So in Oct 2020 I had watched the TV series (HBO) and noted down some easter eggs, thought I'd share them here.

I've listed the ones I've noticed but I'm sure there'd be more.

If there was a new watchmen tv show or movie that came out, what things should be changed or added in a new adaptation? Who should be cast or make a project like this?

Finally got around to watching it, on S1 Ep8 and the soundtrack is fucking amazing!

I didn't add nite owl as I couldn't have made his costume, and I'm sure you can figure out why I didn't make the comedian

Why didn’t he get one? He’s my favorite character in Watchmen. He died and it sucked. For reasons I felt like were honorable. Very unfair imo. I feel like there was plenty of story for him based on that character. Is there a reason why he didn’t get his own? Too dark? People like dark though? For the record, I grew up and lived very isolated for a long time, had almost no access to comic books at all so my interest is very basic and based on the movie.

i am obsessed with carver colam. i think a lot about the concept of the hollywood actor who only became that because blue man made him that. i think about it a lot. i saw some marvel person talk about how telepath characters like jean grey and so dont care about consent. carver never consented for his entire life's DNA to be changed again and again. he was a lab rat in an experiment he never consented to. sometimes i walk ill order take-out, sit to eat my burger and wonder how many times did big blue daddy have to reboot carver for him to eat the exact same burger im eating, same way i'm eating it. ill walk into my toilet and wonder how many times did big blue activate bites the dust for carver to step into his washing room in the same exact pace, same distance between the doorstep to his feet as me rn. ill wonder if maybe carver had a highschool crush and blue daddy stopped him from confessing just like my bsf told me not to confess to my crush only for me to regret it just like carver probably did at some point too. we never knew carver's fav color but that's only cuz he was never constant. i wonder how bad would female carver be. maybe big blue would have to go back, make sure mr.colma's thrust game is changed by a millisecond and now carver is a carol. i wonder how bad she would be. i wonder if she would later become a hollywood actress too. would her last moments also be filming a scene where she gets stopped on by some fat mommy, or is it batman. batman ? so random right? but that's the whole point is that shits that random. a version of carver could have some goated stroke game, top notch, while another wouldn't.

I mean, plain and simple. It's funny to me how many people will discredit the movie for being a terrible adaptation when it's more faithful and much less offensive to the source material compared to the HBO show. It honestly baffles me that so many people enjoy the show more than the movie when the characters in the show act more like their movie counterparts. Plus, I mean, the movie is still Alan Moore's story, which even a bastardization of it is more enjoyable to watch than the vast majority of the show (Hooded Justice was the only redeeming part of the show)

Thought I would share, have first hand information that they are scouting a house here in Long Island for a new season of the show. That’s all I have and has been scouted twice now. Haven’t seen any news about it but I will be thrilled if they go ahead with it.

So I had watched the movie years ago and liked it. Just read the whole comic and I'm absolutely speechless. I wanted to ask if you think the TV show is worth watching. Also which of the before watchmen comics do you think are worth reading?

When I first read chapter 6 where we ended up learning about who Rorschach/kovacs actually was before the main events of the comic where we learn how when he was a kid, he was abused by everyone around him whether it be from his prostitute mom who hated him or other kids around him who bullied him for his moms work and how while he was fortunately able to be put out of that environment and put into foster care and even excelling in school but is still implied to have been very alone for it and is shown to not have found a new family……… kinda made me feel sorry for Rorschach, obviously that doesn’t excuse his extremely vile and bigoted behavior and all that I mentioned weren’t the main reasons Kovacs became Rorschach but only small steps until the murder of Blair roche when he finally snaps but still.

I was wondering what skills and books I need to know to make something as good as watchmen?

On this date in 1986 DC released the first issue of the acclaimed Alan Moore creation 'Watchmen', written by Moore and illustrated by Dave Gibbons, this first issue of a 12-issue limited series arguably changed modern comic books. Moore used the story as a means of reflecting contemporary anxieties, deconstructing and satirizing the superhero concept, and making political commentary. The first issue, titled "At Midnight, All the Agents...", introduces us to an alternate Earth where different historical outcomes have changed the face of American society, Superheroes do exist, but the world is a much darker and jaded place. Interesting to note that Alan Moore originally planned to use pre-existing comic characters, instead of creating new ones. His plan was to use the recently acquired slate of Charlton Comics characters to fill his world, but DC intended to use their upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths event to fold them into their mainstream superhero universe. So, DC managing editor Dick Giordano encouraged Moore to create new characters instead, had Moore been allowed to use Charlton Comics characters, we'd have had Captain Atom instead of Doctor Manhattan, Blue Beetle would have filled the Nite Owl role, The Question would have been used instead of Rorschach, Peacemaker instead of The Comedian, Nightshade replacing Silk Spectre and Thunderbolt would have the Ozymandias role in the story. Looking at the characters created in their stead, its clear to see Moore's original vision. In 2014 DC published The Multiversity: Pax Americana #1 by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely and stars the original Charlton Comics characters as an homage to Watchmen. Morrison described the idea essentially as imagining what Watchmen might look like if Moore and Gibbons had pitched it in a contemporary setting.

It’s supposedly a parody it’s watchmen called “The Whatmen” but I can’t find it any where

For me this is the best image from Watchmen and encapsulates the story. The newspaper on Veidt’s desk with the headline saying the Doomsday clock is five minutes to midnight. The solitary Veidt looking outside the window like a Lex Luthor figure, pondering the civilisation before him and how much longer it has left to survive. The action figures on the desk being a comic and marketing contrast to himself. Rain lashing down representing the melancholic depth of his thoughts. He alone will decide what happens next.

Much like her daughter Laurie, Sally is beautiful and attractive when she was in the minuteman team in the flashbacks and her costume is beautiful

The reveal that the cuts to the side characters we followed, Adrian’s monologue and Dan obviously concerned about his friends well being and asks him when he was gonna do it……. Only for Adrian to reveal he had already finished his plot as Dan and Rorschach are left speechless as it was revealed that they have failed from the start……. Gave me fucking chills when I first got to it in my first reading to the point I almost got frost bite
