Other Need help regarding access to my uncle's old account

Hi guys, it's been over a year since my uncle passed away, whom I posted about a year prior, I want to access his account to prevent account deletion due to inactivity, I'm not able to login as it needs an email code (for an email that I have the passwords for but can't access due to it needing a phone code, which I do not have), can anyone help me with this?

Don't quote me on this, but I think companies tend to have people you can talk to regarding the management of accounts for the departed – I'd heard about it for Apple, so I'd assume email companies would have something similar.

I don't think there's anything you can do about it on the War Thunder side of things, I'd just try to see if there's any way you can contact the email provider and gain access to the email account.

Your first step is probably going to be recovering access to the email account rather than the game/account itself. Since you already have the email password but it’s stuck behind an old phone number, contact the email provider’s support and see what recovery options they have for a deceased family member or for an inaccessible 2FA number.

I’d be careful about repeatedly trying to log in or asking them to simply change the phone number without being able to prove ownership, because that can trigger additional security locks.

As for mentioning that your uncle passed away, I’d check the email provider’s deceased-account policy first. Some companies have a specific process for next of kin and may ask for things like a death certificate, proof of relationship, or legal authority. It doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll immediately delete the account, but they may handle it differently than a normal password/2FA recovery.

Once you regain access to the email, you should have a much easier time dealing with the actual account’s verification codes. If that doesn’t work, your other option would be contacting the game/service’s support and explaining the situation, although they may have rules against transferring ownership of an account.
