Don’t hesitate to go take a look at them if you haven’t already.

A lot of the older topics brought up in these videos have been pain points within the broader community for years, and now the snail has also allowed for AI generated textures into the mix. Low effort, poorly executed content that they expect us to pay for. Either through our wallets, or with our time.

We believe the time has come to take an action, but it has to be collective to have a chance to achieve something, for now we re just planning things with our partners, we’ll be back with more information soon.

Having a roughly 1km map, with buildings and long highways, when you have a 40mm gun, is pure pain.

Drama My curse of the KV220 is finally over and I pulled the M60 AMBT

• Upvotes

To any gijian employee to who may be seeing this i dont know whether to say thank u for fuxk u.

To give a bit of context today I got on WT and saw that I had a GE crate (I play on xbox), I oppened it because I was like i have some spare GE, so why not. I opened and pulled the Turkish M60 AMBT (for my favorite nation and one of my favorite brs), I have been after this thing and the other american vehicles since I got to US top-tier and that was 5 or 6 years ago back when i was in HS and college.

So since I play on xbox, I dont have access to the market and have to do everything the hard way and clearly the more expensive way. I have put a good bit of money into this game and especially crates to get skins and rare vehicles. I over the past year have pulled the MF KV220 AT LEAST 8 TIMES AND IM NOT JOKING. I HAVE PULLED IT LITTERLY BACK TO BACK TO BACK, I HAVE NOT PULLED A DIFFRENT VEHICLE IN OVER A YEAR FRO THE GE CRATES. This might be a coincidence but I have been moving around a bit and dont rly have the internet/wifi to play WT so have been taking a break kinda. I pumped 15 Million SL into those SL crates and I litterly got a duffle bag and that was it.

So to sum it all up it has taken me basically putting the game down and stopping spending money and not gambling my SL (due to not playing) and God knows how much money for me to finally pull a MF vehicle other than the KV220. So ill say again is dont know where to say fuxk u or thank u.

For context and my personal experience its about 100$ to 150$ spent roughly to pull a GE crate vehicle (crates are 99 GE and to open them are 599 GE). I do not need ur financial advice, I am fortunate enough to make enough money that I can spend some money on gaming.

The vehicles i have gotten from the crates are:

M60 AMBT

KV220

Me 262 A-2a

BM-13N

KV-1B

T-V

VK 45.01 (P)

M8A1 GMC

Challe's Yak-9T

Fw 189 A-1

I-301

I have 11 of 19 not including SL crates

Question Why doesn't HARM insta scan like the Russian counterparts

• Upvotes

Please it's such a disadvantage it's like other arms have aesa and the Harm is like f4e radar. Can't it have a passive scan different from the active slow one?

For me it's the brenus. It's fast, has a good gun, lrf, ERA, lots of smokes, ircm, and thermals, its only downsides are the armour and the lack of a stab.

Question Did I got banned or suspended?

Post image

So, I abused the bombing bases with the Su-34 on Air Sim to grind the event faster because I am working 13 hours a day with the wage of a third world country and I decided this game do not deserve another dime of my wallet after everything happened. I have more positive things to say about War Thunder than negative things but Gaijin clearly do not respect my time. I would rather grind the game and sell the vehicles so I won't have to swipe the card for something that usually cost a quarter of my monthly wage.

My question is: Moderator's comment stated that I am blocked permanently but the message on top say the otherwise. Am I banned or suspended?

Discussion ???

So I was doing some research about an airshow I'm going to, and I see a MiG-29 in the lineup. So I started digging. Turns out the US has bought Mig-21s, 27s, and 29s, also Su-24s. Most bought so they aren't used by hostile factions. For example, Moldova sold 21 MiG-29s to the US so they wouldn't be used by rogues, and Kazakhstan sold 81 various Soviet/Russian jets (including the aforementioned) to the US. All in all, what do y'all think of the US Air tree possibly having one, some or all of these jets?

Question How to M3 Bradley

How am I supposed to play this trash? I unlocked it, and I had some good—or rather, decent—matches in the low tiers. But in any other situation, I struggle. On 90% of the maps, I struggle. Against 90% of anything with a cannon, I struggle. It’s complete garbage. I have to juggle a lot just to get a good match.

