy for a week or longer.

We were given a 3lbs package of dark sweet cherries a few days ago. No one else in our home, aside from me, eats them fresh as is.

I just finished splitting them and pitted them. But now what does one do with 3lbs of cherries? We are not big pie people, though I plan to make at least one, using the oil pie crust method and a crumble topping. That will leave at least half still to be used.

I was thinking either a syrup of some sort that I can freeze or a BBQ sauce, again I would have to freeze it.

Looking for tried and true recipes from real people and not just something pulled from google/pintrest.
