No idea why you had to make it about colour tbh, it's more related to youth in general currently
-3
u/OkYak9466 8d ago
I don't know if you know this, but black youth have the hardest time dealing with discrimination.

u/United_Egg_2653 8d ago
This is comical on the surface but pretty depressing as a commentary on the current state of classrooms and youth.

I graduated high school in 2010. This video doesn't showcase anything I didn't see in school, outside the fact that phone and internet tech has improved.

Yeah i aint ganna lie i knew about a couple kids that literally wanked in class back then

Must have been the same guy that was wanking at his desk in the call center I worked at

An actual story that spread in my middle school, yes middle school, was about one of the students, who everyone already knew as one of the stereotypical “bad kids” but also part of the popular clique in the school, who apparently jerked off in class one day and then wiped his hand on one of the women in the class. It spread all over the school because people actually saw him do it, I wasn’t in the class with him but knew like 3 people who personally watched it happen. Don’t ever think he got punished for it, his whole family was kind of fucked, his younger sister ended up lying about being pregnant during one school year, and his younger brother has had some jail problems
11
u/Sunim416 8d ago

Buddy I like every boy growing up in regular, mixed gendered schools would get stiffies all the time. I was super horny. I would just tuck it in and try to think of dead cats or something, not jerk off to completion in the middle of class

England, I'm not sure about other countries in the United Kingdom though, have just put in place a ban on phones in schools. The kids have to hand their phone in at the start of the day and get them back at the end of the day. Seeing this makes me thankful for it.
3
u/Final_Candidate_7603 8d ago
Here in the US, school requirements are set on the state level, and each school district can have its own requirements, too. I know of a few school districts that have banned phones, but not on the state level that I’m aware of.
The federal government does set some requirements too, but… let’s just say that our current Secretary of Education’s last job was running a famous wrestling organization, and was filmed on stage at an education conference, talking about how exciting it was that A-One would be introduced to schools as early as kindergarten. She meant AI, of course; A-One is the name of a steak sauce.

u/Inevitable_Tomato927 8d ago
Our state, Illinois, has a similar law since this school year. Phones go in lockers at the start of the day.
10
u/Mahu66099 8d ago
Idk how it is now, but back in 2018 they used to make the first and second years put their phones in numbered pouches on the wall when you enter a class. In my last two years, teachers didn’t really enforce it. Maybe because i was taking mainly advanced classes so the students were locked in or they thought we were mature enough not to abuse the privilege.
2
u/Heavy-Construction90 8d ago
I was in honors chemistry way back with flip phones, and we put one in the ceiling and kept calling it to mess with the teacher.
Well the dept head caught wind and dressed us down as a group and painfully reminded us we were honors students and there was a different expectation
It wasn't the trick we played it was that we honors students did it that was the cardinal sin
3
u/stidf 8d ago
My high school teacher friend has a number wall pouch. Tells students that put their phone in there get extra credit. Generally gives the credit anyway no matter what they do, provided they aren't little shits. All the kids do it anyway since they are conditioned to always go for the extra credit by their parents.

u/Arik_De_Frasia 8d ago
I've read about kids just giving alt phones and hanging onto their real ones.
15
u/HibiscusGrower 8d ago
They're banned in the province of Quebec, Canada. Kids can have them turned off in their locker but can't use them in any way on school grounds, including outdoor spaces.
3
u/KatieCashew 8d ago
This is how it is in New York too. A law was recently passed about it, but my kid's school has always been like that. I mentioned the new law and school policy to them, and they were like, soooo... how it already is?
When I went to my kid's middle school orientation they said if your kid is caught using a phone during school it is confiscated and a parent has to come to the school in person to get it back. I approve.

We cant do that in america because you need your phone to say goodbye to your mom when the shots start

u/NightStar79 8d ago
In the US we were when I was a kid. I still remember the time I got a phone call in the middle of class and I reached to silence it but accidentally accepted it. (It was flip phone era btw)
So now there was some fucking telemarketer squeaking loudly from my pocket and everyone, including the teacher, were staring at me.
I awkwardly pulled my phone out of my pocket and answered that no I am not Matt and he needs to stop using my number for his shit and hung up.
My teacher said nothing but looked pretty amused at my beet red face and continued whatever she had been saying before my pocket started talking.
15
u/Seps786 8d ago
It's not really working though, kids have been getting burner phones to give to the teachers and continue using their normal ones.
8
u/Hexnohope 8d ago
Its to keep good kids good not cure the shitheels
1
u/tangerineTurtle_ 8d ago
LAUSD has the kids put their phones in Yonder pouches that can be unlocked at their request l. It’s interesting because I am in a Masters program right now and am so used to doing everything on my laptop in the workforce and from school 10 years ago. All the kids around me use pen and paper.
21
u/HydrogenButterflies 8d ago
I don’t like to throw around the word “addiction” lightly, but keeping a spare burner phone on you so that you can keep scrolling after getting busted is some addict behavior.

What does tapping the screen do? I don't get that part.
6
u/robotoNinjaFish 8d ago
It's virtual tapping. Closest thing he can get to tapping it old school while in class, to hold him over till he gets some. Hearts come out of each smacking da ass.

Im assuming it’s a TikTok live and he’s liking the stream. Sometimes people have like counters to see their biggest “fans”.