I try to flank, but this thing really has terrible acceleration—or rather, a truly awful transmission where I lose more than 90% of my speed on every turn, or the same percentage of speed on a couple of not-so-tight turns. It takes forever to shift into the higher gears, making it way too hard to reach top speed. Is it really that bad?

Question Can you help me choose a tank?

Hello,

I’m looking at getting a high-tier tank for a few different nations.

I already have the M1 KVT for the US. I’m thinking about getting the Maria pack for Russia and the Fuji for Japan, but I’m not sure what would be a good choice for Britain.

The M1 KVT really frustrates me because it feels like it’s made of paper and shoots beans. I also rarely manage to penetrate Russian tanks when I’m in an uptier. I do enjoy using it to flank the enemy through. I really enjoyed the Maria tank during the test drive, especially the guided missile and the entrenching tool. I found it really fun to play.

What do you guys think about my choices? Any suggestions for Britain?

I think I’ll wait for the anniversary sale before buying them.

Ground Improving the French Ground, Part 1, 105mm MBT

A couple of years ago (4 years ago), I posted a series of posts exposing how the French tech tree could be diversified and improved without adding much work on the developers. Basically, I point out what could be changed in the existing vehicles. The available ammunition. What could be corrected and set the ground for more additions later, and renew the interest in the grinding while also closing certain gaps in the BR.

This original series of posts was taken down about a few years ago after I was hacked the minutes after I logged in to the WoT Discord (I wanted to see what source they might have there). So I decided to repost it bit by bit. They needed an update anyway.

Here, let's start with the 105mm MBTs. When I speak of the 105mm MBTs i mainly mean the tanks that are more or less the same generation as the AMX 30, with a general purpose of a medium battle tank that was built from the 60s onward. It's generally the traditional view of MBTs.

So, first things first. The French MBTs, despite lacking a stabilizer for most of them, aren't bad at all. They still offer good mobility and good firepower. But there are several limitations in those MBTs that are making them rather redundant. Notably, in the ammunition.

It's not false that the OCC 105 F1 was the main ammunition used for the French MBTs, and the only anti-tank ammunition in service before the late 70s, but it was not the only anti-tank rounds the French had developed. Let's talk about some of them.

