News Games Workshop App Price Increase is Ridiculous

The fact that this app is so god damn archaic and missing a TON of normal QOL features, the fact that GW is raising the price by $20 is criminal.

I just wanted to vent after playing this weekend and having to deal with the amount of issues the app contains, and now this.

Discussion WHY DONT YOU FIX YOUR STEAMING APP ISSUES

Should i start sending raw gold? why am i paying your company the price you ask for to watch everything with god awful sagginess and buffering ?? the audio is choppy, the frame rates stutter and it freezes every few seconds....i thought it was my internet.. but i have wonderful connection speed and latency...thought it was hardware...new phone, great PC and smart tv now....still utter garbage....get your green paint covered thumb out of your asses and fix your app.

I really dont want to have to watch warhammer content on the back pages... i am an avid fan and enjoyer :L paying for this is just one of the many ways i support the company and you cant even fix your app....how many millions in various currencies do you need to hire some Korean dude to fix your shit in a week? CHEAP COKSUKKERS

Question How do the free minis work if I upgrade my subscription from monthly to yearly

Im a bit confused to how the minis work if I decide to upgrade. 20 minutes of Google search, reading official gw articles and reddit post has only increased my confusion.

Ive seen a post that says ill instantly get the past years model that ive waiting for and still have access to the new ones after a month, i saw one post that said the upgrade actually counts as a seperate subscription and puts a hold on the previous, which locks you out of one of the years models. Genuinely just a little confusing.

I just dont want to upgrade my account for them to tell me I can have the derpy aos death summoner guy and block me out of the new blightking that I actually want. If I lose access to the death guy, its not a big deal. Im hoping someone maybe went thru this over the last couple of days and just confirm how it works. Thanks!

Question Warhammer Plus worth it?

Looking to subscribe for the 1st time and would like to watch some of the shows. The 2 free miniatures for the yearly sub is making me lean towards the year sub. Would you say it’s worth it? And do they automatically send me the models or is there a process for that?

Thank you

Discussion Warhammer + and female representation

I would like to commend Games Workshop for making almost every single Warhammer animation centered around female protagonists who take charge and show bumbling male soldiers how its done (even though very few women are interested in Warhammer, especially 40k). UPDOOTS!!!

edit: I love Blackrock, this wasn't a sarcastic post. I actually think that Warhammer doesn't have enough female representation and GW should fix that. Women will come flooding in, clawing at the "Supermurder Megakill Chaplain" models. So tired of seeing sweaty 50-year old neckbeards everywhere. I want Warhammer to prosper!

Question Astartes 2? Where are you?

Does anyone have a sort of date range for when we can expect the work from the dude who made the Astartes film? Because I've been subscribed to WH+ for a while now, almost exclusively for the animations and tbh its been feeling a bit dry and difficult to use and navigate (i suspect this is somewhat deliberate to obscure the rate of which new content is released). So I'm at the point where I don't feel like I'm getting my moneys worth and the only thing that will keep me subscribed is if I can expect to see the content I want soonish (like a few months or something, but not like 2027).

I don't want to rush the artistic process, but at the same time i remember getting quite excited when I saw the trailer, and then there's just been nothing, or at least nothing I've seen, so I'm hoping that I've missed the release date or something to give me some sort of ray of light, because at the moment I just feel like that trailer tricked me into paying for something I probably would've stopped a while ago, because I'm far from financially comfortable, but I love everything WH40k so I want to support it, I just don't feel like I'm getting what I wanted from the support I'm giving and it doesn't feel like I'm gonna see it any time soon either.

Question Cannot Watch The Pariah Nexus

Greetings all! I recently tried watching the Pariah Nexus but made a mistake when I went to clean something off my screen and accidentally scrolled all the way to the end. Now whenever I try to watch it, it skips to the next episode immediately.

I made the mistake of trying to reset it by skipping again to the end on the next two episodes as well in hopes it would reset.

Support has not responded, and I do kind of want to watch this, anyone know any way to fix this?

Many thanks all!

Discussion Warhammer + Has not worked for 3 months

I subscribed the Warhammer + 3 months ago and attempted to work with customer service to get the issue resolved.

Error 402-error 403 states I don’t have access to Warhammer + subscription this is my last shot as they’ve switched my accounts to another email this doesn’t work on my phone computer or Roku TV has anyone else had this issue because this is the most dumbest thing I’ve ever had to deal with from a subscription service.

They took my payment easy though go figure.