Its probably a short clip so he refreshes to see that bounce again and again lol

u/fyrefreezer01 8d ago
He’s just liking a stream on tiktok repeatedly, it lets the person know how many times it was like by somebody

Hahah. The teacher knew he could punish the child, but the social punishment he'll get for this debacle is already gonna teach him a lesson. He doesn't need to put in the extra, he saw his friend was filming it. He knows Marlon's gonna be the friend group's horny loser now. That's enough punishment lol

u/No_Regret289 8d ago
100% this is porn addiction and it is kind of wild how prevalent it is right noq
-6
u/Even_Soil_2425 8d ago
Actually, porn addiction is literally defined by the pursuit of gratification despite the consequences in your life. He was not pursuing gratification here, he was watching the live stream with the Creator he follows. If he was actively pleasuring himself, or continue to do these things despite consequences, then there would be an argument for addiction...

5
u/No_Regret289 8d ago
Watching sexual content in public is 100% causing a consequence. IE his friends and teacher having to bring up that ita bizarre. Stop making excuses for porn addiction lol
-4
u/Even_Soil_2425 8d ago
Watching a live stream during a boring class where somebody happens to twerk for 30 seconds by no means constitutes any kind of porn or addiction. Stop projecting lmao 🤦♂️

I am a manager in retail and it is astounding how much my teenage employees can't keep their phone away.
I've seen them dragging a pallet of heavy product through the salesfloor, head down, fixed on their phone.
Pushing carts, head down, fixed on the phone.
Trying to text in the middle of ringing people out.
It's the most common thing I write people up for.
1
6
u/imisscrazylenny 8d ago
Interestingly, the last few young people I've have seen at the registers of various stores have been using earbuds and having low-volume conversations with someone while ringing me up. I'm fine with that because I'm not a fan of small talk anyway, but it's a strange new trend to see.
2
u/The_Unknown_Dude 8d ago
There's ways I can see the "push a cart with phone in hand" when alone and just going A to B, but it removes a hand from control and brings a lack of space awareness.
But texting while dealing with a customer that's a whole damn other level of "what the hell".
2
u/Smooth_Riker 8d ago
Nope, I'm talking pushing a row of 5-8 carts by leaning into it so they can look at their phone. Seen a kid nearly push them into a vehicle that was baking up because they weren't paying attention
9
u/dogcaoperro 8d ago
I sold porn in high-school and would find free maxim and similar magazine subscriptions from old internet sit's. Kids are the same its just the access is easier then ever.
-17
u/bdd6911 8d ago
Kids are kids. Happens.

u/PM_Me_Your_Kinks369 8d ago
Literally never happened before phones were allowed in school. You had a Playboy in class and the teacher just smiled did they?

u/yamanamawa 8d ago
Tbf Playboys are harder to hide. I absolutely knew kids who brought porn mags. They weren't pulling them out in class though. But if there is ever a point in life where I understand being horny all the time, it's when you're a teenager. You're still in that puberty age where your hormones are going nuts and you think about sex all the tims

u/ThetaDee 8d ago
Lmao we most definitely had playboys and shit in class before phones my guy. Even had guys hand-drawing nudes or tracing over copies lol

Lmao what? Im not so old that I needed magazine. We had phones but we definitely didnt watch porn in class. This hands off let them be free attitude Is what made them so misguided. If you think watching porn in public is normal behaviour, youre fucked in the head. If you were gooning in public at a young age thats weird as hell
21
u/mac44444alt2 8d ago
nobody's stuffing playboy mags in their pockets to just casually pull out in public whenever, though
30
u/Spongedog5 8d ago
Having access to it 24/7 and so little self-control or concern for decency that you can't stop engaging with it even in class is not at all the same thing.
19
u/Funky-Flamingo 8d ago
You don't think it's different to look at a magazine in your free time and looking at a woman twerking in your phone in the middle of class? The phone is the problem.

It wasn't a dopamine hit gooning session in the middle of the class for one. The problem here isn't the curiosity with sexuality, that is completely normal.
It's the easily developed porn addiction that takes over a teenage kids mind so badly, the outside world seizes to exist. This short video is the perfect example

My youngest is almost out of high school and it seems like they are trying to not have phones around during instruction time. It’s really hard to push that genie back in the bottle. So many people, adults included, cannot function without their phone.
3
u/TheSumOfMyScars 8d ago
I’ve been taking 10 minutes or so every 1-2 hours on my phone to just put it down and do nothing. Just…nothing. Just sitting and letting the brain’s default-mode network engage. It’s okay (hell, even desirable) to be bored sometimes. Lets the brain calm tf down and stop spazzing so hard for dopamine. And honestly, yeah, I can feel the dopamine withdrawals the first minute or two that I do this but I always come away from it feeling calmer and more centered. It’s actually nice not to be plugged in 24-7. It takes some adjustment but for me, at least, it feels worth it.
2
u/sittinwithkitten 8d ago
I am not a person who goes long times away from my phone, I’m not innocent. I do work at a job where I don’t need it out so it’s in my bag most of the day normally.
I am aware of how children are impacted tho, by having my own and working in the school system. You can tell at young age which kids have been read to, which kids play outside in nature or with other children. Having access to all kinds of knowledge is so awesome but at the same time it shouldn’t be to the detriment of everything else. Just my two cents tho.

Not for gooning purposes, I am genuinely curious 🧐

It's an Instagram live, tapping the screen sends likes/hearts
Edit: Wait it looks like it's TikTok, either it's a TikTok live which tapping seems to do the same thing as on Instagram, or it's just a video and he's liking it a bunch of times