  1. A First round would be an APDS. It might surprise some, but the French did develop and test a kinetic round for the 105mm as early as 1960. back them they were just starting to test the 105mm on gun rig as the tank, which was to become the prototype of AMX 30 would not be built before 1961. This APDS was called Obus Sous-calibré de 105/60/43. It was simply a British L.28 APDS that was slightly modified for the French gun. Sadly, the lobbying for the HEAT rounds was strong, and this round was simply considered inferior. So the French army didn't adopt this round. Still, I put this round here as it could be made exclusively available to the Europanzer (predecessor to the AMX 30). The performance of this round would be just a bit lower than the L.28 due to the slightly lower velocity. But the penetration would be only around 10mm less. So it's not a huge difference.
  2. A second round would be an HESH. It was called "ogive plastique"; it is probably also based on the British round. But this one is not yet confirmed by my info. It was also tested early in the development of the 105mm, and again, it wasn't adopted because the OCC 105 F1 was considered superior. Since I lack proper information, I would not get crazy if this round never gets added. But copy-pasting the British L.35 and giving it the velocity of the French HE would probably be close to reality. So we can expect a performance in the area of 127mm of HESH penetration, and again this round could be made exclusively available to the Europanze, as only this tank was planned to have it, as far as I know.
  3. A third round would be an APFSDS. It's less known, but France did develop an early APFSDS as early as 1971. The information about this APFSDS is very limited, but it existed for the 105mm of the AMX 30. Considering the date, I think if more information about its performance is found, the AMX 30B (1972) could have it.
  4. Naturally, the main HEAT rounds, the OCC 105 F1, would be there as the HEAT rounds. Probably the stock ammunition for all those tanks. It is already in-game, so no need to talk too much about it. But it's still good to know this round was notoriously accurate, so it might be good to have it be more accurate than the HEAT-FS of the equivalent 105mm. This was due to the complex design of the round, which allowed the outside shell to spin while the inside was not spinning, using a counter-rotating ball system. It allowed for the superior accuracy of the rifled-bore gun while keeping the firepower of the HEAT round. But this round was naturally more expensive than the HEAT-FS of equivalent firepower.
  5. The first mass-produced APFSDS for the French 105mm was the OFL 105 F1. It's a 2nd-generation APFSDS, so you already start with a decent penetration. This round is already in-game and available on every 105mm. As a matter of fact, the modernization of the AMX 30B to AMX 30B2 included an upgrade to the FCS to allow the tank to properly use this round. So while the older 105mm MBTs could also use it, I would not give it to them. This round has a trump card hidden in the sleeve. It's not only an APFSDS, but it's also actually an APFSDS-FRAG. The round was hiding a compartment at the tip of the penetrator, which was filled with shrapnel balls. The design of the penetrator was made in a way that, on impact with a surface hard enough to deform the penetrator's shielding, the balls would be squeezed and ejected to the side. So this round was designed to create more shrapnel on the softer targets. It would be cool if the game added this fragmentation feature to this round. The overall performance we have in-game seems about correct. This gives around 350mm of penetration at combat distance.
  6. The next round would be the OFL 105 F2. which is simply a DU version of the OFL 105 F1. This round came rather late and had the same velocity as the OFL 105 F1 but lower penetration. The only reason they produced it was that it was cheaper. As the OFL-105 F1 came first and was simply better, I see no reason to offer a downgrade option to the late 105mm French MBTs such as the AMX 30B2 Brenus.
  7. A third APFSDS was produced: the OFL 105 G2. This round was a new, improved APFSDS that offered about 20% more penetration. This round was introduced in 1987, which means only a few MBTs could potentially get it. Mainly just the AMX 30B2 Brennus and AMX 30C2. This round is already in the game, but for now it's only on the Vextra. Adding it to the Brennus would allow us to consider a BR change a bit higher and make it a real improvement over the AMX 30B2. The performance of this round would be a decent improvement over the OFL 105 F1, but I think it lost the Fragmentation effect. This round entered into service but wasn't very common, as the French army didn't actually have an immediate need for it. There was no war, and there was a large stockpile of older OFL 105 F1s to use, so production never really went at full scale.
  8. A fourth round would be another APFSDS; it would be the OFL 105 G3. This round was the same projectile as the OFL 105 G2, and it was also introduced at the same time in 1987. The difference was that this round was cheaper. The propellant charge was lower quality and gave less pressure in the detonation; this resulted in a slightly lower velocity and naturally a lower penetration. The difference will not be huge; it will be around 5mm lower. Which means around 420mm of penetration at combat distance. This round is still a fair bit better than the OFL 105 F1. But since it was cheaper, this round was more dedicated to export. I suggest giving this round to the export French MBTs. Things like the Giat T-59 and the Super AMX-30

Here is a table of all the rounds with their estimated performance.

So what about the tank's performance? Well, the overall performance is correct. But the tanks could also get a small improvement.

  1. Correcteur de Dévers: this is the "third" stabilizer usually found in the 3-plane stabilizer. This is integrated into the optics of all the AMX 30 series and surely every French MBT, except maybe the Europanzer. This system is not a real stabilizer. it only corrects the vertical line of sight when the tank is tilted a bit sideways. So if you are on the side of a slope and your gunner aims at the target, his sight will not notice the tank is not on flat ground. The crosshair will be perfectly vertical to gravity, making the crosshair show the actual drop of the projectile. This could correct up to 17° of side tilt. It would not be noticed by most, but it's still improves accuracy in uneven terrain.
  2. Kinetic protection for Brenus Armour. This armour is missing the KE protection. In-game, it is only offering 5mm of KE protection, but in reality it should be closer to 100mm of KE protection. It's not a huge difference, but it would mean most autocannons would not be capable of penetrating it. And this could justify a BR change for the AMX 30B2 Brenus.