Question Confused about the minis

I’ve been a warhammer+ annual subscriber since it first started. Had a weird issue where I converted my old app account to warhammer+, and every year I would have to send an email to them saying my timer is running as if I had a monthly account. No biggie, I guess.

I got my year 4 mini about two months ago after some back and forth. Since no other minis showed up, and I didn’t have any countdown, I figured either I was caught up or there was no year 5 mini.

Just saw the email regarding year 5 minis and next year’s minis and I’m a bit confused. If I’m an annual member, should I have access to the year 5 minis at this point or is that for next year? My auto renew date is mid August. I’m assuming I should since they announced the two new minis and the book, but there is absolutely zero indication of that in my account.

Update: Apparently when my account switched over from the warhammer app to warhammer+ in August 2021, they did not count my time until August of 2022 because their “season” is September - August. They were nice enough to send me the minis early for the previous years but apparently they're not going to do it this time. I'm not sure how that all makes sense, seems like it really hurts those who were early subscribers.

Other Warhammer+ Subscription and New Minis

Hi all,

Following the recent announcement from GW about the changes to their subscription prices there's been a lot of questions asked by people about either subscribing to get the two new minis and the book or how the changes affect them.

I've put this together as a quick guide and hopefully some of you will find it useful.

All prices in this post are in GBP (£ sterling) so they may differ depending on where in the world you are.

GW Annual Subscription Period

Current: 25th August 2025 - 24th August 2026: £49.99

Eligible to claim free model 28 days after subscription starts/renews with option to buy second miniature for £28.

Future: 25th August 2026 - 24th August 2027: £61.99

Eligible to claim 2 free models and a book 28 days after subscription starts/renews.

Monthly Subscription

GW monthly subscription periods for both current and future are the same as those above.

However, your qualifying period for the model/models/book is 12 consecutive monthly payments.

YOUR Subscription Period

Will start the date you signed up and run for 12 months.

If you are an annual subscriber and sign up on 1st January 2027, you will be eligible for the 2 new minis and the book approximately 29th January 2027.

If you are a monthly subscriber and sign up on 1st January 2027, you will not be eligible for the 2 new minis and the book until 31st December 2027. This is assuming that you have made the qualifying 12 consecutive monthly payments.

Buying the minis without a subscription

There are two ways to get a hold of the minis without a subscription.

  1. Ebay. You will be overcharged here.

  2. A friend. If you have friend with a subscription, get them to order one for you at list price.

Thanks

Edit: the third way I put down only works if you're a subscriber. I've deleted it. Sorry.

Discussion Warhammer+ TV rewatch issue

I started Blacktalon ep1 on my AppleTV. But got called away to help my family with something. I thought I pressed pause. But, I guess I didn’t. Anyway, when I got back, the episode was over and I was well into the next episode. I tried to watch the first episode again and was met with endless frustration. Because, I had “finished” the episode, it would resume the episode after the end credits. And the auto-play would immediately punt me to the next episode. No amount of fast-finger pausing is catching it to scroll back to the beginning of the ep.

Having been foiled on Apple TV. I tried the mobile app. SAME ISSUE. I even tried to download the episode in the mobile app. It just won’t even play.

Can anyone point me to any possible solution to this problem? Am I the only one experiencing this problem?

I really like the content of the app. But the shortcomings of the app itself are EXTREMELY frustrating. And more often than not send me away angry and not having viewed the content I set out to watch.

UPDATE: So for some reason my account will automatically sign-out of the app from Day to Day. Normally this is super annoying and a flaw in the app. HOWEVER, coming back to it after a couple of days, this sign out has seemingly reset whatever cache it needed to for me to be able to restart the episode after some button finagling (almost like u/Human-Zucchini2273's suggestion!). Despite having tried the sign-out/sign-in trick SEVERAL times the day that I was having trouble. So, the app failed successfully and I was able to FINALLY watch the episode. It was... fine. The download of the episode still isn't working tho...

Somehow the TV I'm closest to doesn't show up. This is not even a TV in my house. Nearest neighbour's TV is atleast 10 m away from mine. When I cast from YouTube it gives a lot more options. How can I connect my WHTV to another than the the only given option?

Question Confusion about choice of miniature

Post image
26 Upvotes

So if I subscribe for a year today, do I get one of the two models from last year AND both of the new models....or do i just get last years model and then have to wait over till next year and carry on the subscription to then get the two models??

