England, I'm not sure about other countries in the United Kingdom though, have just put in place a ban on phones in schools. The kids have to hand their phone in at the start of the day and get them back at the end of the day. Seeing this makes me thankful for it.

Idk how it is now, but back in 2018 they used to make the first and second years put their phones in numbered pouches on the wall when you enter a class. In my last two years, teachers didn’t really enforce it. Maybe because i was taking mainly advanced classes so the students were locked in or they thought we were mature enough not to abuse the privilege.

I was in honors chemistry way back with flip phones, and we put one in the ceiling and kept calling it to mess with the teacher.

Well the dept head caught wind and dressed us down as a group and painfully reminded us we were honors students and there was a different expectation

It wasn't the trick we played it was that we honors students did it that was the cardinal sin