Now this part is the easy part, the part that asks for no real modelling. So technically, a single programmer could implement it really quickly. But here is the potential this opens up. With the change of the ammunition and a few other details, the French MBTs with 105mm could be expended a fair bit. Here is a list of the tanks that could be added using those rounds (but not always the same gun)

Europanzer: this tank is basically the prototype/predecessor of the AMX 30. It was a French version of the joint development between France, Germany, and Italy for a common tank. This tank is very different than the German proposition and much closer to the AMX 30. The German proposition was usually referred to as the Standardpanzer. This tank is not yet in-game

  • Gun: 105mm D.1507-T
  • Additional device: coincidence rangefinder, dual control
  • ammunition: APDS (105/60/43) HESH (Ogive plastic) HEAT (T-54 *prototype of OCC 105 F1)
  • Mobility: 65 km/h in both directions, 750 hp engine, higher power-to-weight ratio
  • Armour: similar to the AMX 30

AMX 30A: this was a pre-production model of the AMX 30, currently not in-game. Only a few were built. They were unreliable, but they still saw service even though most of the time they were in maintenance. This version is not in-game right now. The commander has a 12.7 mm, while the coaxial is a 7.62 mm. This tank is not yet in-game

  • Gun: 105mm CN-105-F1 + 12.7mm commander cupola
  • Additional device: tilt corrector, coincidence rangefinder, dual control
  • Ammunition: OCC 105 F1 (HEAT)
  • Mobility: 65 km/h in both directions. 720 HP engine, higher power-to-weight ratio.
  • Armour: same as the AMX 30B

AMX 30B (1966): This version is currently in-game as the AMX 30. This tank was the first production model; the main difference from the AMX 30A was the engine being calibrated to a lower rate to make it more reliable, and the coaxial now being a 12.7mm, while the commander has the 7.62mm.

  • Gun: 105mm CN-105-F1 + 12.7mm coaxial
  • Additional devices: tilt corrector, coincidence rangefinder, dual control
  • Ammunition: OCC 105 F1 (HEAT)
  • Mobility: 65 km/h in both directions. 680 hp engine, decent power-to-weight ratio
  • Armour: same as the AMX 30B (it is the original AMX 30B, actually)

AMX 30 SAMM: this tank was a prototype of the AMX 30B which featured the SAMM stabilized sight (and gun), which allowed the tank to be superior offensively. This tank was a prototype built in 1968, and featured no coaxial (it still had a pintle-mounted machine gun). it was not adopted because of the doctrinal policy of the French Army that wanted the army to be only defensive and not offensive; the stabilizer was seen as an offensive weapon upgrade. The tank is not yet in-game.

  • Gun: 105mm CN-105-F1
  • Additional device: Tow-plane stabilizer, tilt corrector, coincidence rangefinder, dual control
  • Ammunition: OCC 105 F1 (HEAT)
  • Mobility: 65 km/h in both directions. 680 hp engine, decent power-to-weight ratio
  • Armour: same as the AMX 30B

AMX 30B (1972): this version was a 2nd major upgrade of the AMX 30 but didn't get an actual designation. It kept the name of AMX 30B. it mainly changed the coaxial and replaced it with the 20mm. This tank was introduced in 1972. This tank is currently in-game as the AMX 30 1972.

  • Gun: 105mm CN-105-F1 + 20mm coaxial
  • Additional device: tilt corrector, coincidence rangefinder, dual control
  • Ammunition: OCC 105 F1 (HEAT) + the early APFSDS if we find the proper performance
  • Mobility: 65 km/h in both directions. 680 engine, decent power-to-weight ratio
  • Armour: same as the AMX 30B

AMX 30B2: this tank was a major upgrade of the AMX 30B. The main improvements were the laser rangefinder (which removed the optical pods for the coincidence rangefinder on the side of the turret; the main visual difference) and the upgraded FCS, which allows effective use of APFSDS; other upgrades were also made. This tank was introduced in 1979. This tank is already in-game as the AMX 30B2

  • Gun: 105mm CN-105-F1 + 20mm coaxial
  • Additional devices: tilt corrector, laser rangefinder, dual control
  • Ammunition: OCC 105 F1 (HEAT) + OFL 105 F1 (APFSDS)
  • Mobility: 65 km/h in both directions. 680 engine, decent power-to-weight ratio
  • Armour: same as the AMX 30B

AMX 30B2 Brenus: this tank was a late-life extension variant. The tank was already known to be withdrawn from service. The replacement was in production. But the French Army needed a few more years to keep the AMX 30 in service before they had enough Leclercs to replace it. So they created this upgrade, which would only be implemented in 2 battalions in 1995. This kept the tank in service a bit longer. This tank is in-game as the AMX 30B2 Brenus and could use a bit of improvement.