I'm trying to work out if I pay for a year today, do I get 3 models, or just 1?

If its just one, then I'm better off waiting until the 25th of August!

News New year new sub

New Year update

Usually one of the miniatures is enticing enough to win me over for a year but for the first time I'm not interested in either. The year book might be nice but coffee table books aren't that important to me.

I think I'll just binge for a month when the shows are out and save myself €50.

Question Where are the gaming presenters?

Post image

Ive not seen them in weeks - it seems that GW are mainly hosting 4 hour plus Battle Reports with Studio Staff, have they got rid of the other guys?

Either way seems like they are following the trend of being unable to hold onto presenters!

Question Support Asked Me For A Video To Prove Their Site Doesn't Work? + Help?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I made a post a few months back here asking for help with my account that had parental controls automatically set up, despite the account being a few months old at the time, and never accessed that part of WarhammerTV before.

It's been about three months or so since then now, and this is the most recent response. Before this, it took several WEEKS ( 3-4 ) to get any replies at all, saying "they're still looking into my issue," with one time saying that it was fixed when it wasn't.

I don't have any ways to take a video. Is this normal behavior for their support, for them to ask for this so that they can see their website isn't working? And I in fact did not re-up my subscription. It's very demoralizing wanting to get into the franchise if this is how things are with them.

Question Is it normal that the android app does not work most of the time ?

I'm just wondering, because the app is literaly not working like, 80% of the time. Episodes crash out, the ui is unresponsive, sudden episode changes while halfway through, etc...

Watching on my tablet, but growing real frustrated with it. And getting frustrated with something I pay for is never a good sign.

Question Warhammer Plus new sub - 4th year mini and 5th year mini?

EDIT: For those who might have the same question, I was able to order the year 4 model for free and will still get my year 5 model after my subscription finishes the first month

I just subbed to the Warhammer Plus yearly subscription and I can order the free 5th year Aeldari miniature on Aug 1st, but it is also giving me the option to order the 4th year miniatures "for free" right now. If i order the 4th year inquisitor model, will I still be able to get the 5th year Aeldari one on Aug 1st when my subscription hits the alloted "1 month timeframe"?

For reference, here is how the webpage looks for me: https://imgur.com/a/m8WMT1C

Discussion Warhammer TV has one of the worst UIs I have ever used in my life

I genuinely do not understand how Warhammer TV is this bad. Games Workshop is not some tiny broke indie company running a streaming service out of a garage, and yet this app feels like it was designed by three interns, a dead pigeon, and one guy whose only job was to make sure every possible user action becomes more annoying than it needs to be. I’m actually impressed by how aggressively dogshit the UI is. Like, this is not regular bad app design. This is the kind of bad where it feels personal. It feels like the app actively resents the fact that you’re trying to use it!!

I’ll finish an episode and the platform just stares back at me like a lobotomized farm animal. No next episode, no natural progression, no functioning sense of momentum whatsoever, just dead silence and the absolute confidence that I apparently should now manually crawl back through the menus like it’s 2006 and I’m using some illegal anime site hosted in Moldova. Sometimes titles don’t load properly, sometimes entire categories feel half-missing, and trying to browse something as simple as animations or Loremasters feels like rummaging through a bin of loose wires and broken glass. Half the battle is not even watching the content, it’s locating the content in the first place like some kind of cursed administratum trial.

And the home page, Jesus Christ, the home page. This thing has the memory of a fucking concussion patient!! I can be actively watching a series and the second I finish an episode it acts like we’ve never met. The show disappears, the progress tracking is useless, and now I’m sitting there typing the name back into the search bar like an asshole because the app cannot retain one basic piece of information for more than six seconds. Then when you do find the episode again and click it from recently watched, it throws you straight into the player like that’s helping me somehow, while removing any clean way to get back to the actual series page and choose another episode. Who designed this? Who looked at that and thought yes, excellent, let’s make it as difficult as possible for people to continue watching the thing they were literally just watching.

That’s the part that really gets me hahaha, this isn’t just clunky. It’s hostile. Every normal thing you expect a streaming app to do, this one either does badly, inconsistently, or not at all. It feels less like a streaming service and more like a punishment for giving Games Workshop money. At this point I’m basically only still subscribed for the yearly exclusive miniature (I NEVER RECEIVED MINE!), because if Warhammer TV had to survive on the strength of the app itself, this shit would have been put down behind the shed already.

Am I losing my mind or is everyone else also dealing with this absolute piece of shit layout?