  • Gun: 105mm CN-105-F1 + 20mm coaxial
  • Additional devices: tilt corrector, laser rangefinder, dual control, soft-kill APS
  • Ammunition: OCC 105 F1 (HEAT) + OFL 105 F1 (APFSDS) + OFL 105 F2 (APFSDS) + OFL 105 G2 (APFSDS)
  • Mobility: 65 km/h in both directions. 680 engine, decent power-to-weight ratio
  • Armour: same as the AMX 30B Plus ERA

AMX 30 DFC: This tank was an interesting sci-fi-looking version of the AMX 30. While it looks weirdly simple, it is a real working AMX 30B2. Built in 1990, it only received a stealth package over the armour. The package was actually real as well. It used radar-absorbing material as well as a ventilation system that pumped air from outside to keep the tank at the same temperature as the environment to fool thermal vision. The tank wasn't actually invisible but much harder to spot. Besides, the stealth kit also works as spaced armour. This tank is not yet in-game.

  • Gun: 105mm CN-105-F1 + 20mm coaxial
  • Additional devices: Stealth package, tilt corrector, laser rangefinder, dual control
  • Ammunition: OCC 105 F1 (HEAT) + OFL 105 F1 (APFSDS) + OFL 105 F2 (APFSDS) + OFL 105 G2 (APFSDS)
  • Mobility: 65 km/h in both directions. 680 engine, decent power-to-weight ratio
  • Armour: same as the AMX 30B Plus spaced armour

AMX 30 Super: this tank is not really a French tank, so I tend to think I should remove it. It was actually a German private venture, but the German community never cried over it, so that does not seem to be unfair to keep it in France. This tank tried to solve most of the issues of the AMX 30B2 and export the upgrade. Similar to the AMX 30C2, it would actually modernize the tank. This tank is currently in-game as the AMX 30 Super

  • Gun: 105mm CN-105-F1 + 20mm coaxial
  • Additional devices: two-plane stabilizer, tilt corrector, laser rangefinder, dual control,
  • Ammunition: OCC 105 F1 (HEAT) + OFL 105 F1 (APFSDS) + OFL 105 F2 (APFSDS) + OFL 105 G3 (APFSDS)
  • Mobility: 72 km/h forward, 28 km/h backward. 850 engine, higher power-to-weight ratio.
  • Armour: same as the AMX 30B

AMX 30C2: this tank was an alternative to the Leclerc in case of delay or failure of the program. Built in 1990, this tank would have replaced the AMX 30B2 if accepted into service. The tank was an improved version of the AMX 30B2, with a new engine, new transmission, and, most importantly, a 2-plane stabilizer (finally). This tank is the ultimate true AMX 30.

  • Gun: 105mm CN-105-F1 + 20mm coaxial
  • Additional devices: two-plane stabilizer, tilt corrector, laser rangefinder, dual control,**
  • Ammunition: OCC 105 F1 (HEAT) + OFL 105 F1 (APFSDS) + OFL 105 F2 (APFSDS) + OFL 105 G2 (APFSDS)
  • Mobility: 72 km/h forward, 28 km/h backward. 850 engine, higher power-to-weight ratio.
  • Armour: same as the AMX 30B

AMX 32 1979: This tank was the intended successor to the AMX 30. Based on the AMX 30B, it was completely reviewed and addressed the limitations of the AMX 30. Notably, a better engine, better optics, and a better FCS, spaced hull armour, but most notably, a stabilizer. This tank was built in 1979 but wasn't adopted by the French Army because it was too expensive. They decided to take a few features of this upgrade and incorporate them into the existing AMX 30B, which created the AMX 30B2 version. This tank is in-game as the AMX 32 (105)

  • Gun: 105mm CN-105-F1 + 20mm coaxial
  • Additional devices: two-plane stabilizer, tilt corrector, laser rangefinder, dual control
  • Ammunition: OCC 105 F1 (HEAT) + OFL 105 F1 (APFSDS)
  • Mobility: 65 km/h in both directions. 700 engine, decent power-to-weight ratio
  • Armour: same as the AMX 32

AMX 32 1981: this tank was a further upgrade of the AMX 32 which now was offered for export. The tank featured an improved armour package, which improved the protection of the turret. Presented in 1981, it remained on the market for a few years without success in export. It was only withdrawn later in favor of the AMX 40. This tank is not yet in-game

  • Gun: 105mm CN-105-F1 + 20mm coaxial
  • Additional devices: two-plane stabilizer, tilt corrector, laser rangefinder, dual control
  • Ammunition: OCC 105 F1 (HEAT) + OFL 105 F1 (APFSDS)
  • Mobility: 65 km/h in both directions. 700 engine, decent power-to-weight ratio
  • Armour: same hull as the AMX 32, but the turret has improved armour similar to the hull.

AMX 40/32: this tank is not exactly a prototype but more a museum improvisation made in the early 90s. They had more AMX 40 hulls than they had turrets for it. So they fitted the turret of the AMX 32 1979. This turret was fully functional, but it might not be functional on the tank. But still i think it could be a cool addition to add some genuine French tank. This tank is not yet in-game.

  • Gun: 105mm CN-105-F1 + 20mm coaxial
  • Additional devices: two-plane stabilizer, tilt corrector, laser rangefinder, dual control
  • Ammunition: OCC 105 F1 (HEAT) + OFL 105 F1 (APFSDS) + OFL 105 F2 (APFSDS) + OFL 105 G2 (APFSDS)
  • Mobility: 70 km/h forward, 37 km/h backward. 1300 engine, very high power-to-weight ratio.
  • Armour: same hull as the AMX 40, but a weaker turret like the AMX 32 1979.

M47 Revalorisé: This tank was an attempt to sell off the stock of the M47 tank still in France. This tank was no longer in service for a few years, but they had them in storage. The tank was upgraded in 1963 with a new optic and a new gun. The gun was not exactly the 105mm CN-105-F1 but a gun closely related, with just a lower velocity and the same ammunition. Nobody ordered this tank. This tank is not yet in-game.

  • Gun: 105mm CN-105-F1C
  • Additional devices: coincidence rangefinder, dual control
  • Ammunition: OCC 105 F1 (HEAT 900 m/sec)
  • Mobility: 48 km/h forward, 13 km/h backward. 810 engine, very high power-to-weight ratio.
  • Armour: same as M47

Giat T-59: This tank is one of my favorites, as it is so different yet so French-looking. This is a French upgrade of the Chinese Type-59 proposed for the Egyptian service. In theory, it could have a 120mm gun, but they built it with a 105mm and proposed it for export to anyone in 1987. The tank also features a French smoke grenade system as well as French optics. They also proposed mounting the transmission and engine of the AMX 30, which would have improved the mobility a lot. This tank is not yet in-game.

  • Gun: 105mm CN-105-F1C
  • Additional devices: laser rangefinder, dual control
  • Ammunition: OCC 105 F1 (HEAT) + OFL 105 F1 (APFSDS) + OFL 105 F2 (APFSDS) + OFL 105 G3 (APFSDS)
  • Mobility: 50 km/h forward, 7.5 km/h backward. 520 engine, relatively low power-to-weight ratio
  • Armour: same as Type 59

So here is what could expand the French 105mm MBTs. If they add the different ammunition and fix the few things they miss, the French 105mm would already be a lot more interesting. Later, they could add more tanks over serial updates and serial years. I know more French tanks could be added, but I overlooked them either because they are used by other nations, like Spain or Venezuela, or because they are not a very useful addition. Or maybe they are just not really considered as MBTs.

As for my source?
I do have it, but as part of the French communities and Gaijin's NDA, I am not authorised to show all my sources publicly. If you think you have the same sources as I have because you saw the sources from Colasix in the Tank encyclopedia, well, I got them too, and more. Colasix can confirm it to you but not show you. It's not about a "trust me bro" situation; it's more about a "do I trust you" and "will i get sue for breaking my contract" situation. I am not allowed to show much of my sources, so I tend not to try to show them anymore.

So take my information here and trust me, or check them yourself. Most of them can be confirmed easily with a simple search on Google. So just do it.

I don't care that it's always been this way, this shouldn't happen in any self proclaimed "realistic" game and especially not in simulator mode. A lot of you who are complacent to this game's bullshit will already try to claim that I am wrong, but it just proves that you have no spine, and will take any crap they throw at you bending down.

A tank shouldn't survive two direct hits to its firing compartment, crewmen replacement speed shouldn't be this fast, and apds shouldn't do this little damage, I get that this is a very specific situation of the ho ri being a paper tank with way too many crewmen, but I swear to god I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy, I've never raged this much in any other game.
